Branden Sewell (00:01.838)
Hi, everybody. I am Brandon Sewell. I'm the owner of SEAL Pro Painting, located in Central Florida, and I'm also the host of the Off the Ladder podcast. And we exist to help home service business owners learn so that they can lead well and ultimately live life off of the ladder. welcome to today's episode. it's been a while, just to give you guys a quick update. our third child was born.
on St. Patrick's Day of this year. So March 17th, 2026, we welcomed Easton into the world and he's been a joy. But in the you know, time leading up to Easton being born, there's a lot going on. The business, trying to do the podcasts, putting out content on social media, but also being a present husband and father.
there's just a lot of responsibilities there. And so, I truly just believe in seasons of life and prioritizing what is most important in certain seasons. And so during the season of bringing Easton into the world, I felt like the podcast needed to take a break. and so I just find these natural seasons that I find myself in where
I'm like, okay, it's okay to take a break. It's okay to step away from this for a season. And that's exactly what this is, right? This is a new season. So this is the launch of season four. And it's funny, like every season of my podcast has kind of come with a natural stopping point for one season and the start of a new one. And so that's really exciting for me. It kind of marks like new chapters of my life, new chapters as a business owner.
new chapters as far as like what I want to bring to this community, the content that I want to put out. And so it's just it's exciting. So to give you a quick life update, Easton is now almost three months old. and he is healthy, he's strong, he's growing, everything's good. he has
Branden Sewell (02:21.09)
you know, been surrounded by so much love by his two older siblings, Emmett and Everly. And Emmett is six now and started he went into he just finished up kindergarten and Everly is two. and probably the biggest update going on in our life is we've decided that my wife is going to now stay home. so that's that's that's a a new and exciting thing for us. It also comes with challenges and
you know, the challenges that a new season brings. but either way, we're excited. we, you know, put a lot of thought and prayer into that decision. and we really feel like that's what is God's best for us right now in this season of our life. And you know, my wife is excited about it and we have peace. And we know that it that doesn't mean that it's going to be easy, right? just because God is in the midst of something and just because
you feel like it's the right thing to do does not mean that it's going to come without struggles, sacrifice, you know, seasons of trials and learning and growing. And so there's kind of the anticipation that that's, you know, that is a reality. those things are going to happen. but we're ready to face that with you know, trust and faith in God. And
that he has the best in store for us moving forward. So it's a it's an exciting season season. you know, and with that said, what's exciting to me about this season is you know, just a background on you know, our life leading up to this point. my wife has worked full time, and I've grown the business. And, you know, with a business, obviously,
comes freedom and flexibility. So I've had a lot of flexibility to be the one who, you know, takes our kids to school and picks them up. And, you know, if they're sick, I end up staying home with them. And like I said, that's because owning my business, I had the freedom and the flexibility to do that, where my wife working full time did not. Now, what does this mean for this season? well in this season, my wife is going to be home covering the home
Branden Sewell (04:42.894)
front. She's gonna be, you know, taking care of our kids. They're gonna, you know, our two youngest will be at home with her. when after summer, obviously our oldest will go back to school and he'll start first grade. And you know, that's that's all exciting. But for me, that means I can put a hundred percent of my focus and you know my effort into
what I'm doing. And really the ultimate goal is like that these things will grow, right? So more focus and energy and effort into Seal Pro painting, growing the SEAL Pro Sealin Wash division of SEAL Pro painting. also growing this off the ladder podcast as well as all of my social media. so there's a lot of you know anticipation that
with this new focus, energy and effort into these things, that they're going to grow in this season. And so that's really exciting for me. So I'm you know, it's gonna take me a little bit of time to get into like a new routine, a new schedule and get get used to like, okay, now my wife is home and there's so much you know, that's gonna come off of my plate, because now my wife is gonna be home.
to take care of those things. So, you know, what I'm gonna be able to do, the time I'm gonna have, the time I'm gonna be able to invest into all this is really exciting for me. So I'm excited for you guys to be a part of this season. and what I would really say and what I'm I'm asking is to I'm asking for your support, right? this is a new season of, you know, not having a second household income.
having to really trust that God is going to provide in the midst of that. so please support the podcast, support you know, what I'm doing through social media and things like that. you know, share these podcasts with other people. if you find them helpful, or if you get anything from the off the ladder podcast. you know, some of the things that I'm kind of going through
Branden Sewell (07:05.026)
and just kind of asking myself, okay, where do I want to take this? obviously I make money and things like that through my brand deals and my brand partnerships, and those are great. And I have resources that I can share with you. So that's one way that you can support me, my family, support the Off the Ladder podcast in this community is through using those resources, whether it's jobber or nice job or
using the payroll company that I use, Gusto, there's, you know, a whole list of resources that I have. Call Rail. you know, if you utilize any of those, use any of my affiliate links to sign up for any of those services, I get credit for that and I do get paid. And so that would help to support me and support the podcast, support my family, all of those things. now what I will be
looking to do as well is you know I want to help you. If you're listening to this podcast and you want to get off the ladder, I want to help you. Now I don't have a specific structure to this, but I don't want to I will give like let's say a first you know meeting with you zoom meeting.
a 30-minute free consultation to give you my thoughts on where you are at and where you are with your business and what it might take for you to get off the ladder. Now beyond that free 30-minute consultation, I'm looking at the pot possibility of doing some one-on-one coaching and consulting to maybe dive deeper into some of the things that I've done since I've started my business to be off the ladder.
maybe this is your first time listening and you don't know my story, but I have ran my painting company since the beginning off the ladder. Like I've I've you know, there's been jobs here and there where I might have gone and jumped on a job, but the overall you know, time that I've owned my business, it's been off the ladder and working on my business and not in it. And so, you know, I'd love to share
Branden Sewell (09:24.01)
My knowledge, my wisdom, my experience, my failures, my wins with you, hopefully help you to get off the ladder and tell you how I've been able to accomplish that. So you know, I'm about to enter into my 10th year of business and you know, there's been a lot of highs and a lot of lows. but I've made it this far and been off the ladder. So I feel like I have value to share with you.
I can, you know, explain to you how I've built my business to support me off the ladder. And if that's something you're interested in, please reach out to me directly. you can send in a message through the podcast down below in the show notes. You can reach out to me on any of my social media: Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, or you can send me an email.
that's just gonna be info at brandonsool.com. and just let me know. Hey, I'm interested in this. I also have on my website brandonsool.com, there's a calendar calendar through Calendly where you could schedule a time to chat chat with me and we could go over that. but yeah, I'd love to have your support in growing this community and doing whatever I can really to you know, support my family.
and bring value to this community. so yeah, that's the season that I'm in. and you know I'd love to you know the other thing that I would say is as I'm getting this going again, I'm gonna need guests. So if you have someone that you can refer me to for a future episode or somebody you'd like to see on the podcast, send that my way.
if you're a listener, you're part of this community and you want to be on the podcast, jump one because at the end of the day, even if you're not off the ladder, there is value that you can bring to the community. There's I'm sure there's something that you are good at, something that you've learned, something you've been through that can bring value. And at the end of the day, an episode could be me giving you feedback, having a real conversation about where your business is at.
Branden Sewell (11:48.434)
and where you want it to be, and really having a strategic conversation about how you can get off the ladder. addressing real problems in real time, the real roadblocks that are k making you feel like you can't get off the ladder, and really just addressing those head on and giving you a strategy here on the podcast as an episode to get off the ladder. And what's great is like that will inspire.
other people who are part of this community. They they will listen to that and I'm sure there is value that they will find in hearing your story and hearing where you're at, but also probably helping them to not feel like they're alone, right? They hear a real experience. Like it's someone who is in it in the moment, the real challenges, the real roadblocks, the real mental roadblocks that you're facing that make you feel like you can't get off the ladder.
And we can address all of those on the podcast and put it out there so that others can really get something from it. So I think that would be really exciting too. so again, please if you're interested in that, reach out to me. Let's get you on here and get a recording going, have a conversation and get some value out there to the world. So you know, another way you can support me is obviously like subscribe to the channel, write a review about the Off the Ladder podcast.
Share it with other people who you know, your friends who are in the trades, who are, you know, maybe running a home service-based business and they, you know, want to get off the ladder. Share this with them. go back, listen to previous episodes. I would also say that if you are on any social media, follow me on Facebook, follow me on Instagram, follow me on LinkedIn, and I can put those links in the show notes. But
you know, showing your support in that way is huge too. yeah. So that's this is the first episode of season four. It's kind of just like a reintroduction, giving you an update into you know, the season of life that I'm in and where things are going. and you know, these episodes that are gonna that I'm gonna be doing.
Branden Sewell (14:12.724)
here in the beginning of getting this thing off the ground. they're just gonna be real. where I'm at, you know, what we're doing, what I'm trying to do. and I hope you guys will come along for the journey. It's not gonna be perfect, but it's gonna be honest. It's gonna be real. It's gonna be where we're at. and just grow this and see how it goes. And I hope you guys enjoy this podcast and I'd love your feedback.
If you have any feedback on previous episodes, what you loved, what you haven't, what you would like to see, I'd love to hear that feedback as well. I also just thought of this. So on my Instagram, I have a community. So if you go on to Instagram, you can see that I've got an off-the-ladder community. go join that. so yeah, that's that's pretty much everything. I am going to wrap this episode up.
I've got to go eat dinner with my family and get this recording over with. and thank you so much, guys, for being a part of the Off the Ladder podcast, the Off the Ladder community. I look forward to connecting with you, growing with you, and helping you in your journey to get off the ladder. I'll talk to you next time on the next episode of the Off the Ladder Podcast.
