Leadership Lessons From Philippians: Partnership, Humility, And Resilient Joy
Use Left/Right to seek, Home/End to jump to start or end. Hold shift to jump forward or backward.
Joy that doesn’t blink in the face of pressure sounds impossible—until you hear Paul write it from a prison cell. We open Philippians and explore how a community born in crisis became a model for resilient leadership, practical humility, and culture that sticks when life gets loud.
We start with the origin story in Acts—chains, an earthquake, a jailer’s turnaround—and trace how those early trials forged a deep partnership between Paul and the church at Philippi. From there, we unpack what “partnership” really means for modern teams: shifting people from “working for” to “building with,” translating mission statements into habits, and measuring culture by what we do under stress, not what we say in meetings.
Chapter two takes center stage as we break down the “mind of Christ” as a leadership pattern: consider others first, choose the servant’s role, and trade status for service. We name ego as the silent arsonist of teams and offer practical ways to douse it—shared wins, transparent decisions, honest feedback, and interdependence instead of lone-wolf heroics. Then we move to Paul’s famous lines in chapter four: rejoice, practice gratitude, pray with specificity, and fix your attention on what is true and excellent. You’ll hear how this mindset becomes a protective garrison around your heart and mind, and how to build it with simple rhythms—clear boundaries, focus blocks, reflective walks, and a support system that keeps you steady.
By the end, you’ll have a field map for leading through disruption: anchor joy beyond outcomes, align culture with mission, and guard your inner life so your outer leadership stays calm, clear, and kind. If this resonates, follow the show, share it with a leader who needs courage today, and leave a quick review so others can find it. Then tell us: where do you need more peace and focus this week?

SPEAKER_00Oh now, come on.
SPEAKER_01Alrighty, welcome, welcome, welcome to another exciting episode of the Biblical Leadership Show. Hey Tim. My name is Tim Lansford, and with me is the Dr. Dean Posey. Infamous Dr. Dean. Infamous Posey. Oh, yeah. Oh. His legend precedes him.
SPEAKER_02I don't know who you're talking about. Maybe someone who hadn't come in the room yet. Oh. Hey, Tim, what do you call a parrot that can't fly? Um a parrot that can't fly. What do you call? How about a walkie-talkie?
SPEAKER_01I just went straight into it. I love it.
SPEAKER_02Hey, welcome to the Biblical Leadership Show. Um, this is episode 110. 110. And uh for those of you who are joining us for the first time, thank you so much. Uh, we are going through the Bible, uh book by book, talking about the leadership principles that you can apply to your daily life beginning today. And we're now in the or tomorrow, if you're tomorrow. You might be busy today. You know, you know, listen to this at night.
SPEAKER_0111 o'clock at night or something, you know.
SPEAKER_02Okay, let's just say soon.
SPEAKER_01Soon, there you go.
SPEAKER_02And so today we are talking about the book of Philippians. Short book, but powerful, especially chapter two. Yeah.
SPEAKER_01And uh how many chapters is this? Four. Four. Yeah. Not too many.
SPEAKER_02So you know, uh, you think that the shorter books in the New Testament are not, you know, as important, but oh my gosh, that's just the opposite of the truth. They're shorter, but they're not less important. And um and so this one is a powerful.
SPEAKER_01Are you saying that for my book writing that I'm writing right now? So shorter's fine. Shorter's fine. I'm showing them done. I wrote one word. Make it an e-book. Not like Dr. P writing books, he's a book writing machine over there.
SPEAKER_02So Oh, I don't think so. Anyway, hey, just wanted to ask you a question. Um in our uh life, my wife and I, we've had two golden retrievers and two Labrador retrievers. Okay. Four amazing dogs. Amazing dogs. Um, but if the if the most popular dog is the golden retriever, okay, are the second and third most popular dogs the silver and bronze retrievers?
SPEAKER_01Nice. Oh I have a new silver Frenchie. Yeah, we have a new dog. You do. Well, how exciting is that? Silver Frenchie. So yeah, so it fits right into that. That's good. Yeah.
SPEAKER_02So well, I tried a new blender today for making my protein shake. Oh, yeah, the results are mixed. Okay. If you didn't know, we put in some dad jokes along with talking about the Bible.
SPEAKER_01Oh. Yes. Do they know that? I don't know if they know that. If you don't know it, go back and listen to our New Year's Eve show where it's all dad jokes all the time. Uh-huh.
SPEAKER_02Okay, so let me ask you, what did the green grape say to the purple grape?
SPEAKER_01Uh it's a color thing, red maybe.
SPEAKER_02Oh, breathe, please breathe. All right.
SPEAKER_01I didn't know that one. I didn't heard that one. So good.
SPEAKER_02All right, good job.
SPEAKER_01I like it.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, so why did the Hulk get thrown out of the Honda dealership?
unknownOh man.
SPEAKER_01Um, I don't know.
SPEAKER_02Because he was throwing a fit.
SPEAKER_01Nice. You know, Honda Listen. Um, why don't uh they advertise? They ever have the Hulk do any advertising?
SPEAKER_02Why did Hulk not do any advertising?
SPEAKER_01Yeah, why did they never call on him to do advertising? I don't know. Because he's won big banner. Hopefully I got that right. That's been a while since I've heard that one.
SPEAKER_02It's still February here in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. And so this is our coldest month of the year, okay? Coldest month of the year is normally February in Dallas Fort Worth. Um, and so for those of you who love ice skating, you know, don't please don't tell jokes when you're ice skating. The ice might crack up.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_01Maybe a little bit. All right. So uh let's talk about Philippians. Philippians. Now, one thing I don't know if we mentioned last week or not, but um we might mention it now. These are sort of uh letters that um uh were wrote from prison. Is that correct? Yeah, uh and um why and he's writing these two the churches, the churches.
SPEAKER_02Like the church at Philippi or the Church of Ephesus. Uh yeah. So he wrote them in prison. Now think about this. Um now we read in the book of Acts um that Paul was in the city of Philippi on one of his missionary journeys. He was in prison there, and um there was a big earthquake, uh, the guard who was there. Now think about this is underground prisons, totally dark. Um, they're in a locked cell, um, there's an earthquake, the the doors come open, the jailer thinks that everyone's escaped, so he's getting ready to kill himself, and Paul says, No, don't hear, we're all here. Uh the jailer becomes a uh a Christian, uh Paul baptizes his whole family. That's the beginning of the Christian church, okay, right there in Philippi. So he's had a deep relationship with this group of people from some very serious things that he was going through, some difficult challenges. But even though, and he writes this in his in chapter four, we'll get to that in just a minute. But here's the thing Paul's did never let the circumstances affect his mission. Okay? Um he was always focused on the mission, whether he was traveling, whether he was in prison. And and what a great lesson for all of us, because so many times we allow the circumstances of the moment, the political circumstances, economic circumstances, whatever it may be, circumstances, things on the outside to affect what's going on on the inside. That never happened with Paul. Now it took him a while to get there, but you know, he's there. And and so the question is if if you allow circumstances to change your opinion, your mood, your attitude, your joy, your focus, your mission, whatever it may be, if you're if you're that uh unstable that you allow what's going around you to affect your your what's going on inside of you, then I just challenge you to think about why that is. Um and Paul would say, you know, you need to be grounded in something that does not change. And the only thing that does not change is Jesus Christ. So he is saying, hey, you need to have a foundation of of uh in your life of of faith in Christ who does not change. Yeah, he's the same yesterday, today, and forever. And and so once that happens, then yes, circumstances come. I mean, he's written it in prison. Right. Um, you know, that could not be a a joyful time, but yet he did not allow the circumstances to alter his joy. And so in chapter four, he's talking about being joyful. Always give thanks in all circumstances, uh, for this is the will of God for you. And so um, so I think right there, before we even get into any specific uh chapter, verse, specifically chapter two, it's just phenomenal. Um, that is a great beginning lesson to just evaluate. Do I allow the circumstances around me to alter or change what's in me? And um, if you do, I I just encourage you to re-evaluate that.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, this is definitely a field map for you know being resilient and and and your mindset, I guess, under pressure, you know, is a a huge one. And and he he combats that with his joy, you know, anchored in Christ. Yeah. And that's that's what's kept him going. And you know, he even says it in some of his letters as as we're gonna talk about, how he he says, Don't worry about me, you know, and you know, we're we're good, you know, and you know, and there's a couple outcomes that could come out of this, but you know, we're I'm good right now. And then and that's it was very uni, um, very rewarding when you listen to uh how he presents um a couple of his ideas.
SPEAKER_02So and and we might not be where he is, okay, in in that whole joy b because of whatever circumstances. Um but but maybe that's a goal, you know, for the next year or two. So we'll just think about the two words, joy and happiness. The word hap, H A P means circumstances. So a lot of times we are dependent upon our circumstances whether we're going to be, quote, happy or not. Paul's saying, don't worry about the circumstance. Let's focus on the foundation of joy, okay? And joy to me is a total confidence that Christ has us in the palm of his hand, regardless of what's going on around, what's regardless of good or bad, that we are kept in the palm of God's hand. So so his he rests on that assurance. He's confident in the in the faithfulness of God. And um, and and so if you're not there, if you want to talk about those kind of things, please give us a call or write us an email, uh biblical leadership show.com. We'd be more than happy to have a conversation with you, either email, text, phone call, whatever it may be. Yeah, um, there's a place on the website to write your comments. We'd love to hear from you and uh start the conversation if you need to. So yeah.
SPEAKER_01Absolutely.
SPEAKER_02So there's uh chapter one. Um uh he's just really laying a foundation. Now, last in last week, uh, you know, uh when we talked about the book of Ephesians, uh the that that book was broken up into two major sections. The first three chapters were uh basic theology, and then the last three chapters were practicality. How do you implement what you believe? Um and and so um the the whole similar in the book of Philippians um and and yet Paul is begins his letter by just thanking the Philippians. He's just he's just thanking them. Um he said it's uh uh my prayer with for you is joy, I'm praying for you, and it's just filled with joy because we're partners. We're partners in the gospel from the very first day. And so I'm thinking, just think of the leadership principle of that one word, partnership. I wonder how many people that work for you believe they work for you or they work with you. Right. Okay. Are they partners or are they employees? Now, yes, you might write the check and all this kind of stuff, but the question is, how do they feel about that? Um do they feel like they are a partner in this adventure? Whatever that adventure is, you might could be making donuts, you know, you could be putting on tires, you know. Uh I remember in college, this true story, I'm just not a dad joke. I was a tire buster. That was one of the things I did for making money to help pay my way through college.
SPEAKER_01And what's a tire buster?
SPEAKER_02You like you know, discount tire, whatever you put on tires with tires and batteries and those kind of things, and uh antifreeze and stuff like that. And and uh I learned a lot because I had a good mentor, taught me how to do it. And and I saw him not just as a boss, I saw him as a mentor, teacher, partner to because we wanted the customers to be happy. So so he learned me how to do split rims, he learned me how to do, you know, balance tires, you know, rotate tires, all that kind of stuff. And um, and I still remember all of that. And so I'm thinking because I had a good partner in that in that work. And so the question would be how do we see the people that we're with? You know, if you're the coach of a softball team uh and you're a player, you know, you might be uh playing shortstop or first base or whatever it may be. Do your teammates see you as a team member or do they see you as like, oh gosh, he's the boss or whatever? So I think that partnership is a great word, great word. Sure. Absolutely. Yeah.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. So and and you know, I think the biggest thing that stood out for me is is just his confidence, you know, is his uh, you know, his I guess his advancement, you know, in in his faith and and and staying true to the gospel and and his mission. You know, we talked a lot about the mission last week.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, we did.
SPEAKER_01And I I think that was very his confidence really exudes in this in this first uh chapter.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, so let's just talk about that because at verse uh chapter one, verse 27, um Paul says, I come and see, uh let's just say, let your manner of life be worthy of the gospel of Christ, so that whether I come and see you or am absent, I may hear of you that you are standing firm in one spirit with one mind, striving side by side for the faith of the gospel. So so let's just talk about that verse as far as leadership. And and Paul is saying, stand fast in one spirit with striving together. Um so I think in between the lines, Paul is saying that culture isn't what you say, it's what you live. And and so mission isn't just something on the wall. Okay, it's what you actually do. And if what you say you're gonna do is not what you actually do, then I think you really need to think either what you do or what your mission is. And and that to me is a really good starting point. Anytime, but now at the beginning of the year, well, we're two months in, but still it's a good time to reevaluate.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, I think uh one of the things I took out of that and I wrote down, your why has to be bigger than your outcomes.
SPEAKER_02Oh, that's a great statement. Can you repeat that? I think that's really good.
SPEAKER_01Your why has to be bigger than your outcomes.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. I think that's uh a good direction, you know. And and if you're not familiar with Simon Sinney, go out and listen to his video, read his book on uh the power of why. That's uh a great book and great video series as well.
SPEAKER_02So yeah, and so you know, here's another thing from the end of chapter one. Um leadership is costly, right? We we shouldn't be surprised if leadership costs us something. Um and and that really is a segue into chapter two, um, talking about humility and those kind of things. Um, but leadership is costly, it's lonely.
SPEAKER_01It's sometimes it's lonely at the top. Sometimes it's time consuming. Sometimes a lot of times you, you know, you you're taken away from family, you have to do things, and you know, I I remember, you know, luckily I I'm can control my schedule a little bit, but I remember growing up in college and ran, you know, nightclubs and restaurants and stuff, and and uh I was talking to one of my friends here a week or so ago, and he came out of that business too, and it's like that that is one of the most trying businesses because you can't leave, right? It's you're working your 80 hours a week and you still feel like you should be there the rest of the the time, you know. And uh it's it's a non-stop, you know. So I know a lot of people go through that and different things in their businesses and and uh where they can't. So, you know, one of the things I always tell people and tell a lot of my real estate agents, you've got to control the business, don't let it control you. And and if you can learn to do that and and structure it and and set boundaries, uh, it's just gonna work out better for you in the long term.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, yeah. And so I'm thinking, um, I had this kind of picture because of what happened in the Dallas Fort Worth area here a couple weeks ago with all the snow and ice. You know, I'm thinking success sometimes is like an iceberg. You know, people see the top of the iceberg. They they see the accolades, they might see the bank account, the the car, the house, but what they don't see underneath is like the 80 to 90 percent. They don't see the the the good habits, uh the persistence, the daily goals, the determination, um, the sleepless night sometimes, the struggles. They they don't see all that. All they see is the top. And and so those of us who are leaders, we see all of that. And and you can't let uh the stuff that other people don't see drag you. It's hard, it's easy to drag, have you dragged down. Um, but that's why you need a good support system, uh, a good uh you know, coworker, friends, or uh, you know, good spouse, whatever, to really keep you going um when uh people only see just a little bit of the top.
SPEAKER_01Right. Yeah, yeah. For sure. You know, that support system's um very important and and I, you know, if you if you don't have one, there's there's always places to get a support system. Yeah, and and uh different people need different things. I'm I'm very internally motivated. I don't have you know a lot of uh, you know, I I say that I don't have a lot of need of we have a support system, but I internalize and make decisions pretty rapidly and and uh you know but even that even me as being uh uh somebody that doesn't feel like I need a support system, I still have that support system, you know. There's times that that you need that. Yeah, you need that.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, you need that. So let's go let's go into chapter two, because I think that's really the bulk. Well, chapter four is really good, but let's focus on chapter two. Um and I'm just gonna read the um first part of chapter two. Um, and then if you haven't heard it or haven't heard it in a long time, here's what uh Paul wrote about Christ. So if there is any encouragement in Christ, any conform of love, any participation in the Spirit, any affection and sympathy, complete my joy by being of the same mind, having the same love, being in full accord and of one mind. Here we go, verse three. Do nothing from selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves. Let each of you look not only to his own interest, but also to the interest of others, having this mind among yourselves, which is yours in Christ Jesus, though he was in the form of God, did not count equality with God a thing to be grasped, but emptied himself by taking the form of a servant, being born in the likeness of men, and being found in human form, he humbled himself by coming obedient to the point of death, even death on the cross. So let's just talk about humility. Humility is not thinking less of yourself, it's thinking of yourself less and thinking of others more. And and so um what a great example that is here. Um and and you know, I'm thinking that that um when when we're a leader and we're humble, I'm thinking we have a a something we've had in a long time. My brother was in the army he for a long, long time, um and he was stationed in Germany while I was in Germany, excuse me, um he bought us a cuckoo clock from the wood the forest uh in uh Germany, and we're still in our house today. And I'm thinking of the pendulum that swings back and forth, back and forth. And and let's just think of one side of the pendulum being independent, and the other side of the pendulum being totally dependent. But right in the middle is interdependent. And I think that's where a good leader is. They're interdependent, they're not independent of everybody, they're not totally dependent, they're in the interdependent, and so you you do what you can do, the other people do what they can do, and you you rely up each other, you depend upon each other to do their job, to keep focused on the mission, to build each other up. And like Paul says here, do not think more highly of yourself, but think of others. Try to build each other up.
SPEAKER_01Right. You know, I finally came. Up with a good joke about cuckoo clocks.
SPEAKER_02Oh, you did?
SPEAKER_01Yeah. It's about time.
SPEAKER_02It's about time. Yes, it is.
SPEAKER_01Anyway, I couldn't resist that one.
SPEAKER_02Well, it fit right with you teed that up.
SPEAKER_01It was time for you to tee it up.
SPEAKER_02It was. It was about time, right? Oh. So just think about that. I mean, just think about am I trying to be independent? Am I trying to be dependent? Am I trying to be interdependent? And here's a great thing that um that uh Tim slipped to me before the show, and that ego is the silent arsonist of teams.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Wow.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_02That is a powerful statement. I I just ego is the silent arsonist of teams.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, I've seen that so many times. I've worked with clients and and and managers and and uh a lot of times I, you know, I walk into a company, I'm called by HR to come in and and help and solve problems. And one of the biggest things that I do is I have everybody at the team fill out this big, I got this big 14-page survey, they fill it out, the manager fills it out, and the easiest way to figure out what's wrong is if you have everybody fill out a survey. And I guarantee it's like a roadmap and a big sign that's blinking with an arrow pointing that it's this person's fault. Um and it's it's amazing. So if you ever have any problems like that, just create a big survey, have everybody do it, and you're gonna find out exactly what it is that needs to be fixed without having to go in and fix it. So yeah, yeah. Or call me, I'll come in. Yeah, come in, you know, yeah, I'll charge you to do it. But you know, yeah, I definitely will.
SPEAKER_02So in counseling, in counseling, we call that the identified patient. So if you have a teenager that's acting out or whatever, which is you know, a lot of times the case, um, you have a teenager that's troubled or this or that, a lot of times you go to counseling because the parents want the kid to go to counseling. Okay. Well, maybe the reason and the kid is quote the what we call the identified patient. Okay. Um, well, the real issue isn't the kid. The real issue is the parents. Yeah, a lot of times. Okay, a lot of times it is. And and so instead of instead of just focusing on one person, you gotta focus on the entire family and what's going on the dynamic-wise that is creating this child, whatever age, to act out the way they are, whatever that might mean. And um, if you can allow people to see a bigger picture of the dynamic of the family, uh, you can be very successful in family counseling. It's not just individual counseling. I had to learn that, well, I learned that a long, long time ago. It's been a very effective tool in counseling families over the years. Um, I think the same thing might be true uh with a business. You know, you have some issues, you go in, you count, you you know, consult businesses all over the country. Um, you travel and you you you fill out the survey and you think, hmm, I wonder what this is. And then you think, oh, well, it might not be the identified employee. It might be some other things that are going on that's causing that problem.
SPEAKER_01Systems, you know, morale, culture, all kinds of stuff.
SPEAKER_02Language, attitude, humility, non-humility, ego. It could be all kinds of things that are causing that. But uh, yeah. So all right, so so um we go from um chapter uh three, uh, I mean chapter two. Um and and then I'm I'm just gonna skip over not chapter three is not important. Chapter three is important, but I think we should just um uh skip go into chapter just because of time, let's skip to chapter four. Um and and chapter four, um just think about this. Paul is in prison. He spent a lot of time in prison for his faith. Okay, he was paying the consequences for his beliefs. Okay. And and the question is, as a leader, are you willing to pay the consequences of your decisions? Okay. I I teach I try to teach this to young people when when you make a decision, you're actually making two decisions at the same time. You're making a decision for whatever it is, yes, no, buy this, buy that, what, what do this, dot do that, whatever. You're making a decision for the the thing, but you're also making the decision for the consequence. And and sometimes we know the consequence immediately, sometimes we don't know the consequence, sometimes we'll never see the consequence, sometimes the consequence is in our life, sometimes the consequence is in someone else's life, someone else pays the consequence for our for our decisions, and sometimes we pay the consequences for their decisions. So Paul is standing up for his faith. He's in prison, okay? And yet he says this in verse four, chapter four, verse four. Rejoice in the Lord always. Again I say rejoice. Wow. Right. What a lesson for all of us. You know, he was not gonna allow, like we said at the beginning, he was not gonna allow his circumstances to dictate his joy. Okay, his joy was based in something that in someone who was inshakable and um and steadfast and faithful. And um and then he says this in verse six do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your request be named known to God, and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ. Now that the verse seven, I won't I don't want to get into too technical of the Greek any word, but that that uh peace of God that's it will guard your heart. That that word guard your heart is a military term, like a garrison around a city. And um, and it's like you know, you you put out this uh this four these forces, these uh military people, to guard a city. And that's what Paul is saying that that the peace of God will do to your heart. It will guard your heart from those kind of onslaughts of discouragement, disappointment, those kind of things. So so I would encourage you as a leader um where is faith in your life? Um and and um I would encourage you to um seek the peace of God. Um and it might be, you know, you have a lunch hour or a lunch 30 minutes. Uh we said this in a previous episode, go out and and walk. Um, you might go walk and talk with God. You might go walk and just be outside. You might sit there in your in your desk for five minutes, read a passage of scripture, and just pray. Uh ask God for wisdom, ask God for guidance, ask God for peace. Um God will always answer the prayers. Um and um and so then he goes on finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is anything in excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things. And I'm just thinking, what a great leadership principle that you need to focus on the positive. Yeah, we're not trying to be Pollyannish, we're not trying to, you know, cover up anything that might be bad.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, you're not trying to pretend nothing's hard, nothing's bad. It's just address it and and take the positive route.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, and and what do you focus on? Because it's so easy to focus on the negative. It is so easy.
SPEAKER_01Especially in the world we live in. I mean, everything that's negative sales, you know. That's that's one of the things that that you know, our news is set up, our magazines, every everything's set up because that's what's conditioned, right?
SPEAKER_02So and and so um, you know, I I just encourage you, um leadership, leadership is verified through action rather than just words. Um and uh he's he's talking about whatever leadership level you are at, um that your actions speak volumes about what you really believe, what your core principles are, what your mission is, what your values are.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_02And so uh yeah.
SPEAKER_01So yeah, so challenge you to put a a filter on, you know, think about all the the stuff it's you're bringing in and and what you're consuming, and then think about what you're repeating, what you're putting out to your your managers, your family, your your friends, and and just put that thought filter on and and think about it more this week.
SPEAKER_02So yeah, so my wife leads a Bible study on Thursday nights, and um, and I don't remember the book that they are studying right now, um, but it's uh talks about every thought that we have in our mind does not have to come out of our mouth. Yeah. Okay. We need to have a filter that um, you know, we have a thought, doesn't mean it needs to be expressed. Sometimes we need to filter that, just keep it to ourselves. Uh if we do have a thought, then the question is how are you gonna say that? Are we it's gonna be say to encourage people, to lift them up? Even if it's um, let's just say positive um correction, uh, you can say that without slamming somebody. So how you say it, tone of voice, is so, so important. Yeah.
SPEAKER_01Absolutely.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. So all right.
SPEAKER_01Well, well, time flies when we're having fun.
SPEAKER_02It does. Yes. Okay, so here you go.
SPEAKER_01Okay.
SPEAKER_02What do you call a paper air plane that doesn't fly?
SPEAKER_01Um, piece of paper. How about stationary? Oh, nice. Nice. You know, if I ever find the doctor screwed up my limb replacement surgery, I'm gonna kill him with my bare hands.
SPEAKER_02Oh you know, I was going through um old uh downtown uh Fort Worth on Saturday. We were at a wedding, and um there was some, you know, old shops and stuff, and there was this one shop that had an ad in the window that said television for sale, one dollar, volume steck on stuck on full. And I thought, wow, I can't turn that down.
SPEAKER_01Nice. Uh I came off a plane last week and I had a problem, and and uh the guy next to me uh said something to his phone and said, Siri, and my phone picked up and it said, Don't call me Shirley. Apparently, I still left my phone in airplane mode.
SPEAKER_02Oh, you know, I can't understand how people have a hard time sleeping. Uh you know, I can do I can do it with my eyes closed.
SPEAKER_01Nice, nice.
SPEAKER_02Oh. Well, you got any more dad jokes?
SPEAKER_01Oh, I've I've actually got a few to do.
SPEAKER_02You do?
SPEAKER_01Yeah. What was Forrest Gump's password?
SPEAKER_02Uh I've I've heard this.
SPEAKER_01One force one. There we go.
SPEAKER_02Okay, so what do you get when you cross a chicken and a cow?
SPEAKER_01Chicken and a cow. Um don't know. Roost beef. Oh wow. I don't know about that one. I was just going different directions.
SPEAKER_02So you know, I s I went to, you know, you have a lot of vinyl up here on your wall here in the studio. I think it's really awesome. So I was at a record store the other day and they were selling used uh records, and it said um there was a a sign above it that said, All sales are vinyl.
SPEAKER_01Nice. So if a ship carrying red paint and a ship carrying blue paint collide in the middle of the ocean, what's that again? If a ship carrying, what happens when a ship carrying red paint collides with a ship carrying blue paint in the middle of the ocean?
SPEAKER_02You have a mess.
SPEAKER_01Nah, they all become marooned.
SPEAKER_02Oh, they come marooned. Oh my goodness. Oh my gosh. Oh, that's not good. Yeah, just spilt some water. Spilled some water. How come frogs are such good liars? I don't know. Because they are amphibians. Oh, nice. Okay, what is a doorbell's favorite dessert? I'll end with this one. This is this one. Okay, what is a doorbell's favorite dessert? Um Ding dongs.
