Hello hello hello it is tanya chief porson at threespot dogs here with another episode of the positively spoiled podcast and today I'm doing something a little bit different I get asked questions all the time about. Um, myself and the team here at 3 sport dogs. So today I wanted to talk about the team. Um, which is the 3 sport dogs crew because we get asked. Um all the time about it. So I thought what a great opportunity to talk to you about who we are. Why we started threeport dolls our processes some of our services and so forth. So let me start by introducing the team now of course it consists of me I'm the chief portson and pretty much do it of everything we have Shane who is my support crew and some of you will have met or seen Shane from time to time. And of course we have the 3 sport dogs tia latte and there so really start with the most important members of the team and of course they are my babiess ti late and ne now tia and late were fostered from the rspca. So yes, we have failed foster parents. Um. They were adopted. They are 13 years they were 13 years in October and they definitely don't look or act their age because they're very spoilt. Um, but you know we fostered them? Um, yeah, it was our first foster. Um, we just lost our previous dog Harley and it was very quiet in the house and we were like let's.

Know not ready to get a dog yet. But let's do some fostering and and help out and of course tear and latte were the were the first 2 dogs that we that we got and we fell in love with them of course and they never left. So um, they are half sisters so their mum was seized from a puppy farm. Luckily they were born in captivity at the rspca and at the time they were overrun they had over 250 puppies born and obviously couldn't handle that many so they're looking for people to foster and help so that's where we came in and that's where we um, we met the girls and we was only supposed to have them for. A few weeks and we went. Let's just you know keep them longer and then we were like they're not going anyway. So um, so their half sister same mom different dad. Um and I didn't know at the time that a lit could have different fathers. So yeah, that was a learning curve for us as well. Tia is the most definitely the diva. Or the princess of the family although shame would like to say she's like a mother. Um she is head of purchasing and she loves to shop and again she's just like a mom in that respect but she is very calm. She's very placid tear much as to the beat of her own drum. She can be very temperamental and fussy and demandy at times and a bit of a lo because she prefers to take herself off to little places and chill and have little sleep so she's a lot like a dad in that respect. Um she sheds white hair all over our house. She is one of our dogs that does shed hair which is always fun to claim her and clogs up the back.

Vacuum but she um she is the most beautiful girl she has the most expressive eyes and I swear everyone that meets her falls in love with her sweet little face and we're constantly getting remarks about how beautiful she is because she is just this most gorgeous calming um, sweet little soul and we love her so much. Yeah, latte is her halfsister and she looks very different to her sister. She looks like a poodleros now she is our director of marketing. Um, now we were told when we adopted um her that ah she was sit shiu cross poodle. Um, so we all sort of. Believe that and over the years red people say oh, she's definitely got chis su in or she just definitely doesn't so her' to a point of going we need to find out what she actually is so we did a Dna chess and that revealed that she actually has no poodle in her at all. So she's actually a cavichon which is predominantly cavally and beon. Um. Um, we don't care regardless because we love her and it doesn't matter what breed she is. She's just the most beautiful happy girl. She loves her food and um, she will eat just about anything that we put in front of her and I swear she's part labrador sub of ah the speed at which she eats her food. There's really nothing that she won't eat. Um, so it's I guess. But that she's not a fussy eater. Um, and we recently discovered this is a bit of an interesting one that she's a bit of a cougar. She loves to play with the young male dogs to come that comes to stay with us I don't know if she just likes to feel younger.

Um, she is definitely a big cutie. But yeah, when we get some young male dogs. We'll find her out there playing with them and it's just like oh my god who is this girl? Um, but she is totally adorable I love to watch her in action now. Um, we we think that miss late is. Is losing her hearing a little bit There's been a few signs of that so we're now very mindful of how we interact with her and how other dogs interact with her so she's not surprised too much and doesn't sort of snap and and so forth, but she is the sweetest sweetest little theme. And of course so we had tear and latte for a couple of years and we had a couple of foster dogs in between um, who didn't stay um who went back to to find their forever homes. But then two years later along came Neo now we had a phone call to say we've got these 2 little dogs. Um, that was seven weeks old um, when they were um, handed into the ah rspca. Unfortunately, their owner had cancer. Um, and said I can't do puppies and cancer at the same time It's too much which I can imagine. Um, so they said can you find them a good home now the other little one was a labradoodle and someone else who had already sort of wanted her. Um. We took them. Um, which took both of them for for four weeks um because they can't adopt them out until they're twelve weeks old and then we kept Neo and I knew from the moment that I so laid eyes on his face that he was not going anywhere. So when I first saw him they brought him out. He was this shy.

One and a half kilo ball of fluff. Um, at seven weeks of age and he was definitely love at first sight. There was no doubt that he was going to. You know we were going to give him a forever home now. He is precocious. He's spoiled his a bundle of energy who doesn't act or looked his look He's age because he's 11 now and no one. Leaves me when I tell him that he is eleven years old because he still acts very much like a puppy and I think having um the guests that we have keeps him young um and keeps him really active now he is definitely a mummy's boy he is my shadow. He does not like to be separated from me. Um. And so I secretly love that. But I know it's not the the healthiest thing sometimes as well because he was with me from day one. Um and I was working from home. So I was his constant companion. So it stands to reason that I'm his chosen person. Um, we give him the title of chief of personnel. And the official greeter as he is such a little social dogggie and he loves everyone who loves interacting with everyone. So um, he's a little Greer Shane looks to think he is my favorite and as much as I say I don't have favorites. He does have a very special place. Um in my heart and I actually but. Leave and you know everyone believes different things but I actually believe that Tia late and there are my previous dogs Noke Harley and jazz reincarnated. They have the same personalities and the same traits like it's seriously uncanny how alive these dogs are.

Um, in so many respects and I figured that they had such a good life. They came back to us. Um in the form of tia latteine who I very much believe chose us. Um, because we weren't looking um for another dog at that time but they came into our life and we we you know we just fell in love with them. Um, I often get told by friends that they want to come back as one of my dogs when they go because they think like these dogs have the most amazing life ever. So I'm going to come back as one of your dogs. So um, you know these you know Teo late Andie are definitely the most important and the most spoilt members. Of this 3 sportd dogs team. So ah, let me just talk a little bit about my hubby Shane so Shane very much plays a behind the scenes um role by choice. You know that's his personality. That's his comfort zone. Um, the only reason he usually pops his head out is when I'm busy or I'm not here and he has to do a drop-up or or a pickup you know, but you know many of you have probably met Shane by now some of you better than others. Um some of you more briefly than others. He is my a mucheded support crew and right-hand man. He takeskes over for me when I need to go and run errands or go to meetings or I've recording podcasts like this or or talking to clients. Um, he um you know fills that void and and helps me with all of that sort of stuff now. Shane is um, he works full time. He's a tradey.

So he is up super early and he's home early so he can report to Judy I tell him he comes home from 1 job and he start clocks in to another um and anyone that knows he knows he is very much the opposite of me he is calm. He is sensible. He doesn't like change. Um, he's a great judge of character. Um, but he has a very calming effect on our guests I think they can sense his sensitive nature as well. Um, so dogs just love him and they just gravitate towards him our guests love to chill on the recliner in the media room which is Shane's space and it's very much. Sort after position in the house I must say the doggies know that once you get your spot on that recline out that you don't move because if you do someone else is going to jump in and claim it straightway. So it's a very interesting dynamic but I'd love to get Shane more involved with um with the business this year. So expect to see more of him but I haven't told him that yet so we'll just keep that on the download for the time b so a little bit about me so most of you um, that are regular clients of ours will know me because I am the voice of the podcast I am the face of 3 sport dogs apart from te latte and neo. Um, and I'm the one that pretty much handles everything. So um, you know you know I'm definitely the top dog of operations. Um, it's me that responds to your inquiries I set up the meet and greets I do the drop hos and the pickups normally I provide the cuddles and the playtime during the day I make all the doggie treats I mean you think of it.

Pretty much anything and everything that happens during the day and night is me. Um, you know I am a lifelong dog owner. We've always had dogs growing up I've always loved dogs and having them in my life and often I say I love dogs more than people because they hit just the absolute Best I love being surrounded them by them all day now. Um my my um main business is a um marketing business. So I run a marketing business from home called digital conversations which I've had for nearly ten years um so three small dogs is the perfect compliment because I can be sitting here working and surrounded by. Lots of 4 legged loves. Um, while I'm working they might be playing or sleeping and and I'm sitting here working on my laptop. Um because all I need is a laptop and um and a phone and a wi-fi connection I can pretty much work from anywhere. So prior to that I had um a job in the corporate world I was in marketing roles for many years in sales I worked in radio sales I worked for digital marketing agencies a tech startup a large media company. So I've done a whole bunch of stuff before that which is which is I call my big career. Um, but and had lots of fun doing that and then it was you know obviously time to make. That change and start my own thing and be in control of my own life and my own destiny and my own days. Um, my favorite things to do you might see ah plenty of photos of us out in the poolside Kabaana chilling well that is one of my favorite um spots to be and see it I love sitting out by the pool with a nice glass of Sav Blanc

Ah, chilled rose or ah, a glass of bubbles while I'm reading and I've got dog sitting next to me codling up to me I do love a spot of reality Tv as well. I'm a suckcofer of real housewives and and those sorts of ah those sorts of shows I know they're absolute crap I totally get it. But you know it's my little piece of escapism. I love to write I do a lot of writing I'm working on another book this year. Um I love podcasting I also have another podcast for my marketing business called sales without socials. Um, so if you want to know more about that you can jump on on this into that I love traveling. And definitely enjoy online shopping which is ah something I probably do way too much of you. Ask my husband and the amount of packages that show up at this door but most of them for dogs so you know so I figure that's okay so um, I but so share a little bit about our process as well. So. We start with a meet and greet at our house so that's our first sort of um point we um, you know, ah you know, answer any questions we see how the dogs interact that's part of the meat andree process if we think you're a good feed then we share a booking form with you that gives us all of the details. Um. When you arrive for your stay for the dog for the dog stay I'll I'll meet greet you when we do this quick fuss-free drop- off to minimize any sort of anxiety and we don't make too much of a fuss. Um I bring the dogs inside and introduce them to our other guests. So if they are anxious or shy.

We do this gradually so to not overwhelm them as well. So We can sort of make it a bit of a slower process for them. So It's not too much for them and then they can get to explore Um, check out the new home and meet the other guest when it comes to you know, feed time they are fed separately to avoid any sort of food. Um Aggression. We feed them their normal diets so you would bring their food with them. Um, and we as so we feed them in separate areas at different times. Um, unless you know you've you've ordered some special food for us and then they and they get that but we have the whole process we go through at feed time. Um, which we follow which works really well for us and our guests Now. I Guess also sleep inside so then a secure cool area I put some relaxing music on for them so they can sort of ease off into their do little doggy dreams. So um, it's a really nice sort of calming space for them and then when it comes to pickups Again. We set we have set times. Um, in interpret that we agree with you So not set times every day but when you know we agree on a time that you're ah you're going to pick them up. Um, and that makes it easier for us because we can make sure all this stuff's free I can make sure I've got you know dogs in certain areas of the house. So I can get to the garage or the front door. Um, and it helps with me. Um, when I've got calls and podcast recordings and appointments and stuff like that as well. So We like it if you are you know on time so that helps manage that whole process for us. So um, yeah, so and you know we know how important it is for you to be reunited how exciting it is for you and your dog to be reunited. Um when it comes to pickup so we like to make that as fun as possible as.

That's a little bit about the process. Um, So how do we start? 3 spot dogs Well Shana started casual pet sitting around ten years ago now through ah through a pet eating app and it sort of Morphed. Um organically into the service that we offer today. So during Covid I decided we were going to start this brand called 3 small dogs. Um, and you know start our own service because it just made but made sense to do that and I wanted to give our very spoilt dogs Ti late a little legacy into the future as Well. So something that you know we could remember them forever by and you know most of our services do center around dog sitting for like overnights weekends and longer days.
