I mean , I think rules can have a very I mean for me , for us a very negative connotation , but we could also , I think , agree that rule is synonymous with a principle , a guideline , a mantra , a sort of true north of sorts , and that has tremendous value . But this is a quote by an individual named Jim Rohn who was a self-development sort of business author and speaker back in the day . But Jim said if you don't design your own life plan , chances are you'll fall into someone else's plan and guess what they have planned for you ? Not much , yeah . Now for context . He spoke and kind of addressed a lot of people who are , whatever self-employed , kind of charting their own course , business owners , whatever .
