Hello everyone. I want to thank you for joining us today. If only you had to obey God, the blessing hidden in God's command. Our main text today come from the Word of God in the book of Isaiah 48, verse 18. You read like this if only you had paid attention to my commands, your peace would have been like a river, your well being like the waves of the sea. These are the words of God, and we are going to examine it today. May the Lord bless his word in our hearts. Amen. If only you have paid attention to my commands, your peace will have been like a river, your well-being like the waves of the sea. Those words are heavy. They stink, they cut through pride, excuses, delay, and self-deception. They are not just words, they are the cry of missed moment, forfeited peace, delay blessing and battle that never had to happen. Wake up to faith hour. Where we are reminded that obedience to God is never a burden, but a pathway to blessing. The God who loves us beyond measures has given us his word to guide our step. And through his amazing grace, he empowers us to walk in his ways. Brethren, listen to me when I say this. No one has ever loved you more than God, and no one has ever given wiser counsel than his word. The book of Proverbs, chapter 2, verse 6, provides a wise insight for us when he wrote this. Know what human minds cannot know, and accomplishes what human strength can never achieve. Those who trust in their own understanding eventually stumble, but those who walk in God's wisdom walk on a path illuminated by His truth. When we respond to God's command with love, faithful obedience, and depending upon His abundant grace, we discover a life filled with divine peace, purpose, and the blessing of His presence. I pray that today's message draws you closer to the heart of God. Amen. Please stay with us as we discover the blessing hidden in wholehearted obedience to the Lord. Brothers and sisters, one of the most heartbreaking moments in life is looking back and realize that a great deal of pain could have been avoided if we are simply listening to the wise counsel of God. Many people carry regret because they ignore warning, rejected advice, or refused to follow instruction that we are given for their own good. It is painful to look back over lost opportunities, broken relationship, financial mistake, spiritual failure, and unnecessary suffering, and say, if only I had listened. There are marriages so far and unfortunately still suffering today because one or both spouses ignore God's command concerning humility, purity, forgiveness, gentleness, and sacrificial love. When chaos enters their homes, they ask God for peace. Why? Violating the principle that produces it. Right now, as I'm talking to you, their believers are drowning and sinking in anxiety because they have obeyed every voice of the world except God's voice. They listen to news, fair trend, influenza, trauma, and worst case scenario, but they do not let scripture rule their thought. Then they wonder why peace is absent. But peace is not hidden in panic. Peace is hidden in obedience. There are young people praying for purpose while sleeping without discipline, asking for destiny while flirting with compromise, begging God to use them while resisting the character required to carry the oil of holiness. There are ministries asking for revival while tolerating what God said remote. You cannot host the Holy Spirit while cognate disobedience. Fire force on surrender heart, not stubborn heart, and hear me, hear me well. This is not about legalism. This is not about earning salvation through perfect behavior. We are saved by grace through faith. And speaking about grace, let us make something crystal clear. The book of Titus, chapter 2, verse 11 to 12, is shouting to us on the rooftop that the grace that's safe also teaches us to deny ungodliness. For the grace of God has a pair that offers salvation to all people. It teaches us to say no to ungodliness and worldly passion and to live self-control, upright, and godless life, and godly life in this present age. True grace does not make rebellion comfortable. True grace empowers obedience from the heart. The grace that encourages you to do whatever you like against God's wisdom and word is not a biblical grace. It is a man-made grace. I would like to repeat what I just said. The grace that gives you permission to ignore God's command, reject his wisdom, and live according to your own desire is not biblical grace. It is a counterfeit invented by men to comfort people in their rebellion while leading them away from the truth of God. God's grace was never given as it lasts to continue in sin. It was given as the power to overcome sin. Any message that encourages people to remain comfortable in disobedience while claiming God's approval is a dangerous distortion of the gospel. Imagine two young men standing at the edge of a raging river. A huge sign was posted by the authorities. The first young man reads the sign, trust the warning, and walk away. He returned home safely, enjoy life, and tell others about the danger he avoided. The second young man laughs at the warning, he believes he knows better. He ignored the sign, entered the water, and is soon caught by a powerful current. What was intended to protect him because something he rejected. The consequences is not because the sign was evil. The consequences come because the warning was ignored. The difference between the two men is not intelligence. It is not their race or skin color. It is not about being rich or poor. The difference is obedience. Many people think God's commands are restrictions designed to make life difficult. Nothing could be further from the truth. God's commands are not present bars. They are guide race. They are not chains. They are protection. They are not burden designed to destroy us. They are instruction designed to preserve us. Every parent understands when I say this. In loving parents telling the child, do not touch that fire. The child may think the parent is limiting freedom. In reality, the parent is preventing pain. Listen, God's command operates the same way. God does not command us because he enjoys controlling us. God commands us because he can see what we cannot see. He knows where the bridge is out. He knows where your sinful flesh will take you. He knows where compromise will land you. He knows what the enemy has prepared on the road of disobedience. And every time God says no, it is because it is because he loves you too much to let you destroy yourself. Every time God says wait, it is because the timing matters. Every time God says come out, it is because judgment is coming. And every time God says obey, it is because there's a blessing hidden inside the instruction. The tragedy of our generation is that many people want God's blessing without God's instruction. They want God's promises without God's principle. They want God's protection without God's authority. They want heaven without holiness, salvation without surrender, and peace without obedience. Yet God says through Isaiah, if only you are pay attention to my command. The phrase, if only, immediately capture our attention because it speaks the language of regret. Many people know what it feels like to say, if only I had listened. Many know what it feels like to say, if only I had obeyed God. Many know what it feels like to say, if only I had followed his word instead of my feelings. God is showing us through this passage that obedience carries blessing that many people never experience because they refuse to follow his command. If only. What a painful word. If only if only you had listened, if only you had obeyed, if only you have trusted me, if only you have followed my ways. God is not speaking because he needs our obedience. No, God is speaking because we need the blessing hidden inside obedience. Today, when we discover that every command of God contains a blessing waiting to be released, the first truth we learn from this passage is that God's command are expression of his love. When we look at the previous verse, Isaiah 48 17, this is what the Lord says, our Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel. I am the Lord your God who teaches you what is best for you, who directs you in the way you should go. Notice what God says. Not what is convenient for him, not what is profitable for him, what is best for you. When the wisdom of God goes by your life, confusion gives way to clarity, fear gives way to faith, and disorder give way to define direction. One word of God's wisdom from God can accomplish more than years of human reasoning and airless human effort. The devil has spent thousands of years convincing humanity that God is withholding something good. That was the lie in the Garden of Eden. The serpent essentially told him, God is keeping something from you. Humanity has believed that lie ever since. People look at God's command concerning purity, honesty, forgiveness, humility, generosity, worship, and holiness and assume God is trying to reduce their happiness. The truth is exactly the opposite. The wisdom of God often appears foolish to a rebellious world. Yet it has never failed, never been surprised, and never made a mistake. Empires rises and fall. Philosophies come and go, but the wisdom of God remains eternally perfect and unshakably true. God knows what destroyed life because he created life. The manufacturer always understands the product better than the user. A car manufacturer provides an instructional manual because they understand how the vehicle operates. God gave his word because he understands how human beings function. When God says do not lie, he is protecting trust. When God says do not steal, he is protecting relationships. When God says do not commit adultery, he is protecting family. When God says forgive, he is protecting your heart from bitterness. When God says seek first his kingdom, he is protecting you from wasting your life on temporary things. Every command of God carry loves behind it. The cross proved that beyond all doubt. The God who gave his son for you is not trying to ruin your life, he's trying to save it. Many people have committed fornication or adultery and later suffer devastating consequences, including broken families, damaged reputation, and even life-threatening diseases. Others have stolen, been caught, and found themselves facing imprisonment and disgrace. If we are honest, many of the sin people commit do not end with the act itself. They often return with painful consequences that affect not only the sinners but also their children, spouses, and loved ones. Same promises pleasures for a moment, but it frequently leaves behind a tray of sorrow, regret, and suffering. These are the truths all of us can testify to, brothers and sisters. Disobedience always costs more than it promises. One of Satan's greatest deception is making sin appear cheap. Have you noticed that sin always advertises pleasures and enjoyment? It never advertises consequences. No temptation introduces himself by saying I'm here to destroy your marriage. No temptation introduces himself by saying I'm here to ruin your future. No temptation introduces himself by saying I'm here to rob you of your peace. Sin never shows the hook, it always shows the bed. That is this tragedy of disobedience. Rebellion advertises freedom and delivers bondage. Comprise promises pleasure and produce zero. Disobedience always hides the hook beneath the bait. The devil never say, Come, do this and lose your peace. He never says ignore God and wreck your family. He never say follow your flesh and open the door to torment. No. He dresses rebellion up like libration. He paints sin in bright colors. He makes disobedient look modern, reasonable, and harmless. But when the season changes and the harvest coming, you discover that what you call freedom was really captivity, wearing makeup. Look at Adam and Eve. One act of disobedience brought shame, separation, sorrow, and death into the human race. Look at Samson. His compromise caused him his strength, his vision, his freedom, his relationship with God, and the objective and goal God has for him, and eventually his life. Look at King Saul. His partial obedience caused him a kingdom. Look at Jonah. His refusal to obey God led him into a storm that threatened his life and everyone around him. Disobedience never affects only the person involved. Its consequences spread. A father or mother suffer, God and the family suffer. A leader or president disobey God and a nation suffer. A believer disobey God and the testimony of Christ suffer. The devil promises freedom through rebellion. God says rebellion produces bondage. Jesus said in John chapter 3, verse 34 Very truly I tell you, everyone who sinned is slave to sin. The word Saints obedience is slavery. Jesus says sin is slavery. The word says rebellion is freedom. Jesus said obedience leads to freedom. Who are you going to believe? Choose today who you will believe. Jesus Christ or the Word. Who are you going to believe? The choice is all yours. Listener, let me share a profound truth with you today. Are you ready? Every one of us has already chosen who we are obeying. We already did. From the moment we wake up each morning, our thoughts, words, decision, and action are constantly refilling allegiance. Whether we realize it or not, whether we admit it or not, we are choosing sight every single day. There's no neutral ground in the spiritual realm. We either belong to God through sincere and passionate obedience to His word, or we align ourselves with the ruler of this world through disobedience and rebellion against God's will. Our lives are speaking louder than our lips. It is not merely what we profess but how we live that we feel who truly governs our heart. Obedience releases supernatural peace. Our main text today contains an astonishing promise. If only you have paid attention to my command, your peace would have been like a river. Notice God did not merely promise peace. He promised peace like a river. A river keep flowing, a river keep moving, a river keep advising advancing. A river is not dependent on circumstances. So the peace of God is not the absence of trouble. It is the presence of God in the middle of trouble. Many people are searching for peace in money. Others are searching for peace in relationship. Some are searching peace for in success. Others are searching for peace in entertainment. Yet peace is not found in possession. Peace is found in obedience to God. A guilty conscience cannot enjoy peace. A rebellious heart cannot enjoy peace. A divided heart cannot enjoy peace. But there's no peace without God. Isaiah 48, verse 22. Make this clear. When God said true prophet Isaiah, there's no peace, says the Lord, for the wicked. The wicked are all those who disobey God. There's no peace in the absence of God. But when a person walks with God and obeys his voice, there's a peace that the world cannot understand. Jesus said in John chapter 14, verse 27, Peace I live with you. My peace I give you. I do not give you, I did not give it to you as the world gives. The world offers temporary peace. Jesus offers permanent peace. The world offers peace based on circumstances. Jesus offers peace based on his presence. That peace is hidden inside obedience. Obedience opens the door to God's favor. The second promise in Isaiah 48, verse 18 is equally powerful. Your well being like the waves of the sea. The picture is abundance, wave after wave, blessing after blessing, provision after provision, mercy after mercy. God is showing that obedience, position or where his favor can flow freely. Abraham obeyed God and became the father of many nations. Joseph remained faithful to God and rose from prison to palace. Daniel obeyed God and was protected in Lion's Den. The three Hebrew boys obeyed God and discover a fourth man in the fire. God has never failed those who trusted him completely. Their path may not always be easy, but God was always faithful. Many believers want the blessing of Abraham while ignoring the obedience of Abraham. They want Daniel's deliverance without Daniel's devotion. They want Joseph's promotion without Joseph's integrity. All spiritual blessings are connected to obedience. God still honors those who honor him. The question is not whether God's promises are true. The question is whether we are willing to walk in the path that leads to death. Delay obedience is often is often disobedient in disguise. One of the most dangerous lives that people tell themselves is I will obey God later. The devil does not always try to make people reject God completely. Sometimes he simply convinces them to postpone obedience. He whisper, you have plenty of time. You are still young. You can serve God later. You can forgive later. You can surrender later. The problem is that later is one of Satan's favorite words. And later was never promised to anyone. Oh yes. God says today. The devil says tomorrow. God says now. The devil says eventually. God says respond. The devil says postpone. The longer a person delay obedience, the harder obedience becomes. Every act of disobedience hard in the heart a little bit more. Every ignore conviction weakens spiritual sensitivity. Every rejected warning makes the voice of God easier to ignore. The Bible says in Hebrew chapter 3, verse 15, today, if you hear his word, do not harden your heart. Notice that God emphasizes today, not next month, not next year, not after retirement, not after achieving your goal. Today. Many marriages were destroyed because someone intended to make things right someday. Many opportunities were lost because someone intended to act someday. Delay obedience caused Pharaoh his kingdom. Delay obedience caused Felix his opportunity in Acts chapter 23. Paul preached to him about righteousness, self-control, and the judgment to come. Felix trembled but said that is enough for now. You may leave when I find it convenient, I will send for you. There's no record that Felix ever responded to the gospel. Conviction ignore becomes confliction dismiss. God is speaking to you today. Do not wait. God is calling you to repent today. Do not wait. God is calling you to forgive today. Do not wait. God is calling you to serve today. Do not wait. God is calling you to choose Him and not the world today. Do not wait. Tomorrow belongs to God to God, but obedience belongs to today. Partial obedience is still disobedient. One of the greatest mistakes believers make is thinking that partial obedience is acceptable to God. King Saul learned this lesson painfully. If you can remember, God commanded Saul to completely destroy the Amalekites. Saul obeyed part of God's command but preserved what God has instructed him to destroy. When Samuel confronted him, Saul argued that he obeyed the Lord. Samuel responded echoes across the century. God was teaching Saul that religious activities cannot replace obedience. Many people attend churches but refuse to obey God. Many people sing worship songs but refuse to obey God. Many people know Bible verses but refuse to obey God. Many people pray impressive prayer but refuse to obey God. God is not impressed by religious performance. When there is rebellion in the heart. Imagine a child whose parents say, clean your entire room. The child clean only one corner and leave the rest in complete disorder. Would that child be considered obedient? Of course not. Partial obedience is simply disobedience, wearing a religious disguise. God desires complete surrender. Not because he wants control over house, but because he knows that complete surrender leads to complete blessing. The areas we withdraw from God often become the area that create the greatest pain in our life. Jesus Christ is the perfect example of obedience. If there is anyone qualified to teach us about obedience, it is Jesus Christ. Jesus never asked to do something he was unwilling to do himself. Hear what Paul said about him in Philippians chapter 2, verse 18, verse 8. And be found in your parents as a man, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to death, even death on the cross. Think about that. He obey when obedience leads to rejection. He obey when obedience leads to betrayal. He obey when obedience leads to nails. He obey when obedience leads to the cross. In the garden of testimony, facing unimaginable suffering. Jesus prayed, Yet not my will, but yours be done. This is the heart of obedience. Obedience is not merely doing what God wants when it is easy. Obedience is saying yes to God even when it is difficult. Obedience is saying yes to God even when others misunderstood. Obedience is saying yes to God when the road is painful. Jesus trusted his father's wisdom more than his own comfort. As a result, his obedience brought salvation to millions. Your obedience may affect far more people than you realize. A parent's obedience can influence generations. A spouse's obedience can lead the entire family to Christ. A pastor's obedience can transform a congregation. A believer's obedience can lead many souls many souls to Christ. Never underestimate that God, what God can do through your obedient life. The greatest regret in life often begins with the words, if only. Those words are filled with regret. If only I had listened, if only I had obeyed, if only I had trusted God, if only I have followed instruction. There are people today who are carrying wounds that could have been avoided. There are broken relationships that could have been preserved. There are spiritual battles that could have been prevented. There are years that were wasted in rebellion. There are opportunities that were missed because God's voice were ignored. The prodigal son thought freedom existed away from his father. Only after reaching the pig pen did they realize that obedience will have spared him tremendous suffering. How many people today are sitting in emotional pig pens? How many people are dead today and would have been alive and well if they have listened to God's command? How many people will not have contracted fatal or painful disease if they have listened to God? How many people are living with unnecessary pain because they ignore God's instruction? How many? Too many is my answer. Too many. The good news is that even when we have failed, God's grace remains available. The prodigal son returned. Peter was restored. Donald received another chance. God is a good God of mercy. It is better to learn wisdom from God's word before experiencing painful consequences. The wise obey before disaster arrives. The foolish obey after disaster arrives. Listener. There are blessings hidden in God's command, not beside them, not after we replace them with our own ideas. Not when we partially obey. The blessing is hidden in the command itself. When God told Noah to build the hack, the command looked absorbed before it looked brilliant. Before it looked brilliant. Can you imagine the mockery? Can you imagine the whisper? Noah, what are you doing? Why are you building this giant vessel in dry condition? Why are you separating yourself from the crowd? Why are you ordering your life around a warning nobody else believed? Noah knew that wisdom of God often appears foolish to a rebellious world. Yet it has never failed, never been surprised, never made a mistake. The same command that made Noah look foolish in one season made him safe in the next. The blessing was hidden in obedience. The ark was not just wood and pitch, it was massive, shaped by obedience. Some of you are in that season right now. God has you building what other people do not understand. God has you walking away from things people call normal. God has told you to cut off what feels familiar, fashionable, and popular. God has told you to pray when others panic, to give when others hurt, to stay pure while others play in sin. To wait while others rush and because obedient often looks costly, before it looks wise. You are tempted to circumce the voice of God. But hear this preacher today. You do not need to cry to confirm what God has commanded. The Spirit of God will never contradict the word of God. When the rain starts falling, explanation will no longer be necessary. Look at Lot. The angels warned him to flee Sodom and not look back. The command was clear get out, do not linger, do not look back. But Lot's wife turned around and in one fatal glance she became a monument to divide affection. She led the city physically, but her heart was still tied to what God was judging. That is where many people are sovereign right now. God is asking you to get out of the worldly sin and disobedient and do not look back. Many may obey outwardly, but inwardly they are still looking back. They came out of the sinful relationship, but they still crave for it. They left the sin but they still romance it in their mind. They stop the behavior but they still mourn the bandage as if God took something valuable from them. Listen to me carefully. You cannot fully step into what God has ahead while you're so keep reaching for what He told you to leave behind. There is a blessing hidden in not looking back. Every command of God contains a blessing. The command to pray contain access to divine strength. The command to worship contain the blessing of God's presence. The command to give contain the blessing of generosity and provision. The command to pursue holiness contain the blessing of intimacy with God. The command to trust contains the blessing of peace. The command to seek first His kingdom contains the blessing of divine provision. Many people focus on what obedience costs. Very few focus on what disobedience costs. Obedience may require sacrifice today, but disobedience often creates suffering tomorrow. God never commands anything without a purpose. Every instruction in the scripture is connected to his love, wisdom, and desire for our good. The commands of God are treasures maps leading to blessings that cannot be found anywhere else. The greatest act of obedience you can ever make is surrendering your life completely to Jesus Christ. The word tells you to follow your heart, God tells you to follow Christ. The word says, live for yourself, just say deny yourself, take up your cross and follow me. The word promise happiness through self-will. God promised eternal life through surrender. One day, every person listening to this message, including me, will stand before that God. Your career will not stand with you. Your bank account will not stand with you, no. Your achievement will not stand with you, no. Your popularity will not stand with you. Only your relationship with Jesus Christ will matter. On that day, many people will wish they had obeyed. Many will say, if only, if only I had listened, if only I had repented, if only I have surrendered, if only I have taken God's word seriously, if only I have followed Christ. Until eternity to discover that God's command were expression of his love. Do not wait until judgment day to realize that obedience will have brought peace like a river and well being like the waves of the sea. Do not leave this message saying, I will think about it later. Respond today. Repent today. Surrender today. Obey today. Perhaps you have wonderful power from God. Perhaps you once worked closely with him, but you have become spiritually called. Perhaps you know about Jesus, but you have never fully surrendered your life to him. Today the Lord stands before you with open arms. The same God who said, If only you have paid attention to my command, is still calling sinners home. Jesus Christ died on the cross for your sin. Jesus Christ shed his blood for your forgiveness. Jesus Christ rose from the dead to give you eternal life. Jesus Christ is the bread of life for the spiritually hungry. Jesus Christ is the light of the world for those trapped in the darkness of life. Jesus Christ is the good shepherd seeking lost sheep. Jesus Christ is the resurrection and the life for those facing death. And Jesus Christ is the way, the truth, and the life. And no one comes to the Father except through him. The question today is not whether God is willing to receive you. The question is whether you are willing to obey him. Come to him with repentance. Come to him with humility. Come to him with faith. Come to him today. Do not let your life become another story that ends with the word, if only. Instead, let your testimony be: I had the voice of God, I obey him, and I discover that his command contains blessing greater than I ever imagined. May God grant us heart that listen, mind that trust, and life that obey, so that our peace may be like a river and our well-being like the waves of the sea. In the mighty name of our Lord Jesus Christ. Amen. Remember this truth. Many people live with unnecessary burden because they refuse God's instruction. Many carries needless mourn because they reject his wisdom. Many miss defined opportunity because they choose their own path over God's path. But obedience to God never leads to regret. You may not always understand his command, but you can always trust his heart. Behind every command stands a loving father who sees what you cannot see and know what you do not know. As you live today, make a decision that whenever God speaks, your answer will be yes. When he commands, obey. When he correct, listen. When he needs, follow. When he calls, respond. For hidden within God's command are blessing greater than you can imagine. Peace deeper than you can explain. And reward that reach unto eternity. Brothers and sisters, I recognize that many of us, myself included, have regret life. Some of those regrets can be corrected if we are willing to make changes and take the right step. However, there's one kind of regret that can never repair, be repaired. The regret of eternity. Disobedience to God in this life carries eternal consequences. The greatest tragedy is not making mistakes on heart, but dying without a genuine relationship with God through Jesus Christ. That is the greatest tragedy. Those who get God's offers of salvation today, we suffer eternal consequences and regret tomorrow. Therefore, let us come to the Lord in sincere repentance and wholehearted obedience. Let us turn away from sins and draw near to God where there is time, as the Bible says, today. If you hear his voice, do not harden your heart. Choose obedience, choose Christ, choose eternal life, make peace with God today so that you will not live with eternal regret tomorrow. Thank you for joining us today at faith hour.
