Busy Living Sober "It's Bizzy"
Hosted by Elizabeth "Bizzy" Chance
Recovery isn’t just about stopping; it’s about starting.
Welcome to Busy Living Sober "It's Bizzy," the podcast where we move past the "shame" of the past and dive headfirst into the vibrant, messy, and beautiful reality of life in recovery. I’m your host, Elizabeth "Bizzy" Chance—recovery coach, speaker, and your biggest cheerleader in the journey to reclaim your power.
After years of my own journey, I realized that "getting sober" was only the beginning. The real magic happens when we learn how to stay busy living. This show is a weekly masterclass in resilience, featuring deep-dive conversations with world-renowned experts like Dr. Bob Schuchts, survivors like Azadeh Atzberger, and industry leaders who are rewriting the rules of wellness and spirituality.
On this show, we talk about it all:
- Navigating the "war within" and healing deep emotional wounds.
- Identifying toxic patterns and setting bulletproof boundaries.
- Integrating spirituality and psychology for a "whole-person" recovery.
- Transitioning from surviving to thriving in your career and relationships.
Whether you are 24 hours sober or 24 years in, this is your home for actionable wisdom, unfiltered truth, and the reminder that you don't have to do this alone.
It’s time to stop just "staying sober" and start Busy Living.

Episode 642 Love, Trauma & Returning to Yourself with Salima Adelstein
Use Left/Right to seek, Home/End to jump to start or end. Hold shift to jump forward or backward.
In Episode 642, I sit down with Salima Adelstein, the only female Shadhili Sufi guide in the United States, whose life’s work is helping people heal wounded hearts, dissolve inner barriers, and reconnect with the Divine through unconditional love.
Raised in a tight‑knit Jewish immigrant family, Salima’s journey took her from special education, hospice work, and alternative healing to a profound spiritual awakening in Jerusalem — where a Sufi master recognized her gifts, gave her the name Salima (“one who carries the peace of God”), and set her on a path of teaching, healing, and guiding others.
We explore:
· How trauma becomes part of your purpose
· Why resentment lives in the body — and how to release it
· What spiritual healing looks like in everyday life
· How to reconnect with God after feeling abandoned
· Why love is the doorway back to yourself
· The Sufi understanding of the heart, veils, and inner wisdom
· How to find peace that doesn’t disappear when life gets hard
· The power of unconditional love vs. conditional family love
Salima also shares the remarkable story of discovering her healing abilities while working with dying children, her father’s miraculous survival, and the moment her entire understanding of God, love, and purpose shifted forever.
If you’re navigating resentment, trauma, spiritual disconnection, or the longing to feel whole again, this conversation will meet you right where you are.
