Unleash Your Inner Radiance!

Balancing Purpose and Pressure

Unleash Your Inner Radiance/ Lisa Dorn Season 2 Episode 113

Your heartbeat is a permission slip to be, not just do. This profound truth sits at the center of the exhausting tightrope we walk between purpose and pressure, particularly for those juggling motherhood, entrepreneurship, and personal dreams.

When was the last time you woke up feeling completely depleted yet faced a day demanding your full presence? That struggle—the quiet strength it takes to show up when you're stretched thin—is what we're diving into with radical honesty. The beautiful paradox many of us experience is feeling simultaneously lit up by purpose and utterly burnt out by its demands. This tension isn't a sign of failure; it's the natural consequence of living with passion in a world that rarely slows down.

For mothers, this tension becomes particularly poignant around Mother's Day—a celebration that can carry undertones of grief, exhaustion, and the complexity of nurturing others while trying not to neglect ourselves. As we build businesses, pursue multiple income streams, or launch ventures that align with our deepest values (like the wellness and wealth initiative Nueva), we're constantly navigating the fine line between inspired action and overwhelming pressure. The truth? You don't need to hustle harder. You need to connect deeper—to your truth, your why, and your authentic voice.

Remember these five essential truths: You are enough just as you are. Rest isn't something you earn; it's your fundamental right. You can create magic without sacrificing peace. Being present matters more than being perfect. And authenticity trumps performance every time. Whether today finds you tired, inspired, or somewhere in between, know that you're not behind or broken—you're becoming. Send me a DM if you're ready to align your wellness and wealth; I'd love to walk this journey with you. Your radiance isn't something you create—it's something you simply allow to shine through.

Speaker 1:

Hey, beautiful souls, welcome back to another episode of Unleash your Inner Radiance. This is your safe space to grow, glow and, unapologetically, rise to your fullest self. I'm your Catalyst, life and Wellness Coach, lisa, and today I want to have a real heart-to-heart conversation with you. Let me ask you something have you ever had one of those mornings where you wake up and think how am I supposed to pour into everyone else when I feel like I'm running on empty? If you're nodding your head right now, this episode is for you. This isn't really going to. Episode is for you. This isn't really going to. It's not. Let's just say this isn't going to be a perfectly packaged motivational pep talk, because I just started the sentence out really messy, right? That's not going to happen Today. It's going to just be about real truth. It's about the quiet strength that it takes to get up. Show up when you're already stretched thin and I know a lot of mamas out there feel that way. A lot of people starting new businesses feel that way. A lot of people doing podcasts feel that way. A lot of people who coach I mean, if you have your own business I'm also in real estate it is tough when you need to get up and show up and you have no boss to tell you to get up and show up, right? It's about the beauty and sometimes the burnout that happens, but in the beauty there's growth, in the burnout there's also growth. It's about being a woman who does it all, especially when you feel called to do more and you think I want to do this now, or I want to add this because I'm the type of person I like to have several streams of income right. My goal is seven streams of income, so I feel like I'm being called to do more, and sometimes it's really hard to get up and go. Oh, I need to do these things right. I need to keep doing these steps so that it produces this. Because here's the thing we are all visionaries, we're creators, we're caregivers, we're legacy builders, but we are also human and that matters.

Speaker 1:

So let's dive in. Let's start with Mother's Day. It just passed, it was yesterday. I hope all you moms had an amazing day, and while my heart is still warm from the love and celebration, there's a little ache today, a little whisper of grief, a wave of gratitude, though, and like a tinge of exhaustion, you know, for those of us moms, or those of us who are moms, mother's Day can be beautiful and bittersweet. Maybe you felt seen yesterday, you felt loved, you felt appreciated. Maybe you smiled through pain, kind of like I did, because you're missing someone, like I'm missing my mom. Every Mother's Day it's hard. Every birthday of mine it's hard, you know, it's just it's. You know, I don't know. I really really, truly miss my mom on Mother's Day, and you know, and today it's Monday and everything is back on our shoulders.

Speaker 1:

So yesterday I had an amazing day with my daughters. We got pedicures, we had lunch, we played games. It was the best day. But still in the back of my mind was that little red cardinal that showed up in the morning. You know that's my mom, right? You know that's my mom right, watching out for my angel, right?

Speaker 1:

You know whether you're juggling kids or schedules or jobs or responsibilities, maybe a business or a dream, you are trying so hard to keep alive between loads of laundry and somewhere in all that chaos we're supposed to remember who we are. It's a lot. And here's something that I've come really deeply to believe you can be lit up by your purpose and still feel completely burnt out. Let me repeat that you can be lit up by your purpose and still feel completely burnt out. Now, lately, I've been in the launch energy of something that truly excites me, which is Nueva, of something that truly excites me, which is Nueva. So this is a new wellness and wealth venture which I am so excited about and it just truly lights me up from the inside. The mission is so aligned, the heart is there and I know it is going to change lives, including mind, including my mind, my life, my mind, everything is changing. It's just simply amazing.

Speaker 1:

But can I be honest, there are still moments I feel so incredibly overwhelmed and I think, oh my gosh, can I do one more thing that is so big? But I'm building something beautiful and I'm learning to hold space for my humanity. I'm learning to hold space for my humanity. So, if you've ever felt the tension between purpose and pressure, you're not alone. Side hustles can be soul crushers If we are not being intentional crushers. If we are not being intentional, things just kind of can go sideways and dreams can feel like burdens. But they start to feel like that and they can, especially if we forget to rest and that brings me to motherhood, it can be the most sacred calling and stretch you to your limit. So I want to share a few reminders from my heart to yours. One you are enough. You are exactly how you're supposed to be, who you're supposed to be, who you're supposed to be. You are enough, just as you are. Even on your worst day, even when you're behind, even when you feel like you're failing, you are enough.

Speaker 1:

Number two you are allowed to rest without guilt. You are allowed to rest without guilt. You don't need to earn your downtime. Rest is not a reward, it is a right. Now I really struggle with this one because I'm like oh, I can write five more letters before I do this, or I can do this before I do this, or I shouldn't go downstairs and do what I want to do, because I really should write letters, because that's income, or I really should post, or I really should do this. Right, I even need to work on. I'm allowed to rest. It's okay to have a day where I just rest.

Speaker 1:

Number three you are capable of creating magic, but not at the cost of your peace. I want you to let alignment lead you, not urgency. If you are aligned with something, your magic that you can create will just be there. It will be so amazing. Four I want you to be present with your kids, whether they are young or growing. Be present with yourself, too.

Speaker 1:

Self-neglect is not noble, it's not, and your needs matter too. But put down the phone, be present, be in the conversation, be in the now. Don't be in your head thinking about whatever else you need to do. The grocery shopping can wait and you don't need to think about your list. Be present with your kids, whether they're kids or adults. Be present. And five stop trying to be everything for everyone. Be real, be grounded and be you. That's who your people, your kids, your audience, your community. That's who they really need is you to be authentic. And if you're building something on the side right now a podcast, a brand, a coaching business, a community like Nueva know this you don't need to hustle harder. You need to connect deeper. You need to build relationships to your truth, to your why, to your voice, because when you lead from that space, everything will change. Everything changes.

Speaker 1:

So, before we close, I wanted you to place a hand on your heart right now. Even if you're walking, multitasking, driving, I don't care, you can put one hand on your heart and I want you to pause for a moment. I want you to breathe. Do you feel your heartbeat? That's your power, that's your purpose, that's your permission slip to be, not just do. That is your permission slip, your heart. You don't need to earn worthiness through your work. Self-worth is internal and you don't need to prove anything by being everything. You're already radiant, already powerful, already enough.

Speaker 1:

If today you feel tired, be gentle. If today you feel inspired, take a step. If today you feel both, you're exactly where you're meant to be. I believe in your ability to rest and rise, to slow down and shine, to create wealth and well-being. So, whether you're showing up in motherhood, entrepreneurship, healing or just getting through your Monday, know this you are not behind, you are not broken, you are becoming.

Speaker 1:

And if you think that you're too old to try something, think again, because you are never too old to rebrand yourself and to start over and to start a business. Never, and I promise you, the world needs exactly what you can bring to the table. It's there, it's for you, so you just have to do it. That little thing in your gut that has been your vision since you were a child and you were like that's what I want to do. Bring it to the table and do it.

Speaker 1:
