Kapwa Kulture Podcast
The Kapwa Kulture Podcast is a weekly show where we talk about how mental health and wellbeing can be viewed through different aspects of the Filipinx-American culture. As a training psychologist and Doctoral Intern for the APA Accredited Internship in Health Services Psychology at California State University, Northridge, I am working alongside University Counseling Services to explore how the unique experiences of Filipinx identifying folks interact with their passions for wellbeing and learn more about how we can take steps toward moving forward in our mental health journeys. This podcast is for people from all cultural backgrounds wanting to experience connection by listening to and learning about how the Filipinx culture can highlight the beauty of shared similarities and differences. What is Kapwa Kulture?
Welcome to our first and shortest solo episode here on the Kapwa Kulture Podcast. To kick us off, Jemima Ruth sets the frame for the next few weeks by sharing a bit more about what the word Kapwa means and how we can understand ourselves in light of others through cultural experiences. Afterwards, we look at three ways in which we can make the most of our listening experiences and continue to engage in the Filipinx value of Kapwa. Follow us on Instagram at @kapwakulturepod and @csun_counselingservices for more details and updates each week! We'll pause here and pick back up next Friday. See you then!
