Welcome back business developers to another episode of Breaking Biz Dev, a bonus episode of Breaking Biz Dev. Uh, Mark, you and I have been doing this podcast for a while now, and we see the folks that are downloading the show, we see the folks that are watching on YouTube, engaging with us on LinkedIn. And we want to understand how can we improve? How can we get better? What would be helpful for you, the listener? and so we developed a feedback survey. It's in the show notes if you want to, uh, help us out, but we'd like to kind of introduce a little bit, you know, what we're seeing, um, some of the conversations that we've had with some folks that are listening and just, uh, yeah. So Mark, what do you think?
Mark Wainwright:Yeah, this is, this is a quick one. This is not, this is not intended to be the full length episode. This is hopefully, we'll just take a few minutes doing this. And then the remaining time that you had set aside for us. Thank you.
John Tyreman:Go listen to some other, uh, episodes.
Mark Wainwright:listener. Well, you can listen to my other episodes or you can just go to go fill out the survey.
John Tyreman:Oh yeah, that,
Mark Wainwright:that's what I was getting at is that they can, they can go fill out the survey. So, yeah, so this is, um, it's just a simple. Listener feedback survey. We've, like John said, we've been, uh, we've been recording episodes for, you know, what, pretty darn close to a year and a half now in that ballpark or, or close. And, uh, we've got some great episodes. We've had some, got some good feedback. We've got, uh, thank you. A bunch of great listeners out there, which is good. And we would love to hear from any and, and. And all of you, we are interested to hear what episodes people have listened to. Now, I think that's in the survey, uh, you know, which ones they appreciate the most, and we've seen some, some different ones kind of, kind of, kind of mentioned some of the snarky ones, maybe, uh, that we've, that we've done. Uh, but, but others, uh, that people find to be valuable. We're interested in figuring out what episodes, uh, people like. Oh,
John Tyreman:I saw this the other day, the, um, the succession planning episode that we did got like a big spike in downloads. I'm not sure where that came from, but they were all on Apple, which is our most popular platform. Funny enough, when we, we sent out this feedback survey and we got a handful of responses so far, and each one is on a different platform. They listen on a different platforms, Apple, Spotify. Well, what are some of the other ones
Mark Wainwright:YouTube. Yeah.
John Tyreman:overcast. So there's a number of different ways that, that folks listen to the show, which is really cool.
Mark Wainwright:Yeah, that is, um, that, that is, is, is fun. And that, that episode's an interesting one. I, uh, you know, we could talk more and more about that, John. I think you and I talked to you the day is that, you know, succession planning is such an interesting thing. And that, you know, firms that are doing great succession planning really are creating a firm, you know, culture around new business development, and oftentimes I find, and that sounds. You know, kind of focused on me, you know, and cause I'm the sales guy, right? But inevitably I find that firms who do a really good job at succession planning and building future sales leaders are firms that are going to be able to carry on genera generation after generation. And those who don't, you see mergers, you see acquisitions, you see them just, you know, turn the lights off and close the door and they're done. So anyway, that's a bit of a digression. Uh, but, uh, yeah, we've got other. Other topics that we're kind of floating around out there,
John Tyreman:We've got an episode calendar that we've, that we talk about you and I meet weekly, and we talk about the different topics that we want to record about. And this, so this is an opportunity for, you know, if you're listening to this and you, you really want Mark and I to break down a certain topic, take the survey, let us know, let us know what you think. Um, we've got some other topics that we're thinking about doing. It seems like people are really gravitating towards this idea of building awareness of your expertise in a specific niche. So we are going to have an episode that's going to come out, um, about that.
Mark Wainwright:Yeah. So there's a, there's, um, a good spectrum of, of topics. we also not beyond the topics. We also present our episodes a little bit differently. sometimes we have guest voices come in and those have been received. Well, and we, and, and we kind of produce, and publish those episodes in a specific, specific way. And people have, have appreciated that, uh, John's really into, uh, research. I like the numbers and the research and everything else, but I know this is kind of a foundational part of, of what you've done in the past. So I know that research is really important and. we've touched on, like I mentioned, we've tried to, we've tried to humor the audience on occasion and, and, and publish it and occasionally snarky, episode, just because, some of this stuff is really hard and it's a little bit easier to deal with it if you can do it with a laugh.
John Tyreman:That's, it's exactly right. And well, that's the whole point. And that's what we set out to do. Mark is to beat up these business development topics. So I'd say we're holding true to that mission.
Mark Wainwright:we are so, so yeah, this is, we don't want to get this too long. This is intended to be a quick episode. Please, with the remaining time that you have, go fill out the survey. We will make sure that the link is widely available for the listeners, uh, to go and give us some, some feedback. So there you go. That's, that's our quick little episode. It's a little plug for the survey.
John Tyreman:check it out links in the show notes. it should take you no longer than three to five minutes to fill out. So we'll see you next time on breaking BizDev until next time,
Mark Wainwright:Until next time, John.
