Hello and welcome to another Monday Mindset of Unleash your Inner Radiance. Oh, my goodness, it's going to be a tough day. I'm sorry. I am Lisa and I am a life wellness and transformation coach and I am so excited for you guys to be here today. I am just going to wing this one today really, really, really wing it, because something is really on my mind today.
Speaker 1:So I just got back from a week ago, an Empower you conference in Chicago which, to tell you the truth, was actually life changing. But what is funny about this whole thing is it's not only life changing, but it kind of put me in a funk, like I just was, like I don't even know what to do with myself, because I felt like I was leveling up so much when I was there. And then I'm like I don't know what happened this week. Well, I know what happened, but work happened and my dad happened. So my dad is struggling with dementia and he is starting hospice and it's just really tough on me because he's become really super, super angry, super, super angry. So I just want to talk about a whole bunch of different things today, because I just want to talk about everything that's on my mind and just share them with you, because maybe you're struggling with somebody who has dementia and you know, I just I don't know it's it's not fair, it's really truly not fair that any of us should have to struggle with that. But you know we are and my dad is a very angry person right now, which I don't blame him because a very angry person right now, which I don't blame him because you know he doesn't know who I am and I'm his caregiver and he says horrible things to me when I'm visiting him because he's just not happy and but that's okay. So if anybody else is struggling with someone who is struggling with dementia, please, please, I would love to chat because I you know it's not a very good Monday mindset thing to talk about, but it was just really on my heart and it's been a rough weekend with my dad, so I just wanted to share that.
Speaker 1:Another thing I wanted to talk to you about is I had this like revelation while I was listening to a book. So I am, I love to listen to books and I especially love to listen to books when the author is the one doing the readings. So I am reading, or listening to, unlocking the Quantum Woman by Shamina Taylor. Now this woman is out of this world but and she just has transformed her life like no other, and, as I've been on my journey of forgiveness and all that kind of stuff over the last three, four years, I'm so glad that I found her. But what was really the thing that just made me stop and go? Whoa, in chapter nine of her book.
Speaker 1:She is talking about one of her clients, is talking about one of her clients and one of her clients is named Lisa. How ironic that my name is Lisa, but she is describing this woman and her experiences to a T to my life and I'm like, and I'm like I wasn't even your client, but there's another Lisa out there that has experienced what I have experienced and it is just, it was actually mind blowing because I was like what? What? You are describing my life. You are describing my divorce. You are describing my marriage force. You are describing my marriage. You are describing the friend who I had that I supported her and I lived through it and she was not a very nice person to me for what I did for her and it just made me think that you know when you're going through something that's horrible, when you're going through a horrible marriage or a horrible divorce or financial troubles, or someone who is not paying you rent and who's taking advantage of you and then turns everybody against you and then turns everybody against you. It just was. It just made me think, wow, I'm not the only person that that has happened to. This is not just me that this happened to, and so I know this is supposed to be a Monday Mindset episode and I know that you know we should be talking about good things because we need to have a positive mindset, but you know, it just makes you think that all those times that you thought you were going through something alone and this is only happening to you and this is not happening to anyone else Be sure you reach out to somebody and ask for help, or reach out to somebody to talk to, because you are not going through it alone. You are not the only person that this experience is happening to. It's like, it's like it was just literally mind blowing Cause I'm like she is literally talking about me, me, I wish I could be coached by her, but I can't afford her. But it's like, wow, wow, I wasn't going through that alone. Somebody else went through it along with me and she coached them. She coached them through it.
Speaker 1:You know, when I went through everything, I I guess I was kind of selfish. When I came out of my marriage I took care of myself in in in not a very good way, but I feel for my daughters, who didn't get what they needed when I was trying to find myself and I can't take that back and I can't change it. I can't change what we all went through. I can't change anything. Anything. But what I did figure out in writing my chapter in Unstoppable 4, the powerhouse edition, was that I can change and rewrite the story. All I have to do is rewrite the story. But to rewrite the story, all I have to do is rewrite the story. But to rewrite the story takes a lot.
Speaker 1:It takes a lot of personal development and to look inside of us to figure out where our triggers are that block us up every time of us, to figure out how to bring out that person that we all have inside of us, that had dreams and ambitions and goals that were maybe knocked down, were not allowed to happen, were, I don't know, just squished by somebody For all those people who think that they are not enough, they are not worth it. You are not worth it. You know something that my dad said to me today. Now he has dementia and he didn't know who I was today. I know he treats the staff bad, but he told me that I was worthless today and I couldn't do anything right. That hurt. This is my dad, but you know, that's not the first time I've been told that by anyone not necessarily my dad, um but these are the things that you need to really just step back and go.
Speaker 1:These are the things that were said to me. These are the things that now I believe about myself. Are they true? Are they really true? The things that you are saying to yourself? Are those things that were said to you, whether it was when you were growing up, by boyfriends, by ex-husbands, by your husband, by co-workers, by people who you thought were your friends? Are they really what's true about you? Are they really the things that you should be repeating to yourself? Because what you really need to do is you need to and I'm going to do this because I need to figure out what my triggers are, and I'm going to do this because I need to figure out what my triggers are when I get angry about something silly. I want to know why I got angry. What story inside of me, what pain inside of me caused me to react that way, caused you to say, whoa, that reaction came from somewhere. Where did it come from? Where in my heart, in my soul, in my gut? Where where did that thing that just threw me for a loop and caused me to react that way? Where did that come from? Where you know? Come from when you know.
Speaker 1:Shamina recommends like a trigger book, which I think I'm going to try, because it just when you hear something that that you know happens to you. So she's talking about her trigger book and I'm like you know, certain things trigger me and I don't know why they're triggering you. But we can only work on ourselves to a certain point and then we have to say there's got to be more. There's got to be things in us that either people have said to us that have caused us to think a certain way, or traumas or something else has happened to us, like when we were five or six or seven, and we have to look at those things and go. Those are deep down in our soul or deep down in our gut. That's where we get the pain and we need to figure out how to quash those. We need to figure out how to say no more, no, it's not happening, we're done, we're not going to do this, we're not going to have these triggers. But what I thought was fun about the way she created her trigger book was it helps you because you're like oh, I reacted to this, but you also write down where it came from, so you can try to figure out what's keeping you blocked, what's keeping your finances blocked, what's keeping your forgiveness blocked, what's keeping you from just living the best life that you can live.
Speaker 1:And you know, as an adult, as a parent, we make mistakes. We make mistakes that affect our kids, even if they're adults. We make mistakes and we need to figure out how to make them right. But things have also happened to us that we need to work through. So I don't know, it's just a whole bunch of stuff just because it's just been a week. It's been a hard week at work, it's been a hard week with my dad, who is just really kind of giving up, and it's just been, I don't know, just an emotional week. And it snowed here in Minnesota and that was kind of icky and we didn't have everything closed up before it snowed, so we had to do a lot of work yesterday and I don't know, it's just things you just want to talk about that sometimes you just need to talk about. But that was my week.
Speaker 1:So you know, what are you guys struggling with right now that you would like me to come on here and talk about? Because I would love ideas, I would love things to talk about with you guys. What do you guys want to hear? What do you guys want to do? Oh, by the way, I'm putting together a masterclass. I haven't decided exactly when I'm going to do it, but if you are looking for a masterclass to join with other like-minded women, I would love for you to reach out to me because I would love to get you the information. But I guess I want to thank you guys for listening. Today it literally was kind of all over the board because there's just so many to think about.
Speaker 1:But you know, I guess, with all my things that I went through this week, I kind of saw how I self-sabotage, because you kind of go down a rabbit hole and you're just like, okay, well, I'm in my rabbit hole and I don't know how to get back out, you know, and sometimes you just go in and you're just like no, I'm stuck, and you just kind of get down on yourself and things just aren't working out the way you want them to work out. But do know that you are not alone in your struggles. We all have them. We all get a little bit depressed, we all get you know a little bit. We all get a little bit depressed, we all get you know a little bit whatever. And you know we've got the election on Tuesday and there's a lot of fighting right now, a lot of name-calling and a lot of angry people, but so there's just so much emotion, so much emotion. And yeah, I don't know, but this is Mindset Monday.
Speaker 1:I do not have an affirmation for you, my goodness. Affirmation for you, my goodness, can't even think of one off the top of my head. But I want to give you something to get bit of my book. Because one thing that I think would be fun when is me? 183. Where am I? Oh, there I am. You know what the title of my chapter is. The title of my chapter is. You Can't change it, but you can rewrite it. So what story do you want to rewrite. I want to rewrite the story of my dad having dementia. That's the story I want to rewrite right now, because it is such an ugly story to have. I want to rewrite the story and use everything that I went through to help everyone. So, let's see, I am going to read part of my chapter. And how about this? I am going to read a part of my chapter for you guys. So let's do this.
Speaker 1:I affirm that I am enough, just as I am. My worth is inherent and I honor myself for the journey that I have walked. I choose to live each day with intention, with and an unwavering commitment to growth. Together, we can rise above any challenge and create lives that reflect our deepest desires and true selves desires and true selves. I am an unstoppable and I am ready for all that lies ahead. How's that for your affirmation from Mindset Monday? I think that's pretty good.
Speaker 1:Anyway, I want to thank you guys for listening today, because I was kind of like this happened and this happened and this happened. But that's kind of the way my week went, and when you're in this up-leveling direction, I know that you can be kind of all befuddled, which is what kind of happened to me this week and I literally just went down a rabbit hole and I'm like I just can't even get out. This is this, is this. So I just wanted to share what my life is actually like and, yeah, that's what I wanted to do. And then I got to share a little bit of what I wrote. So if anybody would like my book, please reach out because I have copies and I will sign. They are $25. Let's see what else. That's all I got.
Speaker 1:I want you guys to we're in the first week of November. It is election day on Tuesday. If you live in Minnesota, it's kind of chilly. It snowed last week, which was kind of weird Halloween. It snowed, go figure. But I want you guys to remember that you guys are worth it. You are worth it. Don't let anybody ever dull your sparkle. Thank you for joining me on Unleash your Inner Radiance, and I will be back next Monday, kind of changing it up a little bit. If I have interviews, they will drop on Thursdays, but on Mondays I'm going to keep it as my Monday Mindsets. So you might have Mondays and Thursdays, but you'll definitely always have Mondays. So so thank you from the bottom of my heart for all of your support and for being here with me and have a great week.
