The Takeover with Tim and Cindy

106 Episodes Later: The Quiet Moves We're Making For Louder Impact

Tim and Cindy Dodd

Growth doesn’t always look like what you think. Sometimes, it’s not about pushing harder but getting radically honest about what’s working, what’s not, and what needs to shift.

In this episode, we’re pulling back the curtain on some major moves happening inside PEMA, from how AI is reshaping our daily operations to launching a brand-new lead gen platform, and the internal shifts we’ve made to scale smarter and serve better.

If you're in build mode, you’ll want to hear this. Because the next phase of growth rarely starts with more hustle, it starts with clarity.

You all know we love to come to you with the real, the raw, the honest, just  laying it all out. We're going to take you behind the scenes into what's been happening in our agency,  in our lives as founders, but also  what's happening over the summer.  I believe  very strongly, very strongly that  everybody, the human race will look back  at 2025  as the year that AI changed everything. We are obsessed.

00:27

with not just all the tools because they're fun, but we're obsessed with how do we apply these to make our team's roles more efficient, to make our days and our lives more efficient, to get way better results for our clients. And what an amazing and exciting time to live in. Those who are excited about it and those who are doing something about it are going to reap massive, massive rewards in 2025, 2026. And really on the other side, those who are excited about it now are going to be the ones who are leading.

00:56

Welcome to The Takeover with Tim and Cindy, where we show you how to dominate  every area of life  and business. Let's get with it. Welcome back to The Takeover. It feels like a while since we recorded a duo episode, just Tim and I. It was in Spain.  So how long ago was Spain? Two months ago.  Oh wow. Two months. No way. I know. Time is flying. We're so excited about this episode. We are coming.

01:25

to you with some news, some insights. have something that we're sharing slash shifting. There's been a lot that's been changing in our business and our lives. And you all know, we love to come to you with the real, the raw, the honest, just laying it all out. I'm so excited about today's episode and we're going to take you behind the scenes into what's been happening in our agency, in our lives as founders, but also what's happening over the summer.

01:55

And I'm excited to share this because I think a lot of entrepreneurs, think as entrepreneurs, we can feel like our situations are unique. The ups, the downs, the crazy, you know, the 14 hour days, the sleepless nights. And I really want to make sure that we're just kind of real and raw today about like where we're going and some exciting stuff. And, but also just be real about like what entrepreneurship is and what it's been for us and bring you behind the scenes and kind of share that with you. So I'm excited to do that. And I'm excited for you to be involved.

02:24

with what's next. Stick around to the end because we're going to talk about what's going to happen after this summer break and it's going to be big. So Tim kind of shared already, but that's the big news. We're not going to wait until the end to tell you what it is. It is we're taking a break over the summer. And I mean, we are over a hundred episodes in. I want to say close to 120, 130 episodes on the podcast. We have not missed a week.

02:53

So it's been really consistent since we launched at the end of 2023, but we have decided to take a break over the summer. So it's going to be about three to four months of us just disconnecting. But even more than that, we want to share the why behind the break. And just to be clear, we're not taking a break from work, from building the company. We are, we're just taking a break from the podcast so that we can just double down and focus on.

03:20

on a few other things that I'm excited to share with you today. Yes. And I think we also want to talk about the why behind the break, right? And how as founders, entrepreneurs, maybe even you're salesperson or, you know, you're a career professional and you are thinking why these kinds of times need to happen. And to be clear, this isn't a burnout. It's not that the podcast has been this burden on our shoulders that we want to get rid of. We love the podcast. We love connecting.

03:47

with our listeners, sharing value and taking you all behind the scenes. This is about strategy.  And as we look at our agency and what's happened over the last year or two, there's been some powerful things that have been brewing in the background. There's been some exciting things that we've launched,  scaled. I mean, there's just so much that is changing in the life of our business. And  we have just decided that strategically we need to take this pause. So Tim.

04:15

Let's dive into really the three reasons why we're taking the break from the podcast over the summer and what's been shifting. Well, I wanted to start off by prefacing this with, believe very strongly, very strongly that everybody, the human race will look back at 2025 as the year that AI changed everything. And I know that AI has been around for a long, time, but this is the first year that

04:42

Everybody is in your grandma. Everybody's engaging with with AI on a very regular basis and we're creating a  quite strong relationship with AI like I've never seen before and we've been developing  our own software's AI power software's for over a year now and we've had some pretty cool stuff launched with that. And so number one is

05:04

We're taking a break to really double down and go  all in on the software that we launched and that we're developing. And it really has to do with lead generation. And  lead generation is being impacted  big time by this. And I think when we get to 2026, if you are  just trying to catch up by 2026, you're going to be pretty behind. So I'm really excited with this new software that we  have already been using internally. We're getting incredible results from it. There's still more to develop out with it, but it's just been

05:34

something that is taking a lot of our time. We've built out a whole software development team within our company to build this thing out.  And yeah, we're going all in on it. It's interesting with how much our agency has been shifting in the face of AI. We have reshaped or rethought how we can really build a team and a structure that both supports our goals, but also is

05:59

challenging and also is at the forefront of what we see is AI and how it's changing agencies. So we just look at how we've been looking at it, right? The first question that we ask ourselves every time there's a new process, new system, new structure, it's how can we do this with AI, right? Before we ask, you know, do we need to bring on another teammate? We ask, how can this be done with AI? And just that one shift in how we are thinking about AI and how

06:27

it relates to our business has completely changed our internal structure. We have our teammates researching new AI tools and they're bringing their ideas into how we can continue to incorporate AI into what we're doing. And I think at this point, you know, if you've been listening to our podcast for a while, you know how much we speak about AI and how much we've spoken about it in the past. We're seeing it tangibly firsthand  in our business and how it's been transforming

06:57

how we work. And I'll be real, for me, you over the last few months, three to four months, where we've really doubled down  in AI, in our software and what it's been looking like, it takes time, right? Because we're learning everything new, there's a lot of newness to it. It takes more time, effort and energy upfront. But when you see the outputs, you see how beneficial creating systems and processes around AI really is.

07:25

So it has been taking up quite a bit of our time. And really, I think the shit that you're talking about too is like, let's just be real. It's  the new companies out there. It's not about like, we've got 500 employees. It's like, Hey, we've got 50 really good, incredible employees and they're all managing huge AI agents and systems. so those systems, those agents, those processes, they take a lot of energy to build, which what

07:55

we've been building, but it were what used to be the big brag of the billion dollar company with a thousand employees. We're going into a time where we're going to in our lifetime for sure. And it could be soon see the first  self-made billionaire that literally built his entire empire or her entire empire with AI  solo, no other humans. Now that's not the route we're going, but we're asking of every process, every job, every role in the company. And we're asking of our teammates is

08:24

every single role in your company, you should find a way for AI to replace it because ultimately we're setting our company up so that we are managing agents in AI. We're not managing people. We have amazing talent. We have an amazing team and we're trying to empower them and equip them with AI. And every week our team brings in new AI ideas. And in fact, every week I get a new AI tool that I didn't even know about that our team brought in and said, Hey, there's this new tool and then I'll implement it as part of our stack. So

08:52

That's a really big point, not just how it's helping our results.  Obviously in lead generation, we've been building out an entire AI systems to generate incredible results. We're just doubling, tripling, just going all in on, but also just the organizational structure of our company. So a lot of pivots happening there.  Another big shift, which is actually a part of the results we've been able to get with our own AI software has allowed us to restructure our offer and our services to our clients.

09:39

Yeah. So this is the second reason why we are taking this break over the summer. It's because we've taken on so many new clients over the last few months. And with this new offer, which as to mentioned, AI allowed us to create and deliver. It's gaining a lot of traction, which means we are putting our full focus and attention on this. It's exciting that we get to deliver, you know, the quality and the results that we're delivering at scale, but it's also requiring a little bit of

10:08

shifts in our processes, as we mentioned, right? We are implementing AI into so much of what we're doing, which is causing us operationally to have to rethink client onboarding, client delivery, and a few inner workings of the business that before we were very hands-on with, and now it's pretty much hands-off, right? And in the way that AI is integrated into our business has changed a lot of that. So part of us taking this break over the summer is because of this new offer that we launched.

10:38

And it's taking off and it's so exciting. And as you all know, if you've been rocking with the podcast, you know how much value we give. We try to provide as much insight behind the scenes value as possible.  And while we are in this place where we are really in the trenches, right? Working through this new offer, bringing on these new clients, just wait until after the summer where we can explain a little bit more and really take you behind the scenes into what we've been creating for now, because we're still in it, we can't explain as much.

11:08

I always believe you have to be outside of it to be able to provide that perspective, but soon come, after the summer, we'll be able to take you all behind the scenes into this new offer. Yeah. So it's exciting  to just to be in a position where we're like, oh, wow, we have the ability to take on an enormous amount of clients really quick, but we want to make sure we're delivering super well for our clients. Like it can be pretty easy to scale really fast, but not sustain that growth. And so we're really set up on a path.

11:36

which is why we're taking the break this summer is because we are taking on clients so quickly. We want to make sure we're also scaling with a long-term growth vision in mind because with what we do, when you deliver awesome results, clients want to pay you more and more money, which is really, really, really where big growth happens is just exceptional delivery on the product that we're selling. We have the technology behind it. We have the team behind it. And now it's just time to put our heads down.

12:02

focus and freaking crush it this summer. that kind of moves us into the third reason. The third reason that we are taking this break over the summer  is to step back and get clarity. I think so often as high performers, we can be in go, go, go mode all the time  and we forget to  step back and check in on like the current version of ourselves.  I strongly believe that it's important to take time off or to take a step back.

12:32

to get clarity, right? Auditing what's working in your life versus what's not. Auditing and checking in with yourself and your goals and seeing if things are still aligned. It's so interesting because when we take these times, time periods off, quote unquote, we get so much clarity and we often find ourselves even more excited and passionate and enthusiastic about our goals than if we just went go, go, go, go, go.

12:59

If you've listened to the podcast from the very beginning to where it is now, it's also kind of shifted a little bit over time, right? It was originally, we were doing a broader range of business topics from marketing to sales to personal, and really our best episodes for sure, we got the most interactions on was around marketing and sales. And so  what we really want to do is we really want to come back after this summer with a super fresh perspective on

13:26

How do you grow? How do you scale? How do you do yourselves better? How do you build a team better? And with us just going down, doubling down, proving it out within our company, getting the results within our company, getting, you know, as we take on, you know, all these new clients and helping them get results and seeing the backside of their sales teams and seeing just all the, all of what we're going to do over the summer. I truly believe that we're to be able to come back after the summer with potent value to deliver,  not just with our story, but just having worked with

13:56

the backside of a thousand clients right now. And at this pace,  it's going to double that pretty quickly. So it's just to be able to bring that kind of value into this podcast so that you can just sell more and scale more and just truly build an awesome company. Yes, I love that. It's really all about you all. So this break is so that we can come back and serve more and provide more value.

14:20

So Tim, let's talk about what's to come. So we are taking this time off over the summer. In the fall, we will be back. So stay subscribed. We are really taking the summer to not only double down on the business, but to produce amazing content for when the fall comes. So you are going to see all the behind the scenes, all the new things we've been learning with AI and implementing, what's working, what's not. What does this new 2025 business look like? Because...

14:48

I mean, the business landscape is shifting so much. We are gonna provide all of that value. So Tim, what can our audience expect when they come back in the fall? Yeah, just really, how do you finish out the year strong?  All the new technologies, all the shifts that are changing, I mean, we are obsessed with not just all the tools, because they're fun, but we're obsessed with how do we apply these to make our team's roles more efficient, to make our days and our lives more efficient, to get way better results for our clients.

15:17

And what an amazing and exciting time to live in. And so as we're kind of coming into the fall of 2025, we're really going to set vision of how to end the year strong and really how to be set up in this new world, which is going to work. We are going to look back and see 2025 change the whole game. And we're going to help you finish the year strong and coming at 2026 stronger than ever, because I believe very, very, very highly that

15:43

There is so much opportunity for those who  are open to being excited about the world changing. Those who are not excited about it changing,  oh sure, everybody's gonna have a little bit of fear, everybody's gonna have a little bit of worry, like there's uncertainty, but be excited about that. Just be excited about the opportunities that are coming and those who are excited about it and those who are doing something about it are going to reap  massive, massive rewards in 2025,  2026.

16:10

And really on the other side, those who  are excited about it now are going to be the ones who are leading the  big companies in a couple of years. So I'm excited to bring that wisdom of actually having done it to the point where we're at now, but also going all in over the summer and bringing that wisdom to you to help you just grow your business better. Yes. In addition, we'll be going deep on certain topics like marketing, lead generation, and providing more strategic,  actionable advice for you all.

16:38

to not only scale your business,  but grow departments, grow your agencies.  We are so excited about this new agency offer that we have. So you can expect some more awesome content around what it's like to scale an agency, what tools we're using, all of that good stuff, and especially how to continue to sell more and scale more. All right, all right. And here's the thing is we're not going total MIA.  We are going to stay active on LinkedIn.
