In this episode of the Life of a Business Manager podcast, we welcome Steven Puri, the creator of Sukha. Steven’s story is a fascinating one — he started out in the world of Hollywood, working in the entertainment industry, before making the leap into tech. Along the way, he picked up lessons on leadership, creativity, and resilience that shaped his next big move: building Sukha, a company focused on wellness, balance, and living with intention.
A little background about our guest.
Steven Puri is the Founder and CEO of The Sukha Company with the mission to help millions of people find their focus, achieve more and have a healthy work life.
His career has spanned media, film, and technology, beginning as a newscaster before moving into software engineering at IBM. After studying at USC, he produced visual effects for blockbuster films like Independence Day, later founding Centropolis Effects, which he sold by age 28.
Steven went on to work in Hollywood as VP of Development & Production at 20th Century Fox and EVP at DreamWorks, contributing to franchises such as Die Hard, Wolverine, Star Trek, and Transformers.
Returning to tech, he launched The Sukha Company, inspired by the Sanskrit word for “happiness from self-fulfillment.” The Sukha is a focus app that bundles all the tools necessary to have a focused experience and a healthy, productive workday.
Today, he continues his mission of helping people lead more focused, productive, and balanced lives. Steven now resides in Austin, Texas.
