Gurumahan’s 9th Velvi Discourse details about the Big Bang Theory - the Supreme One manifesting as the cosmos and the birth of the Universe!

The Universe manifested from the Supreme Source. In the beginning, the Supreme Reality existed as One. This pure, boundless energy known as Suddha Shivam became aware of itself. With the birth of the sense of I, it chose to express.
Just as the world would remain in darkness without the Sun and the Moon, the Universe too existed in complete darkness at the beginning. That is why the Shiva Purana describes the Divine as the Lord who dances in the heart of deep darkness.
Within that darkness, the Supreme energy formed an intention to manifest. That intention created movement. The silent cosmic stillness became dynamic. This first movement took the form of Om, the primordial sound.
As energies met and interacted, a vast radiance emerged. That radiant light is the Sun we see today. From the Sun, energies spread outward like sparks, condensing into atoms. These atoms came together to form stars, planets, the Earth, and the Moon. The one Source became Om, Om became light, and light became the visible Universe.
As atomic heat gradually reduced, water emerged. Water solidified into land. Atomic collisions gave rise to air, friction produced fire, and thus the five elements earth, water, fire, air, and space came into existence.
From these five elements, life first appeared in water. This is why the Vishnu Puranas describe the Dashavatara as stages of cosmic evolution. Life began as aquatic beings, then evolved into forms that lived in both water and land, followed by plants, reptiles, birds, animals, and finally humans.
Today, we exist as human beings. Though we live on Earth, our origin lies beyond the Sun, beyond form, in that one Source. When asked who we are, we cannot yet call ourselves God. For divinity means love, ahimsa (non-violence), patience, calmness, forgiveness, tolerance, letting go, forgetting, and acceptance. These divine qualities must fully exist within us.
