Ray Zahab

 Ray Zahab is a Canadian adventurer, ultra-distance runner, speaker and founder of the non-profit impossible2Possible. A former pack-a-day smoker, he rebuilt his life through endurance sport and went on to run 7,500km across the Sahara in 111 days, a crossing featured in the documentary Running the Sahara. He has covered more than 17,000km across deserts and completed unsupported expeditions in some of the coldest places on Earth. Ray is an Explorer-in-Residence of the Royal Canadian Geographical Society, a Fellow of the Royal Geographical Society, and a recipient of Canada’s Meritorious Service Cross and the Sir Christopher Ondaatje Medal for Exploration
