Daniel Eggington

Daniel Eggington is a British expedition adventurer from the Black Country with a singular focus on the world's most demanding jungle environments. At 17, he booked a one-way flight to Sumatra with no plan and no training, walked seven days into the rainforest with three local guides, and tracked a wild Sumatran tiger to a watering hole just before his 18th birthday. That trip set the trajectory for everything since.

In 2018, Daniel paddled nearly 300km down Guyana's Essequibo River in a handmade dugout canoe with Wapichan guides, navigating piranha-filled waters, illegal gold dredges, and Kanaima folklore. In 2022, after four years of planning and two failed attempts, he crossed the Darien Gap on foot from Colombia to Panama — securing safe passage from the Clan del Golfo, hiding for ten days in a safehouse in Juradó, and walking out alone after being abandoned by his guide on day two.

Next up: a 12-month, source-to-sea expedition along the the Congo River.
