Speaker 1:

What's up everybody? This is Trenisha English and you are listening to the Things you Should Know Podcast. I got to get back to that Zach Fox show. That Zach Fox show was everything Kim and Caitrinata. I'm like I need a full Caitrinata set. Yeah, I need a full Caitrinata set. Not no festival, not no, nothing. Bro. People really don't appreciate djs the way that they really don't. It's. It's a lot more because I'm not getting here so I can check it with a boost. I don't know, and I don't even know who is who.

Speaker 1:

What's up, friends? This is trinisha english. Uh, with the things you should know podcast featuring trinisha english. I am trinisha english and I've got some really exciting news. First of all, the podcast is back. Apologies, I've been away.

Speaker 1:

Life has been my thing. How long have you had that? I clapped for you before. Really, yeah, I don't think I've ever heard that. I love it. We're going to start a thing now. Hold on, do we have a laugh track? Yeah, I think so. That ain't it. However, we got some money. We have a laugh track. I feel like I'm in a 90s sitcom. Where's my diary? It's about to be real, so I can write on my bed. Come on, moesha. Okay, here we go Deep because it's off today. Okay, sorry, here we go. What's up y'all?

Speaker 1:

Welcome back to the Things you should know podcast featuring trinisha english. I am trinisha english and I am so excited to be back. I've got some really exciting news. First things first. The podcast is back. We're super excited. Apologies for being away. Life be lifin, but things is moving out the way and so we good to go. Uh, but huge announcement I have decided, as we move forward, I am inviting a co-host into the family officially, someone that you all know and love. Make some noise for sadia. It's me. I'm so excited. I asked sadia if she would do this with me permanently and she said friend, I thought you would never ask. It took you so long. We legit film a podcast whenever we're together. Yep, so now we're making it official, an audio thing that you all can hang into super exciting.

Speaker 1:

I do want to start before we hop in. Um, we'll have some new formats, a little segment or some segments, but I do want to just be open and honest with the disclaimer. As you all know, I am a tried, true and proud member of the Libra gang, gang, gang, and my homegirl here, sadia, is an Aquarius the sign y'all love to hate. Y'all know, y'all love us. It gang and my homegirl here, sadia, is an Aquarius. The sign y'all love to hate. Y'all know, y'all love us. It's okay, it's all right.

Speaker 1:

What we just want to name it's a lot of air in the room, and so just please be ready for your consistent dose of some air sign foolishness, because that's what's going to happen and it's a good time and it's nothing you can do about it. But sit here and listen. It's gonna take you a minute to catch up, like dang, they was right, they really were, we always are. So, yeah, and that's why this is the things you should know podcast. So we're happening, um, uh, so, sadia, welcome, I'm so excited to have you. Same same thing. This is about to be a ride. Um, we're gonna get things kicked off, though. We're gonna start in, uh, with an energy audit. So this will be the segment of our show where me and sadia just check in and see how you're doing, how you feeling, where's the energy?

Speaker 1:

Um, today, currently, um, I'm trying to work on my anger management Because it's a lot Happening right now in the world, and I make it a point to Put myself in spaces when I don't have to be angry. You know why would I do that? I make it a point To put myself in spaces when I'm not going to be angry. There's good energy, like I bring good energy, yes, so therefore, it's gonna be a good space, it's gonna be a good time. So it just really just drives me nuts when it's people out here that are just evil for no reason. Well, like to play evil because they're really not.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, but you know, you think that's the way you I don't know if you that's why you think you can get respect or what, whatever it is, you need to go sit down and talk to the lady, somebody, because you're, you're not gonna keep on. That's real, that's real. So, yeah, that's where I am. What about you, friend?

Speaker 1:

Uh, I am in a place where I am trying to check my main character energy because it is getting crazy. It's getting really crazy. It's very like tunnel vision. If it don't got nothing to do with me, I'm not really interested or retaining it. And, um, that's not like really cool, right? Um, it's not really the way that you want to move around the world, but I'm just finding myself in such an apathetic place right now. I just okay, don't care, and not in like, uh, you know you need to check on me kind of way, but just like I like, at the end of the day, earth is ghetto.

Speaker 1:

Like what are we worked up for? Yeah, relax, heavy on the relax. Yeah, because that's what I've been telling everybody since January. I'm like you need to relax. What's done has been done. We've been here before. Boom, we just got to move forward.

Speaker 1:

I don't know what is going back and forth about it, right, why do I have to? You know, know, anything like I don't involve me. Don't involve me in your nonsense, because, at the end of the day, I checked you a long time before. However, there's no point in keep going back and forth. So, exactly, yeah, I feel that. So, yeah, I was just like everything's like it can't all just be a catastrophe. Like I just am at a place where, like yo, like, at what point do we just say we're going to roll with the punches, it is what it is, and make the best, yeah, the best out of a good thing. So, yeah, that's where I'm at, yeah, so Okay, yeah, all right, main character energy.

Speaker 1:

The thing that is really helping me and we're going to slide into this, though, is, as you all know, mother is Queen, mother, queen. Mother is clocked in. Yeah, she's back. Well, she never left. She never really left. She never really left. Did she go anywhere? Yeah, she didn't go anywhere. Yeah, she just didn't give us that actual movie that she made us go to the theater. Because, girl, but you know what? Because, ma'am, if I would have known I had to go see it multiple times. Well, I did, but I would have done it differently and seen it multiple times.

Speaker 1:

Anyway, before we get too far, we're gonna introduce our next segment it is called the bay watch where me and Sadia are going to intentionally and intentionally only take we're going to do five minutes this week. We're going to take an allotted amount of time to talk about Beyonce. Yeah, because we have to put ourself on a time limit. Yes, if we don't, this is a Beyonce stand podcast, and if we don't, it will just be a Beyonce stand podcast, exactly Because we can go all day, day. So you ready? Okay, here we go five minutes. Okay, we can't be silent, we can't have five minutes. It's beyonce.

Speaker 1:

So I really think, of course, you know everybody's talking about how this is leading up to. She's about to retire. Stop it. Not gonna happen, I know, but because she does, she loves touring, yeah, she loves, she loves doing this. But I don't know. I think mother is probably like you know what. I may just sit back just for a moment, girl, we are watching music. We are watching the second coming because blue ivy carter no, I'm talking about beyonce, but oh, yeah, she's gonna let. This is blues coming out party. This is what this tour is. This is blues coming out party.

Speaker 1:

You already know she can sing, right, you already saw that she could dance. She could take y'all's critiques. She could do it. She can show up on the grammy. She can be at the super bowl halftime. She's got it. She can do her little solo dance breaks. She can outdance her mother in the dance breaks.

Speaker 1:

So when act three is the blue ivy debut album, get information. That's what this is about. No, I don't think it's gonna be. It would be super cute. It would be super cute. I, yeah, I do think she's preparing her to just carry on, yeah, the legacy of beyonce. But, um, I really hope act three is a reunion of Destiny Child. I think that would be great. But people said it's a rock. It would be so cute when people say it's a rock album, but whatever. But Cowboy Carter, I love everything about it. Everything I'm seeing so far has been wonderful. I cannot wait.

Speaker 1:

Sadia and I actually Sadia, I want to be honest. I'm actually really second guessing the choice that we made, sadia and I decided before the second set of dates got released. Let's be clear our choice wasn't bad. It wasn't bad at the time when we made it, but now that we have more information, hindsight being 2020, exactly, it wasn't. So, cedia, before the second date release, we have tickets in atlanta, the second to last show. Now it was it was the last show and now it's the second to last show. Which, whatever beyonce like, whatever you, just whatever.

Speaker 1:

Uh, miss roomie carter, um, blue ivy is not gonna take too much more of this baby girl and we love seeing you, but I think she is, because could you imagine telling roomie okay, you, you're done with the tour. You know what is so what I just absolutely love about it is that roomie is genuinely excited, that we are excited to see her like she is waving, yeah, like she has never waved before, and I just love it. But do you know who I am? Yeah, you're here for me. You're here for me. Yeah, I just want to know. I just want to know, like, if we get later in the tour and roomie doesn't show up, y'all know who's responsible.

Speaker 1:

Blue is tired, blue is over it. Blue is like we talked. We talked about this, we rehearsed this. I told you why do you keep coming out here and not act a professional? I run a tight ship over here. The disgust on blue's face, that opening show is just let me her best life.

Speaker 1:

As an older sibling. I know that. I know that feeling. I know that feeling of one. If I had to did this, it would have been consequences and repercussions. I know that. I know that feeling and I know the feeling of doing everything that I could do in my power to help you show up the right way and you just go up there and do whatever you want to do wasn't in the like, we didn't rehearse, like we didn't practice and she's gonna be like mom you made me wait to go on tour to this age. We're gonna put that back in her contract because she don't know how to act and I don't have time. I'm a professional and I don't care that these songs are about her. No, I don't care, I do not care, I do not care, I do not care. We'll put her on the jumbo trunk in the back because she's not coming back out here.

Speaker 1:

She is over her little sister. But can we just talk about how I am? I'm legit a proud auntie, like you cannot tell me, blue ivy is not my beast. Yeah, because the time that little girl came into this world they just anytime we were allowed to see her, it was never nothing good. Y'all talking about her from the time. Well, even before she got out of womb, because apparently beyonce did not birth her herself, you know, y'all are out of be food that that take age like milk. Yeah, like it's crazy, it's in. The fact that they still have it going is insane to me. But, um, and just all the stuff she went through. And now she's like I am a professional artist, I'm on a world tour, at state, in stadiums, multiple. This is my second world tour actually, yeah, this is my second. Thank you.

Speaker 1:

Uh, as we come up on time, I think we got, oh, four seconds. The black patriotism is everything. All of the american symbols yeah, american, I cannot wait to be there in a cowboy hat. Yeah, I cannot wait because I'm gonna be a cowboy that whole weekend. You can't tell me anything different. Your country breakfast is ready.

Speaker 1:

Hey, listeners, just a quick reminder to subscribe and follow our podcast so you never miss an episode. And if you're enjoying the show, please rate and review us wherever you get your podcast. Your support means the world to us. Now back to the show. All right, it was really five minutes. That. Really, it really went by. I'm glad you upped it from three to five. I really did, because we would have, we would have definitely. Yeah, um, sucked at five. Now we know. And now we, now we realize we can't just go in there blind. We got to go in with a plan. We do, we gotta go because we love some bianca. Yeah, we do. All right, I'm just excited to keep getting better at that with you, and we will, because we, we're gonna have something. Yes, every, every single week. We're gonna have something else to talk about, because it's beyonce. Okay, all right, friend.

Speaker 1:

We are moving to our next segment of the show, and this segment is called air it out, and in this segment, sadia and I are just going to take a moment to air out anything that is on our heart, our minds, that we need to either rehash or just get out or just say I'm happy to go first if you don't have your thing, yes, please go first. The thing that I need to air out is this the city of Indianapolis is under construction everywhere, and I'm tired. It's everywhere, and here's why I'm specifically tired, because the exit that I would typically use to go north has been closed for multiple years like two years at this point, and now when I'm coming back from, when I'm coming south from north, when I'm coming home from work, I can't even get off the highway on the correct exit. You gotta go past your. I have to go past my exit to get on the highway to go to work and I have to pass my exit to get off of the highway to go to work. So I don't know who needs to hear this, but the ramp on 56th and Shaitlyn needs to be open immediately, or I I don't know what's going to happen, but I know who do. I need to talk to downtown, downtown, uptown. Get the governor on the phone. Hell, the president is meddling and stuff. Call him down here. If you want to sign an executive order, sign one about that immediately. That exit on 56 in shaitlyn.

Speaker 1:

And what I don't understand is is we keep having events here. We're having out of town guests come all the time, like I've never been worried, like, oh, I have out of town guests, I need to get my house together. No, that's. The city of indianapolis does not believe that highway patrol does not believe that project 465 does not believe that. In fact, it feels like, hey, everybody's about to come to town for WNBA All-Star Weekend. Let's just start getting to work. Shut it down, start everything. I am over it.

Speaker 1:

And to top it off, y'all want to start mailing tickets without pulling me over. Oh, so didn't. I know that. Until I got one in the mail, I said what is this? Not one, but two. And I said what is this, sadia? Not one, but two. And I said what is this? And you're just like oh, this is a courtesy the next time I'm going to charge you. And I'm like what is this a courtesy from? And y'all have pictures of my little Kia Sportage. How dare you? First of all, it's rude. It's very, very, very rude. It's very rude. It has to violate the patriot act. It's. It's insane.

Speaker 1:

I just feel like if because let's just be honest like yes, stopping me from speeding is a public safety issue. No, this is about police departments getting money at the end of the day, and if you want to get money from me, you need to pull me over. Yeah, that's just how I feel you need to earn my cash. Yeah, it's lazy, that's exactly what it is. You have up, you're taking a picture of me I did not sign off on that mailing it to me, putting it in the mail, and then it comes because I want. The first one I got was in march and I got at the end of april and I'm like, oh, and then y'all take your time, send it. See, it's too much, because we're gonna make sure this is you. Yeah, yeah, it it needs to stop. It needs to stop now.

Speaker 1:

It's first of all. Here's the thing we are in the racing capital of the world. What makes you think I'm not driving fast. I'm on the highway, I need to get to where I'm going and let's be clear, so where I got stopped at was coming from noblesville, going back towards downtown. So all of that on 69 is an absolute wreck. Yes, yeah, and that's where they take pictures at. And I'm like how dare you? I'm trying to get through this.

Speaker 1:

First of all, 69 is horrible and I'm trying to get home here and you're you're sending me this ticket because I'm speeding through a work zone. This has been a work zone for a decade. Like, what are y'all talking about? Y'all taking y'all sweet ass time to get this figured out and I can't speak, get out of here, and I gotta have it in time. And here's the thing, right, like I hear y'all being like oh, it's workers there and they need to be safe. I'm not speeding while they're there because there's nobody no one's here working. That's why it's still here. I'm trying to go home. I've been at work all day. I've been at work all day and I'm trying to get home.

Speaker 1:

So, yes, I front, I don't know who needs to hear that. The mayor, the governor, I don't care who it is, but y'all need to. I don't. Are y'all behind? What can I do to support? Are y'all behind budget? Do y'all need a better project manager? What is happening and when are they working on it? Because I never see workers, because I never see y'all working. I just see it being people working, but I don't never see them. Hence why it's taking 10 years to get it done.

Speaker 1:

City of city of indianapolis, get it together. It's unacceptable. I've had enough and I'm not gonna take it much longer. I'm not gonna take it much longer at all. I feel that, friend, that's what I needed to get off my chest this week. Let we should send it in and send an email, yes, to somebody, somebody up, I don't care, what ever, it's gotta stop, it's gonna stop.

Speaker 1:

Uh, friend, that's what I need to air out. What did you need to air out? What you gotta air out this week? Um, I have to air out, um, oh, let me look at a list of things. Come on, count them. How much time do we have, right? How much time do we have? I'll just name off one.

Speaker 1:

Um, I just need to air out the fact that people need to realize that when you're at work, you need to leave your personal issues at the door because you're at work, bottom line period, point blank. Um, you cannot walk into your place of employment and just decide you're just gonna just be insufferable because you're having a bad day. No, you're at work, right, you're at work, everybody's gonna be there, so right, and we're all going through stuff. But you know, I feel you right and I'm like, and there's a difference between like being able to be yourself at work and bringing your baggage to work. Like, yeah, don't, don't be mean to me because yo dude cheating on you, I don't got nothing right. It wasn't me and I didn't do it right. I didn't do it, it had nothing to do with me. Yeah, I was just sitting over here minding my good black business. Yeah, baby mama took you to court. I just came to work, that's it.

Speaker 1:

You should have called off today. You really should have. If you were feeling like that all day before you got here, you should have. Yeah, use your pto, get out of here. Use your pto, do something. You know y'all make up the whatever anyway. So, yeah, just just take it off.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, I mean, and I'll even say like, even more, like, just because you're having a bad day, like don't be mindful of transferring. Like, don't transfer your bad energy to me. Yes, don't do this, don't do this. Why are you doing that? Oh, yuck. And what's crazy is a lot of people don't even care about that. Like, they're just like. Well, of course, because they have other excuses to why they're like this, so they don't care about transferring energy and all of this stuff. They're like I don't care because I'm having a bad day. So you know what? That's the pettiest thing ever. I'm having a bad day, so I'm gonna meet everyone.

Speaker 1:

It's very scary as well, because you don't know what another person is going through, the person that's actually knowing how to still be a functioning adult with going through stuff. And then you decide that, oh no, I don't care, since I'm gonna have a bad day. You may end up someplace you can't come back through, and that's real. So it's best listen to your best interests, you know you, hey, you can choose what you, how you treat people, but you cannot choose how they respond to that treatment all the time. It does not matter if you're a ceo, um, whatever, whatever title you hold, if you decide to test somebody, that title does not say that, oh, you're safe. Not at all, not at all, because people out here are crazy.

Speaker 1:

Though, again, the work. The earth is ghetto, the earth is so ghetto and that's. And again, back it up instead of you being worked up like that. Remember, earth is ghetto, like what this is ghetto like. Don't become a hashtag, don't do that all because you were having a bad day. Don't do that. So, yeah, I just think people don't become a hashtag. You know, don't write a check. Yo. Don't let your mouth write a check your ass can't catch.

Speaker 1:

I'm saying it so it's in your best interest, just to be like you know what. Let me get through this work day and then I'm going to go home and I'm going to cry. That's okay, we all do it, because I'm going to cuss so and so out. I'm a journal, yeah, right, yeah, do whatever it is you need to do, but you just need to stop playing with people, because you never know how that's going to end. Yeah, that's a good one, zedia, I'm glad you got to air that out. I did. I just need to air that out really, really quick, real quick, yeah, hey, listeners, a quick reminder to subscribe and follow our podcast so you never miss an episode. And if you're enjoying the show, please rate and review us. Your support means the world to us.

Speaker 1:

Now back to the show. Uh, friend, we can, if you want, we can get ready to wrap this up. Um, you want to leave the people with a parting piece of advice, something, a thing they should know. Um, until next time. Yeah, a thing you should know is is if you have not seen the movie sinners, you definitely need to go see it. Um, multiple times if possible.

Speaker 1:

When it comes out, you need to purchase it on dvd. Come on dvd. Yes, even if you don't have a dvd player, buy it, purchase it, purchase it, pre-purchase it. We are not waiting for streaming services because we support black art. Come on. So, um, yeah, y'all need to spend your coins. Um, especially if you're still shopping at lululemon, I'm gonna need for you to purchase the movie centers at some capacity. Yep, rather, you order it on amazon. I don't care Me if you haven't seen it. You definitely need to go see it.

Speaker 1:

It's just, I just love when I leave somewhere and I'm just, I just love to be black and it's not rooted in black trauma. Yes, don't you love something that's not rooted in black trauma? Yeah, I'm like yeah, lee, why do I got to be so sad? Like, we know what happened. We get it. You did not have to make a blockbuster film about us picking cotton. We get it. What is wrong with you? I know, unfortunately, we need the blockbuster films because they're about to take it out the history books and um thing I think people should know this week change your air filters.

Speaker 1:

It's that time of year in your furnace, in your car, definitely your car. Change your air filters. You're out here talking about, oh, my allergies, my eyes are itching. Change your air filter, it'll help. It's crazy, it'll really help. Yeah, yeah, thank god, mine, um, I only have to change it once a year. Dang, how you get that. I don't. It's just, whatever the type that they did, whatever type of furnace I have, first of all, it's huge. The air filter is so big, hence why the amazon driver stole it, because I guess he thought I was ordering something expensive, because it was in a big old. I bought a pack of three Black Friday. I guess he thought, oh, this is really something. No, it's a pack of three air filters from my furnace. You could have left it, but whatever. But yeah, I only have to change mine once a year, which is good, because my attic is scary.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, but yeah, definitely, change your air filter. Change your air filters. Get, get some air purifiers. They're fairly cheap on amazon. Yeah, do that. Well, are they now? I mean, is anything cheap anymore, since you know, you know well, and here we are back to and this is why I'm in my main character energy cedilla.

Speaker 1:

I'm so excited to have you. I'm so excited as we sit here, a part of the 92 percent, and so we ain't got to worry about it. No, we don't. It's a lot of things that we can sit down about. There's a list of things we can sit out. One of my things this week was shannon sharp 92. We're staying out of that. I'm out of that.

Speaker 1:

Um, I don't even really know what happened with him. It's stuff that has nothing to do with us, ain't that? It has absolutely nothing to do with us. So, sir, bless your heart. Yeah, sadia, I think he should be interviewed to be a pope. Maybe that would help him. That might help him. Yeah, so I think that's a really great way to segue into reminding folks to drink water and mind your damn business. Especially, mind your good black business. Yes, my good black business business, and thank you all so much for listening to the things you should know. Hope this helped. We'll see you next time. Adios, okay, bye, okay, okay. You hear yourself here Shoot, I'm turning myself down too much. Hold on, I do. Okay, you hear yourself there. Shoot, I'm tearing myself down too much. Calm down, I do. Why can't I like? This thing keeps coming at me. I haven't had anything come at my face like this quite some time. So that much, oh, cynthia.
