In the 13th Velvi discourse, Gurumahan unfolds the three cosmic functions creation, preservation, and dissolution and shows how they are reflected within us through inhalation, retention, and exhalation, illustrating that the vast macrocosm is mirrored within the human microcosm.

Realizing oneness is true wisdom. Believe that God exists, and understand that He is one. If everything has come from that one source, then all the qualities of the Almighty God are present in everyone. Just as a child carries the qualities of the father, all beings carry the nature of the Supreme, who is like the one father and mother of all. So, whatever qualities exist in the Divine also exist within you. That is why you must express those qualities. What is the purpose of temples? They help lift human beings from animal nature to human nature, and then from human nature to Divine nature. Great saints, sages, yogis, and seers realized this supreme wisdom within themselves. To share it with everyone, they established temple worship methods. In temples, there are three forms of worship: worship of form, formless-form, and formless.
That is why in Thirumoorthi Hills, there are three forms of deities. Whatever exists in the Universe also exists within the human body. Thirumoorthi Hills reflects all aspects of the human body and its nature. Here, there are three deities: one who creates, one who protects, and one who dissolves. Brahma creates, Vishnu protects, and Shiva (Rudra) dissolves. According to yogic science, these three also exist within us. Creation is the inward breath, preservation is the holding of breath, and dissolution is the outward breath.
Inhalation, retention, and exhalation—these are the three processes. When you inhale, you draw in the unseen life energy (prana) that fills the entire Universe. It enters through the nose, goes into the lungs, and then into the blood, refreshing it and purifying it. This is not just oxygen; it is also the creative force that existed from the beginning of the Universe. At the origin, everything existed as a single atom. When it was just one atom, there was no creation. That creative force itself is God.
Different forms appear because of the sustaining force, often called Vishnu energy. The creative force is also known as Kundalini energy. Each atom joins with another, creating attraction. This is called magnetic force or cosmic sound (Nada Brahman). When this energy combines and moves, it creates life force (Jeeva Shakti). When these forces unite, they become prana, the active energy within us, also called Rudra Shakti.
Thus, one energy becomes three—creation, preservation, and dissolution. These three processes also appear in our breathing: inhaling, holding, and exhaling, expressed as Brahma, Vishnu, and Rudra. These exist both outside in the universe and inside us. Just as there are sacred rivers outside, there are also three subtle channels within the human body namely Ida, Pingala, and Sushumna. Like the Ganga flows from the head of Lord Shiva, in humans, a vital center exists in the brain (hypothalamus). When the energy rises from the base of the spine (Muladhara) through the central channel, it becomes a continuous inner flow. When this energy awakens and rises, a person can live a healthy, prosperous, and fulfilled life without shortcomings. Thus, whatever exists in the Universe also exists within the human body.
