SPEAKER_00In a world overwhelmed by darkness, confusion, and compromise, God has not called his people to blend in, but to stand out as the light of the world. Join us as we learn what it truly means to live a lift that points others to Christ and bring glory to our Father in heaven. Imagine walking through a city at midnight after a massive power outage. Every street is swallowed by darkness, fear fills the air. People cannot find their way home. Drivers cannot see the road ahead. One small light in the distance suddenly appears. Immediately everyone notices it. Why? Because light was never created to hide, it exists to overcome darkness. Now imagine that someone claimed to be carrying a lantern, yet no light comes from it. They insist it is working. They tell everyone, trust me, this is a lantern, but no one can see its light. It gives no direction, it exposes no danger, it brings no hope, it changes absolutely nothing. Will anyone believe that lantern is truly functioning? Of course not. A light that does not shine contradicts its very purpose. A light that refuses to pierce the darkness has abandoned the mission of which it was created. Jesus Christ did not merely save us from darkness, he saved us to become light. That is why Jesus declared in Matthew chapter 5, verse 14, you are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Jesus did not say you might become the light. He did not say you should try to look like the light. He said, You are the light of the world. Light is not merely a title. Light is evidence. Light is feasible. Light changes its surroundings. Where light enters, darkness retreat, where Christ reign, sin loses his grip. Jesus did not call his followers to admire the light. He called them to become the light. A true disciple does not merely speak about Christ, but shine with his holiness, truth, and love in a world covered by spiritual darkness. Light never argues with darkness. The smallest light has the power to shatter the illusion of darkness. Likewise, genuine followers of Jesus Christ overcome the darkness of sin, compromise, and deception, not merely by their words, but by a transformed life that reflect the character of the Savior. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden, and neither can a life truly transformed by Jesus Christ. If your faith never shines through your obedience, holiness, compassion, and witness, then it is time to examine whether Christ is truly the Lord of your life. This raises one of the most searching questions every person must answer. If your life never shines, can you honestly claim to belong to the light of the world? The greatest tragedy today is not that the world is dark. We all know that. The greatest tragedy is that many who claim to know Christ produce no light. Many wear the same Christian, they wear the name of Christian, but their life remain undistinguishable from the darkness around them. Many know the language of the church, but not the life of Christ. Many confess Jesus with their lips. Why deny him by the way they live? A profession without transformation is a dangerous illusion. A faith that never shines is a faith that should be examined. Jesus never called his followers hidden darkness, he called them feasible light. Light does not negotiate with darkness. The faintest light is enough to expose the false confidence of darkness. Light does not imitate darkness. Light does not bend into darkness. Light exposes darkness. Light comforts darkness. Light overcomes darkness. Every day we already live according to what we truly believe. Everyone lives according to what they believe. We eat because we believe food gives strength. We fast in our seed bed because we believe they protect us. We take medicine because we believe it can really heal us. We board airplanes because we believe they will reach their destination. Real believe always produces feasible action. So why should believing in Jesus Christ be any different? Yet millions have embraced a Christianity that requires no holiness, demands no repentance, produces no obedience, and shines no light. But that is not Christianity Jesus preached. Jesus never invited people merely to admire him, he called them to follow him. He did not die simply to improve our lives, he died to transform our lives. Apostle James leaves no room for dead religion when he writes, faith by itself. If it is not accomplished by action, it is dead. James chapter 2 verse 17. Saving faith is living faith. Living faith produces feasible light. When Christ truly enters a heart, it changes the mind, it changes the desire, it changes the power, it changes the speech, it changes relationship, it changes the conduct and it changes the eternal destiny. Brothers and sisters, the question before us today is not the is not whether we call ourselves Christian. The question is this is your life shining with the light of Jesus Christ or are you only carrying the empty name of Christianity? Because the world does not need more people who claim to have the light. The world desperately needs people who actually shine. Today, we will examine one of the powerful pictures Jesus gave of every true believer. It is not an option from which Christians may choose to follow. It is an inseparable mark of everyone who has truly been born again. If your faith is genuine, your life will shine like light. The question before us is not whether we call ourselves Christian. The real question is this Does your life provide the evidence that Jesus Christ truly lives within you? Jesus declared, You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Matthew chapter 5, verse 14. This is the identity of everyone who has genuinely trusted him. The moment Christ saves a sinner, he places his light within that person's heart. A true Christian illuminates a dark world. Before Christ saved us, we live in spiritual darkness. We love sin. We were blinded by pride, selfishness, lust, greed, and unbelief. We walk according to the desires of our sinful nature without realizing that we are separated from God. But when Jesus Christ entered our lives, everything changed. Paul writes, For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Live as children of light. Ephesians chapter 5, verse 8. Notice Paul does not merely say we live in darkness. He says we were darkness. That means a Christian cannot continue living exactly as he lived before conversion. The grace that forgives also transform. The grace that transforms urges us to flee from all unrighteousness. The Savior who justify, also sanctify. The Christ who saved also changes. Jesus never thought that salvation produced unchanged lives. He thought that transformed life produced a transformed living. A tree is recognized by its fruit. A spring is known by the water it produces. A light is recognized because it shines. Likewise, saving faith is recognized because it changes the person who possesses it. The world desperately needs this light because darkness surrounds us everywhere. We live in a generation that celebrate immorality as freedom, call evil good and good evil. Mark's holiness rejects biblical truth and encourages people to follow their own heart instead of following God. Yet, darkness has never overcome light. One candle can illuminate the room, the entire room. One faithful Christian can influence an entire family. One godly employee can transform a workplace. One obedient believer can become God's instrument for leading many souls to salvation. Jesus never called his church to cure the darkness, as many are wastingfully doing. He called his church to shine in the darkness. The world already knows how to hate. The world already knows how to deceive. The world already knows how to seek revenge. The world desperately needs a people whose life displays the character of Jesus Christ. That light becomes visible in four unmistakable ways. Number one, the light of the world pursue holiness. Jesus continued. Light has only one purpose: to overcome darkness. The moment light enters a dark room, darkness immediately begins to disappear. A single light can dispel the dispersion of the deepest darkness. Light never negotiates with darkness. Light never compromises with darkness. Light simply shines and darkness loses its power. That is exactly what Jesus expects from those who belong to him. That is what he expects from us. A Christian is not someone who has merely changed religion. A Christian is someone whose entire life has been transformed by the power of our Lord Jesus Christ. Salvation is not simply receiving forgiveness for yesterday's sin. It is receiving a new heart that desire to please God today. Apostle Paul declared with the authority of the Holy Spirit. Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has gone, the old has gone. The new creation has come, the old has gone. The new is here. 2 Corinthians chapter 5, verse 17. Paul does not say that a believer has become a slightly improved version of the old self. He says he has become a new creation. Everything begins to change. Our language changes. Our desire changes. Our entertainment changes. Our friendship begins to change. Our priority changes. Our attitude towards money changes. Our attitude towards sin changes. Our attitude toward God changes. Before salvation, we try to hide our sin. After salvation, we confess our sin and repent immediately. Repentance has now become our daily son. Before salvation, we loved the darkness. After salvation, we long for the light. Before salvation, we resisted God's command. We resisted God's command. After salvation, we decide to obey Him. Does this make Christian never sin? Absolutely not. Every believer still battles the sinful nature. There are failures, there are struggles, there are moments when we fall short of God's perfect standard. But there is one enormous difference. A genuine believer can no longer live comfortably in sin. Sin no longer feels like home. David understands this after his great failure with Basheba. His heart was broken because he has graved God. He cried, creating in me a pure heart, oh God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me. Psalm 51 verse 10. That is the cry of every genile Christian. That should be our cry every day. The unbeliever asks, how close can I get to sin without consequences? The believer asks, how close can I walk without Christ? The unbeliever searches for excuses to continue sinning. The believer searches the scriptures to become more like Jesus. There is a tremendous difference. Apostle Peter remind us, but just as he who calls you is holy, so be holy in all you do. For it is written, be holy, because I am holy. 1 Peter chapter 1, verse 15 to 16. God does not say be famous, he does not say be weighty, he does not say be popular, he says be holy. Holiness is not old fashioned, holiness is not legalism, holiness is not self-righteousness. Holiness is becoming more like Jesus Christ. That is holiness. Sadly, many people today want the promises of heaven without pursuing the holiness of heaven. They want forgiveness without repentance, grace without obedience, salvation without surrender, the crown without the cross. But Jesus never offered such a gospel. He said, Whoever wants to be my disciples must deny themselves, take up their cross daily and follow me. Luke chapter 9, verse 23. The cross is not a decoration, it is a declaration that the old life has died. Church attendance alone is not evidence of saving faith. Knowledge of scripture alone is not evidence of saving faith. Religious activities alone are not evidence of saving faith. The Pharisees possess all these things, yet Jesus called them whitewash storms because their heart remained unchanged. God is not impressed by outward religion. He is looking for a transformed heart. Brethren, ask yourself today when people observe your daily life, do they see increasing holiness in you? Do they see integrity when no one is worshiping? Do they see purity in your conversation? Do they see honesty in your business dealing? Do they see humility instead of pride? Do they see forgiveness instead of bitterness? Do they see Christ in you? Do they see light in you? Because the brightest testimony a Christian possesses is not merely what he says on Sunday. It is how he lives from Monday through Saturday. A Christian loudest summer is not preached from the church pulpit. It is proclaimed by Holy Living in a simple world every day. The light of Christian shines brightest through a life that is increasingly becoming like Jesus. Point number two the light of the world proclaims the gospel. Light does more than expose darkness, light refills the way. Jesus Christ did not save us simply to enjoy our salvation. He saved us so that others might come to know him through our witness. Before ascending into heaven, Jesus gave his church one final command. Therefore, go and make disciples of all nations. Matthew chapter 28 verse 19. This was not a suggestion for a pastor alone. It was not a mission reserved for missionary and evangelists. It was an assignment given to every believer. If Christ has changed your life, he intended to use your life to put someone else to him. Think about it. Whenever we discover something valuable, we naturally tell others about it. If we find an excellent physician, we recommend that doctor. If we discover a reliable mechanic, we tell our friend. If we eat at an outstanding restaurant, we invite others to experience it. Why? Because good news is meant to be shared. How much more should we speak about Jesus Christ? How much more who rescues people from eternal condemnation and give everlasting life? How much more. Apostle Paul wrote, For I am not ashamed of the gospel because it is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes. Romans chapter 1, verse 16. Paul did not say the gospel contain power. He said the gospel is the power of God for salvation. The gospel changes what education cannot change. It transforms what money cannot transform. It restores what human philosophy cannot fix. Only Jesus Christ can forgive sin, reconcile sinner to God, and give eternal life. That is why silence is never an option for someone who truly loves Christ. On a personal note, I still remember meeting a young man while I was working at a hospital many, many years ago. It was the very first time we have ever met. After we exchanged greeting, he reached into his pocket, handed me an envelope with the address of the church he attended, and warmly invited me to join them for worship on Sunday. He did not preach a sermon to me. He did not quote a single Bible versus. Never underestimate what God can do through one simple invitation. Your invitation may become the beginning of someone's eternal salvation. The world is filled with people who are spiritually lost. Many are successful but empty. Many are smiling but broken. Many are weighty but without peace. Many appear alive physically while remain dead spiritually. Jesus looked upon the crowd and saw people who were harassed and helpless like sheep without a shepherd. The same condition still exists today. Millions are searching for purpose, millions are searching for hope, millions are searching for forgiveness. The answer is not found in another philosophy, another political movement, another demonstration, another religion, or another self-help program. The answer is in Jesus Christ alone. Therefore, every believer must allow the light of Christ to shine through the faithful gospel witness. Sometimes that witness will be true preaching, sometimes through teaching, sometimes through personal conversation, and sometimes through act of compassion that opens doors for the gospel. Sometimes to encourage someone who has lost hope. But whatever the method, the message never changes. Jesus Christ died for sinner. He rose from the dead. He caused every person everywhere to repent and believe in him. The greatest tragedy is not that Christians are persecuted for sharing the gospel. The greatest tragedy is when Christians become silent, while the walk walk towards eternity without Christ. Jesus did not save his people to hide the light, he saved them to shine it before the world. Brothers and sisters, let the light of God shine within you. Do not hide it under a bow. Lift it high for all to see. Let it shine on the mountain tomb and in the valley. Let it shine in your home. Let it shine in your heart. Let it shine in your workplace, on the street corner, and everywhere God leads your step. Let it shine. Let it shine before your family, your neighbor, your friend, and every person who crosses your path. Let it shine. Do not dim your light to accommodate a dark word. Shine boldly, shine faithfully, shine brightly until others see Christ in you and glorify your Father in heaven. And every soul that comes to Christ because you faithfully share his gospel, become another testimony like me. The true saving faith always produces feasible evidence. Number three, the light of the world demonstrates love and compassion. One of the brightest evidences that Christ truly lived within a believer is not a piece of evidence of beliefs, but how he treats people. The word measures greatness by power, worth, influence, and popularity. Jesus measured greatness by love. On the night before his crucifixion, Jesus gave his disciples a command that will distinguish them from every other group in the whole world. He said, By this everyone will know that you are my disciple if you love one another. John chapter 13, verse 35. Jesus did not say the world will recognize his disciples by the size of their churches. He did not say they will be recognized by their education. He did not say they will be known by their weight, influence, airplay, or social status. He said they will be recognized by their love. Love is the feasible evidence of an invisible Savior. When the love of Jesus filled the heart, it cannot remain hidden. It overflows into the lives of others. The stress measures of our love for Jesus is referred by the way we love those who He died to save. Before Christ changed our lives, many of us love only those who love us. We forgive only those who apologize to us. We help only when it benefited us. We were patient only when it was convenient. But Jesus Christ completely changed the standard. He said, Love your enemies and pray for those who persecuted you. Matthew chapter 5, verse 44. Did you hear that? That was what Jesus Christ teaches us. Love your enemy and pray for those who persecuted you. I cringe within my heart when I heard Christians praying for the destruction of their enemies against the teaching of Christ. I clinged within my heart. Jesus Christ expand on this statement in Luke chapter 6, verse 27 to 28. But to you who are listening, I say, love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you. Pray for those who mistreated you. Ladies and gentlemen, this is not an easy thing to do, but it is the expectation of our Lord. Only a heart transformed by the Holy Spirit can do that. The world teaches us to get even. The world says take revenge. The world says, love those who deserve it. Jesus said, Love as I have loved you. Well, you don't even deserve it. This kind of love cannot be manufactured, it is produced by God's Spirit living within us. Paul described that love in Galatians chapter 5, verse 22 to 23. For the fruit of the spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, absorbed control. Notice that love is listed first because it becomes the foundation upon which every other Christian virtue grows. This love is not sentimental. It is sacrificial action. It feeds the hungry, it conforms the grieving, it freezes the lonely, it encourages discouraged. It gives generously, it forgives repeatedly, it serves humbly, it bears burden willingly, it seeks no appolls, it desires only that Christ be glorified. Christ be glorified. Jesus Himself demonstrated this love perfectly. He touches lepers when everyone else aborted it. He welcomes children who others ignore, he showed mercy to sinners whom society condemned, he wept with grieving families, he healed the sick, he fed the hungry and ultimately he stretched out his hand upon the cross and died for people who hated him. Paul reminds us, but God demonstrated his own love for us. In this, while we are still sinners, Christ died for us. Romans chapter 5, verse 8. Christ did not wait until we deserve his love. He loved us while we were rebels. If Christ loves us that way, how can we refuse to love others? How? Sadly, many professing Christians know the language of theology but have forgotten the practice of love. They defend doctrine while destroying relationships. They sing about grace but refuse to accept grace. They speak about forgiveness while nurturing bitterness. They preach unity while sowing division. Such Christianity does not reflect Jesus Christ. This gospel has no neutral ground. You are either standing with Jesus Christ or standing against him. You cannot walk with Jesus while holding hand with the word. Sooner or later, you must let go of one. You must let go of one. Apostle John writes, whoever claimed to love God, yet eight a brother or sister is a liar. First John chapter 4, verse 20. Those are strong words. God is teaching us that genuine love for him always overflows into genuine love for others. This also means there is no room in the church of Jesus Christ for racism, prejudice, discrimination, hatred, and favoritism. Every human being has been created in the image of God. Every tribe, every language, every nation, every ethnicity, every social class, every person possesses immeasurable value because every person has the eternal soul in them. Yes, they have eternal soul in them. Many Christians are publicly displaying racism under the flag of political parties or ethnicity. Those are satanic worshippers, not followers of Jesus Christ. I'm telling you, Jesus Christ died for everyone. You cannot confess Christ with your lips while denying with your life. Genuine faith always produces obedience. The cross of Jesus Christ tears down every wall that sinful humanity has built. Paul declared there's neither Jews or Gentiles, neither slave or free, for you are all one in Christ Jesus. Galatians chapter 3, verse 28. The ground at the foot of the cross is perfectly level. No race stands higher, no nationality stands superior, no culture stands closer to God than another. None. We are all sinner, saved only by the grace of Jesus Christ. Therefore, a true Christian does not ask what color is your skin. He asks, how can I show you the love of Christ? He does not ask what country are you from? He asks, do you know the Savior? He does not ask what language do you speak? He asks, How can I help you find eternal life? The light of Christ shines brightest when the people love as he loved. Point number four. The light of the world preserves in obedience. Light does not stop shining simply because darkness becomes stronger. The darker the light, the brighter even a small light appears. The same is true for every follower of Jesus Christ. The Christian life was never promised to be easy. Jesus never invited people to follow him with promises of comfort, popularity, or worldly success. Instead, he said, If you love me, keep my command. John chapter 14, verse 15. Obedience is not the price we pay to earn salvation. Obedience is the evidence that we truly love the Savior who has already saved us. There is an enormous difference. Because we have been accepted through Christ, we joyfully obey Him. Contrary to what many falsely proclaim, grace does not remove obedience, grace empowers obedience. The Christians obey God not because they fear losing God's love, but because he has already received God's love through Jesus Christ. However, obedience becomes most feasible when it is costly. Anyone can follow Christ when life is comfortable. Anyone can praise God when prayer is immediately answered. Anyone can speak about faith when there is no opposition. But genuine faith is referred when obedience demands sacrifice. For example, Daniel continued praying when it meant entering the lion's den. Joseph remained faithful when temptation offer pleasures. Sindrak, Mesak, and Abedinegu refused to bow before the golden image, even when treating with a fairy furnace. After they were beaten and imprisoned. Why? Because they fear God more than they fear people. Brothers and sisters, did you fear God more than you fear people? When the religious leaders, when the religious leader commanded them to stop preaching Jesus, the answer, we must obey God rather than human beings. Acts chapter 5, verse 29. That is the heartbeat of every true disciple. That is the heartbeat. Culture may change, government may change, public opinion may change, but God's truth never changes. The world applauds compromise, heavy honors, faithfulness. Our generation desperately needs Christians who will remain faithful when holiness becomes unpopular, when biblical truth is criticized, and when obedience requires courage. So let every one of us examine our heart today. Does your life pursue holiness? Are you faithful, proclaiming the gospel? Do you demonstrate Christ-like love towards others? Will you remain obedient when following Jesus becomes difficult? They are the unmistakable evidence that Christ has already transformed the heart. For Jesus Christ declared, you are the light of the world. A can build on the hill cannot be hidden. If Christ truly lives in us, his light cannot remain hidden. It will shine for the glory of God and lead others to the Savior of the world. Thank you for joining us today at the faith hour, where the unchanging truth of God's word shines into the dark world and transforms ordinary lives into powerful testimony of Jesus Christ. We hope you have discovered in this message that being a Christian is more than bearing the name of Christ, it is living as the light he has called us to be. If Jesus Christ is truly Lord of your life, then his light should be seen in your character, your conduct, your love, and your obedience. Our prayer is not that you are inspired, but that you are changed. That something in you refused to remain the same.
