Vault Episode 6: Honest Eatery - Lorin Warner

Erik Nilsson

Food has an extraordinary power to connect us across cultures, create community, and transform cities—a truth Lorin Warner discovered during his years traveling the world as a consultant. After meeting his wife abroad and experiencing diverse food cultures, the couple recognized something essential missing from Salt Lake City's culinary landscape.

This episode revisits my fascinating conversation with Lorin, the visionary founder behind Honest Eatery, who shares how his global experiences directly shaped the creation of this beloved local establishment. His story weaves together international influences, entrepreneurial spirit, and a deep belief that authentic food experiences can bring people together in meaningful ways. Lauren's journey from world traveler to local food pioneer offers a compelling lens through which to understand how global perspectives can transform local communities.

Since our original conversation, Honest Eatery has continued to thrive and expand, recently opening their newest location in South Jordan—a testament to how powerfully their vision of health-focused, community-oriented dining resonates with Salt Lake residents. Whether you're craving a smoothie, an açaí bowl, or simply a welcoming space to connect, Lauren's creation offers something special. If you haven't experienced Honest Eatery yet, consider this your invitation to discover one of Salt Lake's most authentic food destinations. Listen to discover how one entrepreneur's global journey created a local culinary landmark that continues to nourish our community.

What is up everybody and welcome back to the Small Lake City Podcast. I'm your host, eric Nilsson, and this week we are revisiting one of the early episodes with Lauren Warner, the founder of Honest Eatery. Now Lauren's episode is one that I really enjoy because of the perspective it gives of him traveling the world, consulting, meeting his wife in another country and bringing something to Salt Lake that was so important to them food and how it brings people together. So great episode with a great guy. If you haven't been to Honest Eatery, go check it out. There's multiple locations. They just opened up their most recent location in South Jordan, so go check that out if you haven't yet. Whether you need a smoothie, an acai bowl or some other food, it's a great spot to have and I'm so grateful to have them in the community.
