EPI 77 - We Don’t Need Another Plan: We Need a Paradigm Shift
Hey friend — welcome back to The Habit Within! I’m Camille Kinzler, and today I want to talk about something I know so many of us wrestle with: the constant search for the “right plan.”
You know the cycle… a new diet, a new workout, a new productivity hack. We jump in, hoping this will finally be the thing that fixes everything — only to feel defeated when it doesn’t stick. But here’s the truth: we don’t need another plan. We need a paradigm shift.
In this episode, I share why shifting the way we think about health, energy, and habits matters so much more than adding one more checklist to our lives.
In this episode, I explore:
- Why chasing the “perfect plan” keeps us stuck in cycles of burnout and frustration
- What it actually looks like to shift your paradigm instead of your plan
- How I’ve been personally working through this in my own life (and why I know you’ll relate)
- The small mindset shifts that create sustainable change — not just another short-term fix
- Why grace, presence, and alignment will always outlast rigid rules and routines
This isn’t about throwing out structure altogether — it’s about creating space for a new way of seeing yourself, your habits, and your health.
I’d love to know:
What paradigm are you ready to shift? Share your reflections with me — I love hearing your stories and aha moments.

And this is the first day that I really feel like I'm able to just really reflect on all of the things that I had been learning and researching over the summer. So not only did we do some family travel and moving and all of that stuff I've been speaking about, I also have been doing a lot of research specifically around health, wellness, healing, and really trying to find the truth behind it all. Welcome to The Habit Within.
This podcast is for high achieving women, 35 and older who seem to have it all together, but feel like they're constantly running on fumes, struggling to balance it all and losing sight of the woman they used to be. I'm Camille Kinsler, a former physician assistant turned transformational coach blending science, positive psychology, and a metaphysical approach to habits, health, and vitality. If you've ever asked yourself, why am I so exhausted even after a full night's sleep? Or I feel like I'm juggling so much, but I'm just barely keeping my head above water.
You are in the right place. Each week we'll explore the real reasons behind feeling overwhelmed, trapped in the cycle of overworking, and constantly running low on energy, and how to break free from the patterns keeping you stuck in survival mode. It's time to stop living on autopilot and to start feeling like yourself again.
Let's dive in. Hey, welcome back. This is Camille and I am your host of The Habit Within podcast.
And this is the first solo episode that I'm going to be recording since I got back from summer vacation. I say summer vacation, but really just summer, right? With having the kids around. So the kids are back in school.
It's been a total of four days that they've been there. And this is the first day that I really feel like I'm able to just really reflect on all of the things that I had been learning and researching over the summer. So not only did we do some family travel and moving and all of that stuff I've been speaking about, I also have been doing a lot of research specifically around health, wellness, healing, and really trying to find the truth behind it all, which is I think going to be my life's mission.
And so I'll talk more about that as we go through today's episode. But I'm going to call today's episode something like why the system is failing us and what you can do instead. I'm going to pull back on those five pillars that I created back in episode 69.
So if you want to check that out, go ahead and do that. But we're going to go deeper in that today. I'm going to share with you those five pillars of health and give you a little bit more depth as to the research that I've been doing and how it pertains to each of these pillars.
And then, you know I like series, right? So I'll do a five-part series after today's episode where we're really going to dive more deeply into each one of those pillars and why it means something and matters to not only myself but to you as well. Because what I'm gathering is the people who listen to this, the women who listen to this, are really interested in the truth. The truth behind their thoughts and their beliefs but also their bodies.
What their bodies are really up to. And they want to know their body more intimately and really not just take the pill. Although not against taking the pill.
If they do decide to take a pill, they want to be able to know that it's not something that they'll have to take for the rest of their lives. Maybe it's just supportive, the bridge medicine to get them to feeling better, more alive, more energetic, more vital to do the things that they really want to do in life. So like I've mentioned, I've also been in full-on research mode and some of the incredible fascinating modalities I've been looking into are this area of genomics where we look at your own personal DNA, your DNA, and your epigenetics.
And then I've also been looking at, which seems like the complete opposite spectrum, homeopathy. Using homeopathy to treat chronic illnesses. So maybe you may have heard about homeopathy such as Arnica or these teething tablets that we would give our littles.
But there is so much more to homeopathy that I've been learning about. And then of course the good old standards of hormone and peptide therapy. I've been looking at that in a different way.
Like how can we really cycle hormones, sex hormones like estrogen, progesterone, testosterone, and maybe even how we can use peptide therapy, not only GLP-1 agonist, but other types of peptides to really give ourselves a boost. And I'm meaning really at a microdose level. So you might have heard about microdosing on the internet somewhere from some influencer.
They're actually just talking about standard dose, like the small starting dose. Microdosing is actually not even really a medical term. It's called subclinical dosing.
But basically it's droplets of these peptides versus these starting doses and how they can have tremendous effects on the cell. So I've been really researching and diving deeply into that. And yeah, I mean, the reason for it is, well, first off, if something is trending like hormone and peptide therapy, then I really like to dive into it and make sure that we aren't just chasing something that's a trend.
Because in my 20 years of experience, I've seen a lot of trends and a lot of things that were once gold standard fall out. And we just want to make sure that we're really getting the whole picture, not saying that we can't try something and pivot. But yeah, like how can we best use these things as bridge medicine to make us feel better without it doing us harm or just not really doing anything, but we're putting a lot of money into it or worse off where we rebound and we're worse than we kind of came into the whole thing.
So the reason for looking at genomics and homeopathy is because I'm really into them missing, like really trying to find like these missing elements to women's health specifically. And so when we can become more precise in how we treat, then yeah, that sounds a positive for me. And then there's also something in deeply innate, there's something like primal, there's something deeper, there's something more resonant that is out there.
(7:16 - 9:16)
The reason why we're drawn to nature, the reason why we're drawn to the sun, that I feel homeopathy plays a role in. So yeah, so really finding where the coherence is within homeopathy is also something that I'm interested in too. And you know, it's all about just the respect of the whole woman.
So if you like any of that, then follow me for the next several episodes. This is kind of the direction where I'm headed. But yeah, so if you followed along at all that, you know that if there is a rabbit hole, and at the bottom of that rabbit hole, there might be the meaning of life and I am going to follow it.
Yeah, so I really like the deep, the deep wells of wisdom are so important to me. And that's why I like hearing from you guys. I want to hear about your wells of wisdom as well.
And I have to say, like, I'm kind of hesitant to share sometimes on the podcast, this part of me that's the seeker, the wanderer, the one that's super curious, because I'm also a practitioner. And at times you I often wonder, like, well, people think that I'm credible when I'm talking about how I'm always investigating and trying to find the deeper truth. Now we can take the truth as we know it, or I can take the truth as I know it, or I can journey with you.
And to where we put our truths together in order to figure out your path to wellness and to healing and to vitality and feeling energized. And that's beautiful. And I'm always seeking to learn more.
So just wanted to let you guys know that I so often I'm like, Oh, should I wait until I know it all before I share but, you know, then I'm on to the next thing. I'm on to the next learning. So why not? Let's just learn together.
(9:16 - 18:59)
And I'm so over people pretending that they have it all figured out when really, if you the more that you know, the more that you know, that you don't know, right? The saying goes something like that. So I don't want to, you know, I don't want to, I want us to be on this journey together, needless to say, what I do know, that is for sure, is that after 20 years of being a medical provider, and women's wellness is how to listen to you deeply, how to listen to my body. Although I have to say this summer, I've ignored her tremendously.
And so she and I, I've done a lot of soul searching today. But yeah, I love listening to stories, my story, your story. And I really believe that through that, we can get to the bottom of your, of what's really driving your symptoms.
And actually, and what's really motivating you to heal, because the truth be told is that you have to see yourself as healed, you have to know in some way what that looks like, in order to get there. Because we so often get stuck in the habit of, of not feeling well. And like I said, this summer has been very interesting for me, physically.
And I noticed that that the way that I've been feeling in my body has been a lot louder than what I know to be true. And I haven't allowed myself that space in order to really tap into her and to slow down and to decrease that cortisol. So anyway, this episode, we're going to be starting these bigger conversations and dismantle what I feel like isn't working.
So we can really rebuild a foundation that is really more true for you. So many, many women that I know, that I get phone calls with friends, clients, even older women who are looking back on their lives and reflecting on their perimenopausal journey or menopause. And we feel like we are doing all of the right things, or we're doing a lot of the right things.
We might be eating clean, doing the 80-20 rule, we might be getting some quiet time or meditation and moving our bodies, you know, taking the supplements. Heck, we might be even taking prescription medications that we still feel exhausted and anxious and inflamed and out of sync. And hello, that was my summer.
But despite having all of the information and me even being a medical provider and having access to things that you guys might not even have access to, we still feel more overwhelmed and confused than ever. And just an FYI, I got off of Instagram a month or two ago. If you have been following me on there, you might have noticed that I'm not posting any stories anymore.
And that is because I noticed that I was getting overwhelmed and confused by just the influencers alone. Which, when I really took a step back, you know, fine, do what you got to do. But it started to be really frustrating because I started feeling FOMO, even though when I really sat there and thought about it, I wasn't, I didn't have this fear of missing out.
However, there was something that was triggering me in my body feeling like I was. And so I just want you guys a little drop is just to check that, you know, on whatever social media platform you love and that you are obsessed with, just really, it's important to really check in to see how it feels in your body. Because when we see these influencers, and maybe even their their providers, or just straight up ads, and it can really make us make us bounce from one fix to another, hoping that this will be the answer.
And y'all, we don't need another plan. And this is what I was really telling myself when I was jotting down where I am in my health journey, what I feel is the right next step in my health journey, how can I find the support that I need in my health journey, which I have to say, as a practitioner, I'm extremely picky and who I choose. But we don't need this.
We don't need another plan. We need a true just paradigm shift. So that's what we're doing.
We're building these. I've created these five pillars, which is your new paradigm. So what I really hope that you'll do is you'll come back to these when you yourself are finding that you are looking for the shiny, like that, you know, the next shiny object or the quick fix.
So yeah, so the number one pillar is really reminding ourselves that the center is the woman that you belong at the center of your wellness. It's not your labs. It's not your to do list.
It's not somebody else's idea of balance. It's truly you. It's your story.
It's what you're feeling. It's what you're experiencing. And how that story is centered, that is the most important thing.
And so when you are coming to, you know, speak to a practitioner or speak to somebody else who are a coach or somebody about where you are in your wellness journey, that you make sure that your story is being told. And so writing your story out, I think is so critical, not only with the words, but you can use lab numbers to share, to start painting the picture. Your story of where you want to be and why you want to feel differently than you do right now is centered to you as a woman.
And when I'm speaking about the center is the woman, the center is you, is that it's also important that you get silent and you gain some clarity around what you feel like is the next best step. Because it can be so often can get persuaded, persuaded, influenced. And this is like pinnacle.
This is like the most important. And again, it's something that I worked through today, myself, I really kind of jotting down where am, where do I want to go? What are some of the tools that I think could get me there? Number two of the pillar is this idea of bio uniqueness. So that really is going to be your blueprint.
And this is where genomics comes in. This is where I get very fascinated with, it's a, it's a, um, a swab of the inside of your mouth. And it really looks at your DNA and it shows clues as to what foods and supplements and medications are supportive to you.
Because even some supplements that you might have heard about online actually don't work with your DNA because of the way that a particular gene has been turned on or off. So I'm super excited about learning more about genomics. It's called precision medicine and it's powerful.
And it teaches us that what works for one woman might not work for another one. So you can see something working really beautifully, like, um, like estrogen in one woman. And then you actually noticed in your DNA that you process estrogen differently.
And actually you might have a buildup of estrogen in your body. And so taking more estrogen actually makes you feel crummy, even if your blood test looks differently. So I'm really excited about adding this into my practice at some point.
Number three. So the third pillar is quantum wholeness. And this is where homeopathy, I think really sparked something within me.
Homeopathy has been around for like 300 years. There actually used to be homeopathic hospitals, which I think is so rad. And there's a homeopath in Australia.
I can't recall her name right now, but she's actually wanting to create homeopathic hospitals again. And in the past, homeopathic hospitals actually partnered with allopathic practitioners in order to help treat their patients, which is so beautiful. But homeopathy really works in the subtle energetic field of the body.
And yeah, I mean, there's something to it. At least it speaks to me about the waters within our body and the way that the way that these remedies are created. Frequency medicine speaks to something far greater than what we can see and touch.
I think it might even communicate with the waters within our body. And homeopathic remedies, what the main principle is, is that like cures like. And basically that means that the substance that caused the symptoms in a healthy person can be used in a highly, highly diluted form to treat similar symptoms in a sick person.
(19:00 - 22:04)
You know, so it's used for everything. And it's really fascinating. And it doesn't cause any harm, which is really important.
So you'll hear more about homeopathy, I believe, as the months unfold. And then pillar number four is root cause reverence. And this is where hormones and peptides and bridge medicine and supplements and all of the things and light and nature, all of those things are beautiful tools.
And this is really when we're not, when our bodies aren't optimal, when our cells are depleted, when our mitochondria needs repair, when our hormones need tweaking, when we might need a little assistance with our thyroid hormone or our one of our sex hormones, then we need to do that as we're really looking at what is our root cause, right? Do we need to get more sunlight? Do we need to get more involved in nature? Do we need to de-stress our lives? And recognizing that, you know, we might have something that shows that, that we can give a, give a little band-aid to as we're really going down into the root cause. And then number five, pillar number five is the collective ripple, which I feel like is so important because your healing isn't just about you, okay? When one woman heals, she shifts the entire field, her family, her lineage, her community. It's so strong.
When you glow, they grow. So these pillars are the foundation. I wish every woman was handed.
And I'm really curious, like what resonated most with you? Do you feel like these align and something that really feels like truth to you? It's fine if they don't, if it feels like this is kind of off track, I want to know that too. But we do know that something is wrong with the system. And even like some of the stuff that I was taught along the way, I've, digging deeper into it, I've recognized that it actually had been debunked a long time ago.
We just haven't updated our systems yet. And I don't want to wait around. So here I am sharing my truth with you as I know it, writing my life in pencil.
So why this matters more than ever is that there is a, an extremely high volume of wellness advice out there. And it's really hard to find clarity in it, even for somebody who is well-researched and educated as I am in medicine and the human body. And I'm sometimes find myself jotting in the noise that more options and more protocols, just can really seriously leave us exhausted and overwhelmed.
And we sometimes just need to return to our center. And so that's what we're doing and remembering that what I'm handing you here is not a protocol. We're just reorienting.
(22:05 - 23:39)
So each of the next five episodes, we're going to dive deeper into the pillars, why, what it means, why it matters and how to reconnect it with your own life. So again, you do not have to agree with everything. Just notice what really lands in your body and then follow that resonance and let that be your reset.
So if this episode spoke to you, will you please share it with a friend who's maybe feeling burned out or like they need to try harder or somebody who is ready to really feel like herself again, this is really helpful if you could do that. And if you're feeling like, you know, that you're needing some assistance right now, then come and jump on. I have a 90 minute reset session, one-on-one where we deep dive, we can look into your labs, your symptoms, your stress, but most importantly, your truth and your story.
So the link for that is in the show notes. So I hope that you loved this episode as much as I loved making it for you. And until next time, remember that next week, we're going to dive into pillar number one, where we're really looking at the woman is the center.
You are the center and what that really means. Okay. Until next time.
The world needs the vibrance and wisdom of a woman's intuition to help heal the world. When we learn to trust ourselves through leaning into and through discomfort, we learn to trust ourselves and in that space is our power and clarity.
