Cuba - United States

Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel condemned Washington's new threats against the country, as well as the expansion of economic sanctions against Cuban officials and their family members. 

Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez Parrilla stated that the new measures are part of a U.S. interventionist plan and constitute a threat to Cuba's independence and sovereignty. 

Colombia 

The Supreme Court of Justice of Colombia upheld the conviction against Santiago Uribe. 

The ruling against the brother of former President Alvaro Uribe Velez leaves in place the 28 years prison sentence for the crimes of aggravated criminal conspiracy and aggravated homicide in connection with the case involving the paramilitary group known as Los 12 Apóstoles. 

Peru 

In Peru, candidates Roberto Sanchez and Keiko Fujimori concluded their on Thursday ahead of Sunday's presidential election runoff. 

Polls show a statistical tie between the two candidates.
