Your calling didn’t come with a calendar invite, and that’s exactly why so few people get it. We dive into the tension between private conviction and public misunderstanding, exploring how growth can trigger other people’s discomfort—and why their confusion isn’t your compass. From unlearning the “everyone must approve” myth to navigating the lonely middle space where old identities fade and new ones aren’t formed yet, we share a grounded path for moving forward without applause.

We talk about the social dynamics that surface when you change: your courage can expose what others avoid, your movement can disrupt their stillness, and your healing can rattle what’s been buried. Instead of shrinking, we walk through practical ways to protect your energy—stop over explaining, choose quiet action, and let consistency and peace be your evidence. You’ll hear a clear reframe on faith versus familiarity, and why momentum shows up after obedience, not before. We also offer tangible signs that you’re on track: feeling peace in hard moments, willingness to be uncomfortable, and the sense that your old life no longer fits.

By the end, you’ll have questions to sit with—where are you waiting for validation instead of trusting your calling, and are you seeking agreement or alignment? You’ll leave with simple practices for steady progress and a reminder that your path is personal. Some people will catch up; some never will. Both are okay. SPEAKER_00:

Welcome to Unleash Your Inner Radiance. I'm Lisa, your life wellness and transformation coach, and today's episode is for the woman who feels misunderstood. You're changing, you're growing, you feel pulled towards something bigger. And the people around you, they don't get it. Here's the truth that you need to hear. Nobody's supposed to understand your calling because it wasn't a conference call. So let's talk about that. Why is that not a problem? And why might it be proof that you are exactly where you are meant to be? So take a breath and let's settle in and let's go. The lie we are taught early on. Somewhere along the way, you were taught this lie. If it's real, everyone will support it. If it's meant for you, people will cheer. If it's right, it will make sense to others. That sounds nice. It's also wrong. Growth rarely comes with a group vote. Most callings arrive quietly. They show up as a nudge that you can't ignore, a restlessness that you can't shake, uh knowing that you can't explain. And when you try to explain it, you fumble. The words don't land on anyone, and people tilt their heads and say, Are you sure? Because that doesn't seem practical. And why would you risk that? So what do you do? Like most of us, you start questioning yourself. Here's the reframe, though. Confusion from others doesn't mean confusion in you, it just means the message wasn't meant for them. Let that sink in. That message wasn't meant for them, if they're not cheering you on. And here's another thing, which I think is really funny when it's stated like this. It wasn't a conference call. So not everybody should know what you're doing. Because your calling didn't come through a coop chat. There was no calendar invite. There was no agenda, no QA. It was personal. It was personal to you. It was specific, intentional. Your calling met you where you were, with your story, with your wounds, with your experience. They weren't there when it was planted. That's why not everyone understands it. They didn't feel what you felt, they didn't walk through what you survived. They didn't walk through what I survived. That's why people look at me and go, why and how do you think you can do this? They did not walk in my shoes. So I want you to stop waiting for permission from people who weren't even part of the conversation. Yes, it was probably the conversation with you in your heart, in the pit of your stomach, in your mind. It was when you were young and you used to dream. Do you remember when we used to dream prior to having cell phones? Now we just scroll and say, oh, look what they've got. Oh, look what they're doing. Oh, look at their life. No, this is our life. And we do not need permission from anyone else to live it. So let's talk about why people resist your growth. Because let's get honest. Sometimes people don't misunderstand your calling, they're actually threatened by it. Not because you're doing something wrong, because you're not, but because your growth often reflects what they've avoided. Your courage that you dug deep down inside highlights what they're uncomfortable with. It takes them out of their comfort zone. Your movement, it kind of disrupts their stillness. It disrupts their way of life, their, you know, what they think is safe, right? And your healing, all the healing that you have done, what it's doing is it's exposing what they've buried so deep down inside of them. So they ask questions, they poke holes, and they label it like unrealistic. That's what discomfort is. And you don't need to shrink to make others feel safe. They want to feel safe in their little life, let them feel safe, but they're not going to feel safe if you push them, and they're not going to cheer for you. This is kind of a I'm doing this, and you just need to watch, not judge. You need to watch me because there is a loneliness of being called, and really nobody talks about this part. It it is you can feel so incredibly lonely, and yet you can be surrounded by people and still feel unseen. So you might outgrow rooms before you know where you're headed next, right? Friendships evolve and friendships grow. So what might happen is you might release identities before the new one feels solid. So you're growing, you're evolving, and that's space. And I know it's uncomfortable, it's also scared, but it's also sacred. Because this is where your clarity forms. This is where your resilience is built, and this is where you learn to trust yourself without applause. You don't need the applause from anyone. So I want you to ask yourself: can I keep going even if no one claps? Yes, you can. You can. It is hard, it is quiet, and you feel like you're doing this alone, but you're not. So stop explaining yourself. Here is your permission slip. You don't owe everyone an explanation. Not your timeline, not your pivot, not your dream. Because over explaining drains your energy and it invites opinions that were never assigned to you, that you don't need. So I want you to do this instead, okay? I want you to move quietly, let your consistency speak, let your peace be the evidence. And the people who need to understand, they'll they'll catch up later. And of course, some never will, but both are okay, and you need to be okay with that. See, right now, you need to have faith over familiarity. That is a really hard word. Oh, familiarity. Anyway, you know what I'm talking about. Because most people choose being familiar over their faith. And they stay because it's safe, because it's known. But you're leaving because you're called, and that requires trust, not in the outcome, but in yourself. And you won't always see the whole staircase. And trust me, I am a people pleaser and I need to know where I'm going and how I'm gonna get there. But guess what? We don't need to see the whole staircase. We just need to be consistent, we just need to keep showing up, and then you'll see the next step, and then I want you to take it because momentum comes, it comes after the obedience, not before, not before. So be consistent, show up, let them just watch you. That's what you need to do, and I want to show you some signs that you're actually on the right path. So let me ground this for you. Here are the signs that you're not crazy, that you're called. You feel peace even when it's hard. You're willing to be uncomfortable for growth. You can't go back to where you were five years ago because your old life no longer fits you. That's not confusion, that, my friend, is evolution, and that is where you start to shine. So a gentle challenge for you. I want you to sit with this question. Where are you waiting for validation instead of trusting your calling? Where are you waiting for validation instead of trusting your calling? And this one. You don't need an agreement. What you need is alignment. You need to find your alignment. If you find your confidence, keep your consistency going, you will fall into alignment and everything you're doing will work. But you just need to keep going so that you find your alignment, you find your energy, and you find your peace. If this episode landed with you, please, please, please, please share it with a woman who is quietly becoming someone new, and you know who that person is. And if you're in that in-between space, seen by a few, misunderstood by many, but you're still moving forward, I see you. Your calling is real, even when it's lonely, even when it's unclear, even when no one understands yet. Because it wasn't a conference call. It was personal. It was personal. Until next time, keep choosing growth, keep honoring your knowing, and keep unleashing your inner radiance. See you next week.
