Middle East
In the war in the Middle East, Iran continues responding to attacks by the U.S. and Israel striking energy and military targets linked to the U.S. and its allies across the region.
As part of its military response, Iran hit a target in the United Arab Emirates that supplied the Prince Sultan Air Base in Saudi Arabia, a key facility used by the U.S. Meanwhile, in the U.S. and across the Western countries, gasoline, oil and gas prices remain high, fueling declining public support for Trump's war.
Cuba
This Thursday, the Nuestra America Flotilla sets sail from Mexico to Cuba on a humanitarian mission to deliver food, medicine and essential supplies to the island.
What began as a small flotilla has grown into a global movement by air, land and sea, and is expected to converge in Havana on March 21st with a solidarity event along the El Malecón.
Venezuela
And in Venezuela, Acting President Delcy Rodríguez appointed General Gustavo González López, former head of the military counterintelligence and former chief of the Bolivarian National Intelligence Service (SEBIN) as the new Minister of Defense, replacing Vladimir Padrino López, who had in charge since 2014.
During a ceremony at the Miraflores Presidential Palace marking the arrival of the World Baseball Classic trophy, Rodríguez said that as in sports, Venezuela and the U.S. can move forward toward respectful and sovereign relations, just like in baseball.
