Hello, my beautiful friends. Welcome back to Reclaim Your Inner Balance. I'm Lisa Dorn and I am so incredibly grateful that you guys are here. Last week we talked about coming home to yourself. We talked about releasing the expectations, the labels, and the old stories that no longer fit. And today I want to ask you guys a question: Who are you becoming? Not who were you, not who everyone expects you to be, but who are you becoming? Because I believe something with all my heart. Your future self is ready and waiting for you. She is just waiting and hoping that you will catch up. I know that sounds funny, but think about it. Imagine meeting yourself live in five years. In five years from now, imagine waiting yourself. Meeting yourself. She's healthier, she smiles more, she laughs more, she has boundaries, she sleeps better, she wakes up excited, she has peace, she has purpose, she has energy. Now here's my question: What did she start doing today that got her there? That question changed everything for me. Because for years I focused on goals, like to lose weight, to make more money, grow my business, become successful, just to cross another finish line. Then one day I realized something. Goals are wonderful, but identity changes are everything. You see, successful people don't become successful because they accomplish one goal. They become successful because they become someone different. Healthy people don't simply lose weight, they become someone who chooses health every day. Confident women don't wake up confident overnight. They create a practice around confidence. They create it or find it or go back to where they had the purpose because they didn't create it one decision at a time. They went back and found it. They created the purpose and created their purpose-driven life. So today I want to talk about three things that can completely change your life: gratitude, balance, and purpose. Let's start with gratitude. Most people think gratitude is saying thank you. And yes, that is a part of it. That goes more with your kindness, right? But gratitude is so much bare than that. Gratitude changes the way your brain pays attention. Think about buying a new vehicle. Suddenly you see that same vehicle everywhere. Did everyone suddenly buy one? No, they didn't. Your brain simply started noticing. And gratitude works the same way. When you begin looking for what's good, you begin finding more good. Does that mean that your life is perfect? Absolutely not. You're gonna still have hard days, you're still gonna get discouraged, you're still gonna have moments where you question yourself. Because I have all those things, right? The difference is I don't stay there. Every morning before my feet, oh boy, before my feet hit the floor, I ask myself three questions. What am I grateful for today? Who can I encourage today? And how can I become just one percent better today? Notice that I didn't ask, how can I become perfect? Because you know what? Perfection is exhausting, but progress is super exciting. So one percent doesn't sound like much until you do it every day. Now let's talk about balance. Can I let you in on a little secret? I don't think balance means everything gets equal attention. Some days my business needs more of me, some days my family needs more of me. Some days my health has to come first, and sometimes the best thing I can do for everyone around me is take a nap. Can I get an amen? Naps are important. Some of you laughed because you know exactly what I'm talking about. Balance isn't about judging what you're doing or even juggling 50 balls without dropping one. Balance is about knowing which ball deserves your attention today, and that's freedom. Here's something I want you to try. Instead of asking, what do I have to do today? Ask what matters most today. Because those are two very different questions. One creates pressure, I have to do it, and one creates purpose, what matters most today. So let's talk about purpose. This is one of my favorite conversations because I think we've complicated purpose. We think purpose has to be some giant calling, like a best-selling book, which I do have, a million-dollar business, a huge stage, or changing the entire world. Well, okay, maybe, but maybe not. Maybe your purpose today is to encourage one person. Maybe it's to choose joy, maybe it's taking care of your health, like taking that nap. Maybe it's forgiving yourself, maybe it's showing your children what courage looks like. Because purpose doesn't have to be loud, sometimes it just whispers. Sometimes purpose looks like consistency, sometimes purpose looks like showing up. And one of the biggest lessons I've learned in this is that inspiration rarely comes before action. We wait sometimes until we get motived, motivated. We because once we get motived, motivated, boy, I cannot say that word today, motivated, then we'll exercise, then we'll write that book, then we'll make that phone call, then we'll launch that business. But motivation often shows up way after we begin. Because action requires momentum. Confidence requires inspiration. So you've got action, which creates your momentum, your momentum, which creates your confidence, and your confidence, which creates your inspiration. So if you've been waiting to feel inspired, maybe today is your sign to simply begin. Take a walk, read one chapter, drink that water, call a friend, start the journal, send the email, and take one tiny step. Your future self is cheering you on. Now I want to give you a little exercise. Picture yourself one year from today. Not five, just one. And you're standing in front of yourself. How does she look? Does she look peaceful? She looks healthy. She looks joyful. And ask these three questions. What should I stop doing? What should I start doing? What do I need to trust? With those three questions, I want you to write down whatever comes to mind. Don't judge it, just listen. Because sometimes our hearts already know the answer before our minds catch up. It's not a bucket list. It's an inspiration list. So write down twenty things that make you feel alive. Maybe it's kayaking. Maybe it's reading outside. Maybe it's watching the sunrise, listening to music from the 80s. Yes. Walking your dog, gardening, gardening is mine. Trying a new coffee shop. Learning something new, volunteering, traveling, calling an old friend, dancing in your kitchen. When is the last time you danced to 80s music in your kitchen? You see, life isn't just about checking off all the responsibilities. It's about connecting moments that remind you that you are alive. And one of my favorite questions is this When was the last time you did something for the very first time? Think about it. Because growth lives outside routine. Try a new hiking trail. Try taking a painting class. Learn to play pickleball. I would actually love to learn to play pickleball. Visit a town that you've never explored. Read a book that you normally wouldn't choose. See, every experience teaches your brain something powerful. That you're still growing, that you're still becoming, and that you're still capable of change. Just think about that. Every book you pick up, and set this goal for yourself. Pick a book and read ten pages every day of that book until that book's done. And see how much you grew from that book. You might like it. Because you are still capable of change, no matter what age you are. So as we wrap up today, I want you to remember this. Your future isn't built by one massive decision. It's built by hundreds of tiny ones. So choose gratitude, choose curiosity, choose movement, because that is going to help you a lot. Choose purpose, choose yourself again and again and again and again. And guess what? If you do those things, you ask yourself those questions every single morning. One day you'll wake up, you'll look around at your life, and you'll realize you became the woman you once dreamed about. Not because life became easier, but because you became stronger. Not harder, stronger. And that's the difference. So before we go, here's one challenge for you for the week. Every evening, write down three things. One thing you're grateful for, one thing you've learned, and one thing your future self would be proud of. So now you have three questions in the morning to ask yourself, and three prompts for journaling every night. Do that for seven days, and I promise you you will begin seeing your life differently. Thank you so much for spending this time with me. If today's conversation encouraged you, share with a friend who needs a reminder that her best days are not behind her. They are actually waiting for her. And remember, your future self isn't asking you to be perfect. She is simply asking you to keep showing up. Until next time, keep releasing, keep rebalancing, keep reclaiming, keep renewing, and never stop becoming yourself. I'll see you next week.
