In the 19th Velvi discourse, Gurumahan guides the mind through each chakra, revealing the sensory pleasures and attachments linked to every stage, and shows how to rise beyond them so the mind may merge with intellect, awaken discrimination, and attain higher clarity.

O mind, though the body remains in one place, you constantly wander through the world of sight, sound, taste, smell, and touch. You run after the senses, seeking fulfillment outside yourself. But now, turn within. Return to your inner temple. Come back to your own being.
Your true destination is not the changing pleasures of this world, but the eternal Source, the formless reality that existed before creation itself. Return to that silent foundation from which all life arose.
At the Mooladhara, the root center, connected to earth and the sense of smell, the mind clings to survival, attachment, and deep worldly impressions. Rise above these lower instincts. Free yourself from the pull of desire and possessiveness.
At the Swadhisthana, the water center, the mind becomes attached to taste, pleasure, and sensual enjoyment. Do not remain lost in temporary sweetness. Move beyond the pursuit of sensory satisfaction.
At the Manipura, the fire center, the mind is drawn to sight, form, beauty, and appearance. It becomes captivated by what is seen. Rise above outward attractions and seek the higher power beyond visible forms.
At the Anahata, the air center, the mind is bound by touch seeking comfort, avoiding discomfort, reacting to pleasure and pain. But these changing sensations cannot offer permanent peace. Go beyond them.
At the Vishuddhi, the ether center, the mind is influenced by sound praise, blame, approval, and criticism. It suffers through harsh words and rejoices in pleasant ones. Rise above this dependence on external voices and enter the stillness beyond sound.
Having moved through these centers, rise beyond the endless cycle of sensory pleasures. Awaken into discrimination. See clearly what is real and unreal, temporary and eternal, beneficial and harmful. Leave behind mental restlessness and confusion. Enter the state of clarity. When the mind becomes pure and steady, it transforms into wisdom.
Then, O mind, become awareness itself clear in what you see, hear, smell, taste, touch, and think.
When this clarity is complete, you are no longer merely the mind. You become pure knowledge, higher consciousness, and union with the Divine.
