Busy Living Sober "It's Bizzy"
Hosted by Elizabeth "Bizzy" Chance
Recovery isn’t just about stopping; it’s about starting.
Welcome to Busy Living Sober "It's Bizzy," the podcast where we move past the "shame" of the past and dive headfirst into the vibrant, messy, and beautiful reality of life in recovery. I’m your host, Elizabeth "Bizzy" Chance—recovery coach, speaker, and your biggest cheerleader in the journey to reclaim your power.
After years of my own journey, I realized that "getting sober" was only the beginning. The real magic happens when we learn how to stay busy living. This show is a weekly masterclass in resilience, featuring deep-dive conversations with world-renowned experts like Dr. Bob Schuchts, survivors like Azadeh Atzberger, and industry leaders who are rewriting the rules of wellness and spirituality.
On this show, we talk about it all:
- Navigating the "war within" and healing deep emotional wounds.
- Identifying toxic patterns and setting bulletproof boundaries.
- Integrating spirituality and psychology for a "whole-person" recovery.
- Transitioning from surviving to thriving in your career and relationships.
Whether you are 24 hours sober or 24 years in, this is your home for actionable wisdom, unfiltered truth, and the reminder that you don't have to do this alone.
It’s time to stop just "staying sober" and start Busy Living.

Episode 639 When Old Patterns Return: Finding Yourself Again After Spiritual Growth
Use Left/Right to seek, Home/End to jump to start or end. Hold shift to jump forward or backward.
In this deeply honest solo episode, I open up about that surprising moment when spiritual growth meets real life — and old patterns start creeping back in. After coming home from a transformative retreat, I could feel myself slipping into familiar routines, self‑judgment, and autopilot living. Instead of hiding it, I share what it really feels like to lose that euphoric clarity and how I’m gently finding my way back.
I talk about my ADHD tendencies, the
anxiety that shows up as noise in my head, and the routines that keep me small.
I also share the tools that are helping me stay grounded right now: prayer,
meditation, the rosary, the new “Detachment” series on the Hallow app, and the
emotional work I’m doing with my new therapist.
This episode is a reminder that awareness
is progress, change is possible, and none of us are alone on this journey. If
you’ve ever felt yourself slipping backward after a breakthrough, this
conversation will meet you right where you are.
Topics in this episode:
· Why spiritual breakthroughs fade when real life returns
· Slipping back into old routines and how to pivot
· ADHD tendencies and constant multitasking
· Anxiety, noise, and the power of presence
· Finding a therapist who truly fits
· Prayer, meditation, and the rosary as grounding tools
· The Hallow app’s new “Detachment” challenge
· Remembering your strengths, not just your defects
· Acceptance, awareness, and choosing a new path
· You are not your worries — and you are not alone
