The Commonwealth Beat with Laura LeBeau - Episode 55 - 10/13/2024

The Commonwealth Beat with Laura LeBeau is a statewide Public Affairs program airing on all of the Seven Mountains Media Pennsylvania radio stations. 

Among the statewide races that will be on the ballot November 5th is the race for PA Treasurer, pitting incumbent Republican Treasurer Stacy Garrity against Democratic challenger, Erin McClelland. After a surprise win in the Democratic Party primary in May, McClelland has spent the summer criss-crossing the state to make herself, and the office of PA Treasurer, better known.  She discusses her candidacy and the reasons she believes Pennsylvania needs a change at the top of the state treasury.  

As Floridians deal with yet another devastating hurricane slamming into the Sunshine State last week, a replay of a conversation with Laura Burke, Executive Director of the American Red Cross Greater Pennsylvania region, as officials try to find more volunteers to help those devastated by Hurricanes Helene, and now Milton.
