Speaker 1:

All right, good morning. It is Thanksgiving. We are about 30 minutes away from our Thanksgiving Day workout of the day here at CrossFit Pittsburgh, so I'm going to be unusually, unusually brief, and that's not going to happen. You all know that, so wanted to give a couple Thanksgiving weekend, black Friday weekend rather Shout outs to our friends at Born Primitive. All right, so this weekend, this entire weekend, 30% off, site wide, up to 70% off on their clearance vault items. If you're not familiar with Born Prim primitive, yeah, we can't be friends. Um, you know a lot of uh.

Speaker 1:

Since we've been in the crossfit space 20 years, right, we've seen a lot of uh, a lot of um, a lot of companies come and go. You know, in the in the space, uh, every once in a while you come upon one that is legit, and born primitive is at the top of that list. All right, I think the first thing that caught my attention was the fact that it is a family business. Husband and wife started in their garage. Their story is very, very similar. You know their origin story, very similar to ours, ours, right? Um, although I don't know them personally, I don't know the dynamic, I mean, I don't. I would hope that, uh, I hope that bear didn't just, um, you know, run wild, lease the space and then tell his wife right before he left for deployment. By the way, we just started a business. I'll I'll see you when I get back, you know, like I did, but that's another story.

Speaker 1:

Um, I always had poor impulse control. But they are top shelf. All of their merchandise is first rate. I can't say enough good things about it. Most recently, we've ordered quite a few of the Woodsman stretchy flannel shirts. Today I'm wearing it in forest. I don't know how well it's showing up on the camera right now. It should be pretty good. I mean, it's a good yeah. Yeah, you can't see that. You know you need help. Woodsman stretchy flannel um in forest. Right, it's awesome, it is comfortable, like everything else I've ever got from born primitive and you put it on and you, you love it. Like, uh, like a comfortable pair of your, your favorite jeans. Okay, um, so I'm digging that I really am. I love the flannel. It's not the first one I've got from them and they just keep getting better, absolutely keep getting better. So, um, also just recently and this was, this was fun, this was a lot of fun I tried the um, and this was fun. This was a lot of fun. I tried the. Well, some of you might have seen it's in our archives.

Speaker 1:

I want to say, maybe as far back as last Christmas, the first time I tried the Men's Cloud hoodie sweatshirt. It was so comfortable. I mean it is, it's the kind of hoodie that you want to put on. You wear it for anything. It's versatile, it's sharp, it's the fit is great.

Speaker 1:

But I'll tell you what. Uh, first time I put it on it was early morning, I was coming in here to do some work and, uh, I put it on. I wanted to curl up and take a nap. It was so comfortable, all right, probably hence the name, you know, cloud hoodie. But um, um, uh, very, very similar, uh, probably I'm and I'm rambling now. I'm just rambling now because, uh, these are some of my all-time favorites of the uh born primitive line. But, um, the uh, excuse me, the recharge, recharge, cloud sweatshirt similar, it's a quarter zip collar, but, uh, the feel, the texture and, um, the you know the comfort level is very, very uh, cloud, uh, cloud hoodie reminiscent. So you know, the color schemes are right on and, um, you know, check them out if you haven't checked them out. Honest to god, you don't know what you're missing. Okay, so this weekend, this weekend running through Black Friday weekend, I think it goes until Tuesday. I'll put out a little bit more on our social media later, but it goes until throughout the weekend. Again, 30% off, site-wide, 30%, 70%, up to 70% from their clearance vault items.

Speaker 1:

Also, a short, short while ago I know I put this out, we covered this, but they took on an initiative that 100%. Think about this for a second. I have a very bad habit sometimes when I give a compliment, it comes out as a criticism towards something or someone else, and I certainly don't. It's not my intention. So oftentimes businesses, sites, people will come out and they'll say a portion, a portion of our profits, you know, go to this or this or this, and that's wonderful. You know it's wonderful it is. But I don't recall and I'm old right, I don't recall having seen something like this ever.

Speaker 1:

To be quite frank, a short, short while ago, born Primitive came out with an initiative to pay off $5 million in unpaid medical bills for veterans in need. All right, in broad strokes, $5 million towards veterans' medical expenses, one hundred percent of their profits for that initiative, for that timeframe, one hundred percent of their profits would go to that goal. Well, I'm watching it, I'm keeping updated on it and I put it out on social media because I thought it was one of the probably the most amazing thing I'd ever heard. In short order, they're halfway there, right. I checked the site again. They're halfway there. They're 2.5 out of 5 million. They doubled their intended goal, all right. They doubled their intended goal, raising $10 million to put towards veterans' medical bills, all right. So think about that.

Speaker 1:

I'm bringing it up today, on Thanksgiving, because, yeah, it's Black Friday and you know all that that entails for the shopping season and that's that's wonderful. But when, when a company and I do, I know my wife and I run CrossFit Pittsburgh like this, it is a business and it is a company, right, the company is only as good and its integrity is only as strong as the people who who make up that company, and I know that's the way we've run CrossFit Pittsburgh for these some 20 years, and that's what I see with, uh, with the Hanlons All right, that's exactly what I see. Um, I, I would love to meet you one day, brother, all right, seriously, I think that's awesome and we're supporters. If you couldn't tell, if there was any doubt about that. We're supporters, appreciate everything you do. We're very glad to have an affiliate relationship with you and represent the brand in our own small way, but anyway, check it out the brand in our own, you know, small way, but anyway, check it out Born Primitive. Check out their social media. Check out their Black Friday sale I am going to push this to all of our CrossFit Pittsburgh social media and don't use here at CrossFit Pittsburgh.

Speaker 1:

We don't use MySpace anymore. I'm not sure what happened to that account. I'm gonna have to try to see if my kids still criticize me that dad. Nobody uses Facebook anymore, only old people. Well, I am old, all right, I am old, but I'm still here and I'm still here, I'm still getting after it and you know it's awesome. But anyway, thank you all for that. If you're watching this, then obviously there's some kind of connection to you and our community. So I say thank you for that. Happy Thanksgiving to every one of you, all of our friends and extended family, all right, so you know, don't want to sound trite, but I do sign off with this. Oftentimes, you know, do something nice for someone, but make it for someone you don't know, or maybe you you don't, maybe like not your favorite person. Easy to do nice things for our favorite people. Do something nice for everybody, right, all right, check out black friday born primitive crossfit pittsburgh out.
