low maintenance friendships are not the answer
I saw a stream of TikToks a few months ago where there seemed to be this idea that the best kind of friendships are the ones that take the least amount of "effort" (the effort being...catching up and investing in your friends' lives). I am here today to say that is NOT the way, and that friendship, as messy as it is, takes sacrifice. There is so much joy to be found in friendships that require a bit of effort to maintain the relationship.
