Fitz Cahall

Fitz Cahall is the creator and host of The Dirtbag Diaries, one of the longest-running adventure podcasts in the world, and co-founder of the creative studio Duct Tape Then Beer. A lifelong storyteller with roots in journalism, Fitz redefined how outdoor narratives are told, giving voice to everyday adventurers alongside elite athletes. His work spans podcasts, films, and essays, blending curiosity, craft, and a deep respect for the natural world. Recently, he authored States of Adventure with DK, a collection of 30 outdoor stories that reflect the many ways a life outside can unfold. From growing up nomadic and overcoming a childhood dog-mauling, to discovering climbing in Seattle and forging a career at the intersection of creativity and adventure, Fitz has championed authenticity over status, community over ego, and storytelling over spectacle. Today, he explores new creative frontiers while balancing mountain days with family life in the Pacific Northwest.
