In the 23rd Velvi discourse, Gurumahan reveals how the Universe, consciousness, and the individual are inseparably one, and why true wisdom blossoms only through direct inner experience guided by the Guru.

According to quantum physics, the Universe emerged from an immense primordial energy. But how did that supreme energy arise? It arose through its own intention. This is the very truth proclaimed by all religions: God created the Universe through Divine Will, through Sankalpa. The One alone became everything. It first existed as pure consciousness, then transformed into Divine Light. From that Light emerged the fiery sparks that became the countless atoms forming the entire Universe. These atoms constitute what we call the cosmos. The Tamil word *விண்* (space) itself signifies vibration and pulsation. The Universe continuously vibrates, sustained by the Divine thought that pervades everything as luminous energy. From this Light arise the cosmic vibrations known as the eternal sound of Om. This is why Saivism describes the Lord as performing the Cosmic Dance without ceasing. The moment this Divine pulsation stops, the Universe dissolves back into its primordial state. Just as the cosmos functions through this eternal rhythm, the human body mirrors the same Divine order. The same cosmic movement operates within us. When this movement ceases, the body loses its life and becomes lifeless. Therefore, the very power that fills the entire Universe also resides within us. Whatever we sincerely seek from that Divine Power is granted, provided we possess unwavering faith. We must believe that we share an intimate connection with the Universe, for we ourselves are expressions of that infinite Reality. Just as a loving father gives to his child, the Supreme Power that has become everything responds to those who approach it with trust. There is no need to search for this Divine Power elsewhere. It dwells within every human being. If the One has evolved into everything, then It exists in space, earth, water, fire, air, in the tallest pillar, and even in the smallest blade of grass. It equally fills every living being. The Universe originated from a single atom, driven by its profound yearning. That yearning blossomed into Divine Light, unfolding through countless transformations. But why did the Primordial Source conceive this creation? It did so to know everything, experience everything, and ultimately return to its own original state. Human life beautifully reflects this cosmic process. Every day, during deep sleep, we withdraw beyond bodily awareness and mental activity into profound peace and bliss. Upon waking, we enter the world to learn, experience, and fulfil the purpose of the day. Having completed these experiences, we once again return to stillness. Feeling that there is still more to know and experience, we awaken each day, perform our duties, and finally rest again. What is it that we are truly meant to know and experience? It is That One Reality. Knowing That One is equivalent to knowing everything, and experiencing That One is the fulfilment of all experience. It is for this realization that the Vedas, the Shrutis, the scriptures, the Vedantic teachings, religions, and even the sciences came into existence. Learning these sacred teachings alone is not enough. This is merely the fragrance of knowledge. Just as smelling a fruit cannot satisfy us until we taste it, studying scriptures without experiencing their truth remains incomplete. The purpose of learning is fulfilled only through direct realization. To know knowledge itself, one requires the light of wisdom. To experience that light, one must practise *Karu Thavam* (inner contemplative penance). Without this inner discipline, neither what we have learned nor what we have received can become living experience. Teachers impart the fragrance of knowledge through education. Gurus, however, guide seekers to taste and directly experience that knowledge. Scriptures and philosophies point toward God through intellectual understanding, but only the Guru leads us inward to realize the Supreme Power that already exists within. This is why this sacred place overflows with love, wisdom, power, bliss, grace, and peace. Here, the God whom people have long searched for outside, the Divine Light they visualized with closed eyes, is awakened as a living experience within themselves. Many temples remain silent. Many preachers merely speak about the Divine. But this is a temple that speaks, awakens, and establishes every individual in the realization of their own true Self.
