00:02:33.919 --> 00:02:35.439 This is blasphemy. 00:02:35.759 --> 00:02:38.000 Only God can forgive sins. 00:02:38.400 --> 00:02:44.560 Jesus knew immediately what they were thinking, so he asked them, Why do you question this in your hearts? 00:04:39.040 --> 00:04:48.560 That news spread not from just where that man was, but when Jesus got back to Capernaum, the word had already gone ahead of him. 00:04:49.519 --> 00:04:55.279 Jesus is the most viral person that's ever lived on the face of the planet. 00:04:55.680 --> 00:05:13.360 Before there was a blue bird to tweet, before there was a Zuckerberg to face, before there was an Instagram to click, Jesus is and continues to be the most viral person that has ever been on planet Earth. 00:05:18.079 --> 00:05:26.959 In this space of grace that he is in during his earthly ministry, he comes back to Capernaum and he goes to a house. 00:05:30.160 --> 00:05:35.360 It didn't say that it was his, and he said himself that the Son of Man doesn't have a place to lay his head. 00:05:35.439 --> 00:05:40.000 We don't know if it was Peter's house, but this is Jewish culture and Jewish culture. 00:05:40.160 --> 00:05:41.360 Everyone is hospitable. 00:05:41.519 --> 00:05:46.480 Somebody gives him a house and everybody shows up to that house. 00:05:46.639 --> 00:05:51.120 Can you imagine if Jesus came to your house? 00:25:06.559 --> 00:25:11.519 Now, when Jesus asks this question, he is addressing two things at once. 00:25:12.000 --> 00:25:15.039 His authority and his ability. 00:25:16.160 --> 00:25:24.160 You see, with his authority, when he says your sins are forgiven, truly, I understand the position of the Pharisees. 00:25:25.039 --> 00:25:26.640 Who can prove that? 00:25:27.119 --> 00:25:30.240 There's no way that you can prove that his sins are forgiven. 00:25:30.319 --> 00:25:31.039 How do we know? 00:25:31.200 --> 00:25:32.559 Just because you said so. 00:25:33.839 --> 00:25:41.680 So Jesus says, okay, duly noted, you don't think that this is something that has actually happened?
