In this cast, I talk about talking and how it may cut us off from truly growing and becoming enlightened in this world, such as what was presented in a popular podcast. Silence and cutting back on all the devices and noise in our life will help us connect to something much greater than this object realm.
Welcome to the Bitter Buffalo Podcast. Today I wanted to talk about talking. We do it all the time. All the time. We do it. And we don't second guess or second guess. We don't question it why we talk. Because we do it to kind of get what we want. It's to get things done in this real world we find ourselves in, right? So we go on, we are taught like all these words and phrases and you know norms of speech and stuff like this. And no one really questions whether it's useful or helpful to keep doing that in our life. And so many people have now gotten to the point where they talk incessantly, and that's just all they do. They need to fill up every single moment with some kind of talking or podcast or I don't know, some kind of TV show in the background. And there's not much room for silence in today's society, according to what I see. And this, I believe, is leading to huge problems with anxiety, depression, all those mental health feelings who are which are now made into conditions because of how we talk things into existence. Everything that we speak about, we talk into existence. There was this philosopher by the name of Jesus who said, As you believe, so shall be done unto you. And there's a whole bunch of different other philosophers and things like this that have said the same thing over time, you know. Our thoughts do become reality. I think Marcus Aurelius, you know, something about, you know, something about die. I can't remember the exact quote, but essentially, when we use that vocal channel in our brain, it blocks us from accessing something else. Not in this world, but in maybe other realms or other planes of existence or just other ways of understanding this reality. So I think we need to start reigning this in as something we can get great in greater contact with the energies around us, the spiritual realm, the other realms that are definitely, I think, salient and relevant, but all we are faced with when we are born into this reality is just object consciousness, right? Like we just this is I kind of got this from Eckhart Toll, where he was talking about the differences between object and space consciousness. And when we're in this world, we're basically just brought into a focus on things and you know, money and being a you know, a certain type of person that does certain things for others, for ourselves, and things like this. You know, buying a house, having a family, doing all these things, having a job, um, this makes a good person, they say, in our reality. And then when we get into relationships and when we get into families, it just becomes so much talk that you lose sight when you were born of the connection since you were born, of the connection you have with, you know, maybe a greater realm, a different under a different realm that we can access. For example, if you've ever heard of the telepathy tapes podcast, you'll know that the it's about nonverbal autistic kids who can who they're finding out can read minds, who are telepathic in a lot of ways, right? And they've been doing a lot of science into this. And I believe this is because they don't have that verbal channel open to them. So they have to use what they have, and I think we all have it is the ability to be telepathic, but of course that gets shut down. We're not taught to access it. And um, this is kind of like akin to all the you know, the meditation um based, you know, practices that a lot of uh like Buddhists and people like that, even in modern America, the new age stuff where people started meditating. I think it's even akin to prayer too, right? Just calming that that voice, the outside need to talk, and just access something greater than yourself. So in the telepathy tapes, so they uh again, they I think Kai Dickens, the host of it, is showing that we, I think, all have the possibility of being like these um individuals who are nonverbal, autistic kids, and you know, so I think it just it's uh it's it's a it's a good thing to start realizing that talking too much will just shut you off from that world more and more and cause more and more anxiety and depression. And when we open up that ability to access things in a different way, using whatever that is in our brain that can access, or not even our brain, our whole body, right? We can access this other realm, we'll be much more happy, um, understanding, compassionate people who are able to really connect on deeper levels with each other versus what we're shown, right? And I think it's kind of akin to what people call satanic and stuff like this. It's like this focus on this base consciousness, right? That really doesn't get us anywhere. It's like buying Christmas at buying buying Christmas, buying presents at Christmas. Take a look at the um the Christmas tree, right? At the bottom, what do you got? Well, usually you put presents there, right? And then it kind of goes up and up until you get to the star, which I think is kind of akin to enlightenment and where we want to get to. So it's almost like we're constantly fed this idea we should just focus on things and stuff rather than the infinite and the energies and the space and being conscious of the space around us and each other in different ways. So, in a way, again, going back to some of my other podcasts, we are slaves. We're taught to be slaves, and language is one of those things that we learn that, of course, we're taught that art being articulate and well-versed and good in communication can be helpful for you. But I think, again, that leads to more and more talking and a shutting off of a part of a part of ourselves that could really do a lot of connecting if we had maybe some balance in our life between talking and not talking. So I just kind of wanted to start this discussion because I think this is something I want to explore more of in my life is not having, you know, devices on all over the place and music always playing and podcasts, you know, blaring their stuff to make us feel less alone, because I think that's what they're gonna do anyway, because it prevents us from connecting on a deeper level, such as these kids in the telepathy tapes, where if you listen to it, they go to this place called the Hill, where they all meet up and they kind of like connect with each other. And just think if we were able to do that without devices and all this stuff, right? We would be much more, I think, empathic, again, uh caring, compassionate people if we had if we understood that ability or understood the realms outside of this object-oriented existence that is constantly thrown in our face. So let's practice let's let's let's do this together. Let's practice this, not talking. When you feel the urge to just fill a silence, don't talk. Just let it be. This is a habit that was given to us to be um weary or to be anxious when there's silence. And what I think we really need to get back to is less reading of other people's stuff, less hearing of what other people are doing, less focus on the verbal channels that just like talk, talk, talk all the time. And more um allowing of silence, of just what is there. Because then we can really make a connection to what is around us. So let's try this together, okay? Let's try. Let's not okay, let's get that word try out of there. I don't really like that. I don't know why I use that word try. Habit. Probably. Let's simply get as much silence into our lives as we can. And I want to hear maybe what after you do that, what happens to you, you know, the more and more silence that you allow into your life. I want to know like maybe what your experience of that is. You can give me a drop me a line at lmftweaver at gmail.com. I'd love to hear about it. Or give me podcast, you know, ideas. But today I was just kind of like wanting to get this out there, you know, in a verbal way, of course, about silence and how I think it'll start a kind of a revolution of the mind. If that makes sense. Alright, thanks for joining me today. And I look forward to uh another time when we can connect together. But let's do this together, right? Let's do silence.
