What if the real reason you’re stuck isn’t a lack of talent but a vision that’s been downsized to fit your fear? We take a clear-eyed look at how “being realistic” quietly edits our desires, keeps us in comfortable rooms, and turns someday into a lifelong stall—and then we build a better plan.

We start by reframing goals so they shape identity rather than just outcomes. Think bigger on purpose: a ten-year vision that asks where you live, how you spend your mornings, who surrounds you, how your body feels, and what legacy you’re building. Then we work backward—year by year—into this year’s essential habits, skills, environments, and communities. Along the way, we trade motivation myths for daily systems: short deadlines, one hard thing early, simple routines that kill decision fatigue, and honest tracking that compounds progress.

Failure gets a promotion here; it becomes a teacher that sharpens judgment and reveals the next skill to acquire. We talk about finding rooms where you’re not the biggest thinker, creating non-negotiables that nudge identity forward, and adopting the farmer mindset: plant, water, tend, and trust the slow, visible-then-sudden growth of consistent action. Average isn’t a lack of talent—it’s a lack of vision. Hold a bigger one, pair it with daily action, and watch your future break through the soil.

If this stirred something in you and you’re ready to stop playing small, subscribe, share this with a friend who needs the nudge, and leave a review with the one habit you’ll begin today.

SPEAKER_00:

Welcome back to Unleash Your Inner Radiance. I want to start today with a truth that might feel uncomfortable. But if you let it land on you, it can change everything. Most people don't fail because they're incapable. They fail because they shrink their vision to match their fear. I'm Lisa. I'm your life, wellness, and transformation coach, and I'm a real estate agent in the beautiful state of Minnesota, which isn't so beautiful right now, but that's for another episode. Anyway, here's what happens: you dream just big enough to feel safe, just small enough to avoid disappointment, and they wonder why life feels average. If you've ever felt like you're meant for more, more impact, more freedom, more alignment, more confidence, this episode is for you. Because today we're going to talk about vision, fear, growth, and the courage it takes to stop holding yourself back and start building the life that you actually want. So take a deep breath, get comfortable, and let's stretch your thinking. So, like I said, today's episode is a loving but firm wake-up call. Because if I'm being honest, most people aren't failing because they're incapable. They're actually failing because they're shrinking their vision to match their fear. And if you do that long enough, you will never rise beyond average. You will never quit that nine to five job. You will never dream of following your passion to make it big. So let's talk about it. Somewhere along the way, many of us learned to dream small. And I'm not quite sure when that happened for me. Um, but I'm thinking somewhere around four or five. But I think we learned that so that we wouldn't be disappointed. We started editing our desires, our goals, our dreams, our visions for our future. Because we wanted to feel realistic. We replaced our bold vision with safety. Remember when we used to role play when we were kids? Where did that go? Right? We had dreams. We we I don't know, played with Barbies, and our Barbies had dreams, and they had houses, and we talked about future and talked about where we were gonna go and what we were gonna do. Do you feel those in the gut of your stomach where you're just like, I had a dream to start this business? Maybe in high school you were like, oh, I want to do this when I grow up, but then you had a husband and a family, and your dreams just got pushed aside. Oh, when my kids grow up, oh, win this, win this, win this. When did we lose it? And then we wondered, like I wondered, why life felt flat. Here's a reframe that changed everything for me. I want you to set a goal so incredibly big that it stretches you to become so huge so that you can achieve it. For example, set a goal to become a millionaire. Not for the money, but just imagine what it will take to make you get there. Imagine the 10 pages a day that you read to expand your mind. It'll take the discipline, the courage, the leadership, the mindset, and the capacity. And huge, big, huge goals that don't just change your bank account. Those huge goals will change your identity. Isn't that just something to think about? Now let's talk about the word someday. Someday I'll write the book. Someday I'll start the business. Someday I'll get serious about my health. Someday I'll work out. Someday I'll be successful. Someday is a comfort plan. Someday I'll start that business that I've always wanted to start. Someday I'll quit that nine to five job and become the person and the version of myself that I want to be. Because someday is a comfort word and it lets you be productive or feel productive without taking any action. And someday keeps people stuck for decades instead of someday, we do this differently. You hold a huge, expansive vision, and you pair it with short, clear, smart goals. Let's do this together. I want you to imagine your life in 10 years. What does your life look like 10 years from now? Not next year, not five years, 10 years. Mine, I'll be retired. But here's the questions I want to ask you. Where are you living? What does your home look like? How do you spend your mornings? How do you spend your evenings? How do you spend your day? Who are you surrounded by? What does your work feel like? How do you feel in your body? How do you serve others? What legacy are you building? And there's so many more questions we can add to that, but I just want you to sit with those. Now here's where the magic happens. We work backwards. Ten years becomes nine, nine becomes eight, eight becomes seven, then five, then four, then three, then two, and now it's this year. What must happen this year to set you up for next year? What habits must exist? What skills must you build? What environment must you be in? What groups must you be in? What communities must you be in so that you can grow? Because here's the truth. The actions that you take today create tomorrow's reality. So what actions are you taking today to create tomorrow's reality? See, if you shrink your vision to match your fear, you will talk yourself out of every action every single time. Because fear loves comfort, fear loves excuses, fear loves maybe later. You don't need more motivation. What you actually need is a new way of thinking. Because the way I look at it, failure is not the enemy. Failure is actually your teacher. Because failure sharpens you, failure humbles you, and failure shows you exactly where to grow. You didn't fail, you learned. You always need to fall forward. So stop waiting for weekends, stop waiting for perfect timing, and give yourself really short deadlines. Like not in a month, not next quarter. Daily focus. Measure your progress. Progress daily. Measure your progress daily. Eliminate decision fatigue because that is real. And make fewer decisions by creating routines. And then I want you to ask yourself the bigger questions. How can I do this ten times bigger? Who do I need to become for this to actually work? In what environment or community would stretch me? See, you need to expose yourself to rooms where you're not the bigger think, biggest thinker. Yeah, you're not the biggest thinker. I want you to surround yourself with builders, leaders, creators, so that you can stretch your vision beyond anything you ever believed it could be. Write your goals down for the next 10 years. That's what I want you guys to do. I want you to sit with this episode, and I want you to write down your goals for the next 10 years. And I want you to stop thinking of it only as a to-do list. Think about it as your legacy. Ask yourself this question and don't rush the answer. What would my life look like if I didn't hold back? Now let me paint you a picture. Your life is like a field, or in real estate, we call it a farm. And a farm in real estate is where we mail out postcards, right? And you might mail them out monthly, you might mail them out every six months, but you mail them for years to cultivate buyers and sellers, right? So you don't plant seeds and expect tomatoes tomorrow. You plant, you water, you tend the soil, and you show up every single day. Just waiting for that little growth to expose itself to the sun. Because nothing looks like it's happening at first. Then one day, something breaks through the soil. Growth takes time, but it will always, but it always rewards consistency. So here's how you live out this daily. Start your day with intention. Do one hard thing early. Serve someone quietly. This is my way of serving you guys. It's not really quiet because I'm loud, but you serve somebody, give value to people, right? And then end your day with reflection. Because I want you to create non-negotiables. I want you to be able to quit that nine to five job. I want you to think like a creator, build courage through action, lead with service and live for your legacy. You're not going to live for a legacy working in that nine to five job that you're working in. Because average isn't a lack of talent, average is a lack of vision. You have that vision, follow it. And you, you were meant for more, made for more. So on next till next time, I want you guys to keep choosing growth. Keep stretching your vision. That's what I want you guys to do. If this episode stirred something in you, if you know you're done playing small and ready to build with intention, this is where I invite you to take the next step. My coaching programs are designed for women who are ready to break out of self-doubt, build confidence and clarity, create real momentum in their lives, and to step into the version of themselves they know they're meant to become. You don't have to do this alone. Transformation happens faster with support, structure, and accountability. If you want to learn more, you can check out ChangeYourlife with Lisa.com. And I'll see you on the inside. But here's what I want you to remember as we wrap up. Your future isn't created by someday, it's created by what you choose to do next. You don't need to have it all figured out. You don't need to, you just need to do it. You just need to stop shrinking yourself to stay comfortable. Big visions don't make you unrealistic. They make you intentional. Don't let somebody tell you that you're too much. Every habit you build, every choice you make, every time you show up when it's hard, that's you planting seeds. And one day, what you've been quietly cultivating will rise through the soil and surprise you. Don't let fear decide the size of your life. You were never meant to live small. See you guys next week.
