What's up, gang Trenisha English here and you are listening to the Things you Should Know podcast and before we get started today, if you haven't already, here's your reminder to like and subscribe to the podcast, wherever you get your podcasts. Life ain't been life for me, ain't been no Christmas there. And a black man wrote that they love to write something. They love. They love to write. They love to write something. They love to write something. They love to record a video, but when it's time to put it goes down anyway.
Speaker 1:Anyway, we love a good vegas mile long story long. Leave black women alone. Leave us alone, god leave, leave us alone. And if you see one of us working, offer to take the work. Yeah, just offer to take it and don't try to make us like, prove our space. We nurse y'all babies. Chill, we got it. We nurse our babies. We cook y'all food. We taught y'all how to clean and recently and just now, we taught y'all how to wash y'all damn bodies, your legs, because y'all was leaving that part out. The whole thing, you're everything.
Speaker 1:I just seen a video where a white woman was and she was dead serious. She was like I'm not trying to be disrespectful, anything like that, but can black women please teach a class on hygiene? And she was dead, I mean. So I just had a conversation. Shout out to joe, my boss, who always is quickly another member of the podcast. Joe's birthday yesterday was. Happy birthday, joe, we love you. I gave you so much slack about me. I said, but I will say happy birthday, happy birthday, joe.
Speaker 1:I was just talking with her the other day and, um, we were talking about the disparities between people who use washcloths and people who don't. The fact that that's even two different categories is crazy to me. When I found that out of my adult age again, shout out to the neighborhood because they did a skit on that. Yes, I did not. I didn't know that there were a group of people that did not use actually a significant group of people as a wash. What do they thought was the reason for that? You know, I actually haven't been able to get to the bottom of that at all, because when you travel, when you go to a hotel, you have your bath towel, you have a hand towel, you have a washcloth and they just don't use that one. What did they think it was for Wiping up small messes? I don't know, that's crazy. Yeah, that is wild to me. That's crazy. Yeah, it's. Yeah, that is wild to me. That's crazy.
Speaker 1:I just, at the end of the day, black women have provided y'all with a lot of stuff and we deserve respect and just leave us alone. Leave us alone or cash up us. Cash up a black woman today For the rest of the year. Just wake up one morning and cash up a random black woman. Treat us the same. You know what we need. You know what black women need. I think this could really change things for us and I'm going to be honest, this is going to start off crazy, but just rock with me for a second. I think this could really change things for black women.
Speaker 1:What black women need is that a commercial to come on with a really sad song, like the feed, like the children? Yes, we do need that, but not a feet. Yes, that's what we need in that vein, not like that. Right, I feel like, yeah, like do you? Now that song is playing in my head. I don't want to use that one. I don't want to make it sound like we. It's bad out here. It ain't that bad, really quickly. So, speaking of songs, okay, sisqó Girl, don't get me started. Yeah, we're not going to do that.
Speaker 1:So, listeners, if y'all didn't know, I am a Sisqó stan, honey, I don't play about him. Saidi, I am a Cisco stan, honey, I don't play about him. She is the current president of the Cisco fan club. I don't like how she said current, like there's nobody else there, there's several of us, several. No, she didn't say many, she said several, because y'all don't know and y'all are not hip to it. But I love me some Cisco. I don't play about Cisco, no one dislikes Cisco. But you stand, y'all do so, y'all do, y'all really do. Y'all try to play him like he was not that nigga. And he is and still is okay, because y'all not about to keep doing him.
Speaker 1:Anyways, I was listening because beauty came on. Now, granted, that was Drew Hill, exactly Trenisha's body rolling right now. Again, I didn't say it wasn't good, but if you say anything, first of all, if you, if you just y'all saw it, y'all just heard it. I said cisco, and she got immediately defensive. It was the same verber that she talked about black women with. I really want to point that out because y'all not about to keep playing, because I still stand on this.
Speaker 1:Cisco had one of the best r&b albums when unleash the dragon came out. Go ahead and go listen to it, because I don't know Cuz y'all about to keep playing, cuz I still stand on this. Cisco had one of the best R&B albums when Unleash the Dragon came out. Go ahead and go listen to it, because I don't know what age range our listeners are, it doesn't matter. Go listen to it. Make it number one on Apple Music, because it was really a very, it was an awesome album.
Speaker 1:Anyway, I remember I was talking about because, again, again, you can't even say sis, I could be talking about Cisco, the food company, but Sadia is going up because I was talking about a song, about something I don't even know. Oh, okay, I remember, okay, I read it back. Um, so what would your like? Okay, have you seen, I'm gonna get you sucka. Yes, okay, absolutely, all right. So remember when he was saying like what was he talking about? What are you telling? Like what's your theme song? Or what's your like what? I can't remember what the exact line was. So, yeah, what would your like? Either theme song be like? What song would you feel like needs to play? Is your like walking into a yeah, yeah, return of the mac. You weren't expecting me to have an answer that quickly, listening to things you should know. Podcast. We really do appreciate you guys.
Speaker 1:100, I feel like anytime I walk into a room it used to be like come on, yeah, 100, I might walk down the aisle to that. You know what, as I was driving over here, I was thinking what my side would be and then I was like I don't know what. As I was driving over here, I was thinking of what my side would be and then I was like I don't know what Trenisha's going to say. I don't know if she, but you know what One thing I did say. I said it's going to be something just outlandish, super old, because she loves to throw out like a good, like old school track that you forgot about. But you know, you remember. But return of the mac is a good. Never enter my mind. 100, that's exactly what it would be okay for it, not even gonna lie.
Speaker 1:100, return of the mac. It is is always in my most played every year. It has never fallen out. Return of the Mack yes, whenever I'm feeling a little, get a little knock on the chin, be like something. Don't go my way. Feeling a little down, be like dang, dang, dang, play, return of the Mack. Everything turns around Because I just remind myself I am the mac.
Speaker 1:Okay, she's the mac. What's yours? You know what I beauty by dream? I mean I mean because you, because that is my jam, because it's one thing, and this is her, and Sadie is her name. Come on, yes, no, but mine would. So I have two, and they both have to do with lights, of course, and they both have to do with Kanye. So either, what is it?
Speaker 1:I was just listening to it, not all of the lights, all of the lights, my shit. Just that part, like, just think it's just like the rihanna, yeah, bet, oh yeah, no, 100, that would go, that would 100 go. And just a side thing, like if a man so I love like the drums on that song, oh yeah, it's so fire, it's so fire. If you play the drums, you want to get me to play that. I'm just going to be honest. I'm just going to be honest. We really be putting out gems. Ask somebody if they want plants. Yeah, that'll do it. Play the drums for all of the lights, all the lights, that'll also do it. And flashing lights too.
Speaker 1:I like flashing lights, lights, lights, lights, but it's more so like just any production by Kanye, because you know I stan Kanye as well. You ain't got no Yeezy El Cerrado. You ain't got no Yeezy nigga. You got no Yeezy yes, but it got to be Kanye. Anything by Kanye, yeah, I bet. Yeah, yes, love him. Yeah, yeah, 100%. Either Return of the Mack or Trap or Die by Young Jeezy. Oh, that's a good one. Yeah, that's a good one. Some of the jams that I would participate in.
Speaker 1:Hey, listeners, just a quick reminder to subscribe and follow our podcast so you never miss an episode and if you're enjoying the show, be sure to rate and review us. Your support means the world to us. Now let's get're enjoying the show. Be sure to rate and review us. Your support means the world to us. Now let's get back to the show. So kelly's about to go on tour. Kelly's about to be on opening on this boy is mine tour, which I gotta go. I don't really know how I feel about that. About kelly opening, yeah, about, about Kelly being an opener. What would you want Kelly to do? I'd call Headline. I mean, I get it's the boys' mom's tour, but Kelly wrote songs about boys. I just feel like, if we're.
Speaker 1:I think that Kelly's solo career is on par with Brandy and Monica's. Really, yes, am I like dreaming? Now listen the first album. But stole was a jam. Stole was a jam. It made you think. But I think, miss kelly and now I can't think of what the title of the third album was with the gray well, we have our phones right here, let's look our decent album.
Speaker 1:I, I mean, I would say I, okay, love kelly. Maybe she has less hit, I don't. She does have less. She has less hits. That's the thing about it. That's why I could never see her headlining anything, because she just has, she's headlined tours, has she? I mean smaller venues, I mean we're not talking about arenas yeah, well, like, yeah, old national, she's a national. Well, I don't know if she's headlined on national, don't get me lying but she's headlined like places that are about that size which I guess they're playing gang bridge.
Speaker 1:My whole thing is listen, you don't have all these tours with all these random people tank, two live crew, silk, jamie fox oh, two live crews crazy, you play every single time. I try to sit and just talk. You just always do the absolute most, every single time, every single time. I think trinisha likes for me to do a dramatic exit, because she likes to play with me and just see how far she can take me before I leave. Because two live crew is crazy. Where did that even come from? That's what I meant to say. It just got away from me. You went from tank to two live crew. It was crazy, crazy. I am upset with myself for that, as that's not what I mean. Was I trying to say 112? I don't know.
Speaker 1:But the point is they do all of these little hodgepodge concerts and we just saw monica on one and maybe I'm being colored by the fact that gunica showed up to that show and I was looking for monica and show up to this one, because I can't do another gunica show. Listen, I don't, I don't want to at all. Give me, I'll take 60, but I would really love 90 minutes. Brandy norwood oh, definitely, definitely. I'm really, I'm really interested to see how they're. I'll take 60, but I would really love 90 Minutes of Brandi Norwood. Oh, definitely, definitely. I'm really interested to see how they're going to do it, because they're co-headlining, right, yeah, and my like yeah, I don't know if they're going to do like a Come on, but y'all going to do the boys and mine boys, mine in the middle, because that's the other thing is.
Speaker 1:I mean, I guess they do have other songs together, but we don't know them, not that one where they came back together and did uh, what was it? Take the? Don't get me to lying. What was that song? Don't get me to lying. Nobody asked for.
Speaker 1:I will say this the ariana grande song was cute, but I only listened to it because I listened to ariana grande. Were they on there? Yeah, they were on it. Oh, yeah, it belongs to me. That's what it was. Yep, I never would have gotten there. Yeah, never, never, same, same. So, yeah, I don't know, but yeah, interesting, I'll be there though I think it'll be a good concert. Oh, it'd be cute. Yeah, who is brandy monica? Money long, kelly and money long, kelly and money long. You know the smell of your perfume.
Speaker 1:Y'all you girls loved that song, and the girl she's talking about is not me. I heard her interview where she said she's actually talking about her baby. People just want to be deep. So bad Girl, wait, I swear. She said people think I was talking about a woman, but the smell of your perfume I'm talking about baby smell.
Speaker 1:You know, every time they have conversations about artists, they'll be like oh, why didn't they go too far? Why didn't they go far? Why people sleep on them? Because they say stupid shit like that Girl. Shut up, take it for what it is and enjoy the ride. You just want to be deep. So bad, they wanted you to have an LGBTQIA anthem. Just take it. Just take it. Just take it and run with it. It's okay. It's a popping song. What does it have to do with destiny's child? Though? That's what I'm saying, right, like I know, you're giving us a rock album. Beyonce, you make great rock music. Maybe it's double-sided, if it's a double-sided with a. If it's double-sided, is blue ivy's premiere release get out? Okay, all right, if it's double-sided, is that?
