Craig (00:01.199)
Welcome to the official Munzee Podcast.
Rob Vardeman (00:04.07)
I'm Rob, also known as Coach V, your host and the president of Munzee.
Craig (00:08.203)
And I'm Craig, also known as Seemyshell. I'm here to explore the world of Munzee from within, Rob.
Rob Vardeman (00:14.174)
Each week we'll delve into Munzee's mysteries, discover treasures, and inform players from around the globe just what's coming your way.
Craig (00:21.107)
So sit back, relax today as we chat this week. What's happened this week, Rob? Also something about International Sloth Day and a Munzee Tip of the Week you have for us as well. G'day mate, how you going? Episode two. Ha ha ha.
Rob Vardeman (00:35.358)
G'day! Yes, I'm very excited. It is episode 2. That's super exciting. We had good response from episode 1.
Craig (00:40.261)
Mm-hmm.
Craig (00:43.547)
We did, we did. We've had some good numbers come through as well in regards to it. Just to let everyone know as well, these episodes are 30 minutes long. So make sure you keep in touch with everything. They can be found on any of your podcasting apps. If not, send us a message and we'll try and get it on your podcasting app that you choose. Meanwhile, Rob, what's been happening in your week or weekend, we should say.
Rob Vardeman (01:04.362)
Oh, well, I was, well, you remember Friday was Friday the 13th, we called it Friday the 13th. Well, I was on I was on eggshells all weekend. Yeah. And the good news is that the servers held up. Everything was good. It turned out sunny side up. And I would say that it was an excellent weekend.
Craig (01:10.719)
Mm-hmm. That's right. Oh, here we go. Ha ha ha.
Craig (01:21.905)
Mm-hmm.
Peace.
Oh, Rob, well, you know what? The servers weren't scrambled. Everything went over easy, let's just say. And I'm gonna cross my fingers for this weekend as well and hope nothing cracks. How's that? There you go, there's your comeback for you. Ha ha ha.
Rob Vardeman (01:39.506)
Hey, I love it. I love it. That is great. Maybe now we can move on from egg puns because today is a really cool day. Like you said, it's International Sloth Day. But we don't have to talk really slow. It turns out I actually already talk slow because I'm from Texas and I got that like slow easy going. So anyway, moving on from the egg jokes.
Craig (01:45.829)
Yeah.
It is.
It is.
Craig (01:57.223)
Hehehe
Hehehe
Craig (02:04.975)
Yes, yes, well, I've got to slow myself down because from Australia, we talk a bit quicker than the average American. So I too have to slow myself down. Rob, over the week though, I must say, again, forgive the egg jokes, this is not an egg joke related, but.
I actually found more stuff on the Redeem page that you guys secretly put there without even advertising. I found some on Friday and then I found more this week as well. So you know what I'm gonna do? I'm looking at the Redeem page every single day on my computer when I'm at work or whatever else as well. So yeah, so that's my tip. That's my tip. Ha ha ha.
Rob Vardeman (02:40.139)
I'm kinda in charge of that page, so I like to change things up. I like fun, I like for things to be different. So yeah, good idea to check it out every day.
Craig (02:43.01)
Oh.
Craig (02:50.325)
Exactly, exactly. So the activity though this week, Rob, that we've had over the past week, we've had, let's talk about some of the events first. We had a mega in the Netherlands. There was 43 attendants of that. That's pretty cool. We had the national, is it dessert or desert? I can't, I never, dessert, I think it's a national dessert in Illinois. What about in Minnesota? What was the ones in Minnesota that we had? What were they called? I know.
Rob Vardeman (03:04.722)
I think it's dessert, yeah.
Rob Vardeman (03:11.382)
Oh man, we were both jealous to not be at the one in Minnesota as well because there were a couple of YouTube videos that were made from it, so that was nice. Um, it was a zombie costume party.
Craig (03:18.116)
Mm-hmm. Yeah.
That's right, that's right. And it was Munzee Events on YouTube. That's actually their name and that's Bob. And Minnesota Boy, also known as Tim, they've got YouTube videos on their event as well. And of course, as everything we talk about, links are in the show notes, as I said before. But other events we had, we had in Pennsylvania, Massachusetts, North and South Carolina, Missouri, Iowa, over in Devon, UK, near you're where you are.
Rob Vardeman (03:28.045)
Okay?
Rob Vardeman (03:47.81)
Hmm? Yeah?
Craig (03:48.865)
BC in Ontario in Canada, Victoria in Australia, Denmark and Finland. So we had events all over the world. That's pretty cool.
Rob Vardeman (03:57.118)
It's amazing. I love to see how many events and we actually saw a lot of really good interaction from those specific mega events that were in Rotterdam in the Netherlands. Saw a lot of pictures that came up in the Munzee water cooler and just a lot of people having a great time.
Craig (04:08.053)
Mm-hmm.
Craig (04:16.131)
Yeah, and some big points, some big numbers. Shall we say the numbers? We can say numbers, surely. Yes. Yeah.
Rob Vardeman (04:21.106)
I think we can. On Friday, the leaderboard, the number one, had almost 1.7 million points and that's Regal. Vani was close with 1.6 million and then it was another million lower to get to third place. So that's two. They were in the...
Craig (04:27.616)
Mm-hmm. Nice.
Craig (04:34.355)
Mm-hmm.
Craig (04:40.98)
Wow, so those two really stood out. Wow.
Rob Vardeman (04:45.886)
in the Netherlands, like at the event. So it's helpful if you're at the events, if you're capping the cards, but you can also put those cards out, get the cap on points, it's all good. Saturday, you tell us about Saturday.
Craig (04:47.021)
Mm-hmm. Yep.
Craig (04:56.479)
Exactly. Saturday, there was more and more and more points because obviously Saturday is the day that they actually had the mega event per se. But I'm gonna really butcher these names. Bart Williams, almost 2.3 million. And then special mentions goes to Maria HDJ, Rage, Reg, Swash. You've loaded me up with this one.
Rob Vardeman (05:22.25)
I did! You did this to me last week. I can't believe it.
Craig (05:26.171)
Sombiro, Pito, Norby97 and Tossie. They all cracked the one million mark. And I'm sorry if I got your name totally wrong, but I'm Australian. This is true. Ridge.
Rob Vardeman (05:34.402)
Hey, what are you gonna do? You did that to me last week, I did it to you. Riege, Riege is one of them, I can tell you, and I assume that that's how he says his name. Nice guy, I've met him. And Zambor Peto is also a nice guy. He's from Hungary. Yeah, so, yeah.
Craig (05:48.491)
Zombo pitta. Oh, there you go. There you go. Nice.
Rob Vardeman (05:50.506)
I've met quite a few of them, which is always fun to see those people show up on the leaderboard, but yeah, again, they had a great time. And then Sunday it switched up. It's actually not someone that was at the events in the Netherlands. It was the Mock Man. Do you know the Mock Man? He had a million points. He's actually Australian.
Craig (05:53.501)
Mm-hmm.
Craig (06:04.135)
The Mach Man. No, I don't know the Mach Man.
Oh, there you go. Probably, I dare say, from actually all the cards, possibly. Maybe.
Rob Vardeman (06:10.922)
Yeah!
Uh, yeah, maybe, but I think that he's actually been here in England playing, so I'm not sure if he hit some special pocket in order to get a million points on the Sunday, but yeah, good for him.
Craig (06:19.758)
Uh...
Craig (06:24.467)
Mm-hmm, mm-hmm. Exactly, exactly. But we have a current mega, as we speak now, there's an event today in Charleston, South Carolina, and then obviously over the next three days. So there's four events over the next three days in South Carolina. And who's gonna be there, Rob? None other than Space Coast. Yes, Rob, Rob. Dale and Barb. Mm-hmm, mm.
Rob Vardeman (06:41.002)
Wells, the Space Coast GO store, yeah, very exciting. Dale and Barb are gonna be there and you know what? It would be really nice if everybody said a little special something to Barb because tomorrow is her birthday. So yeah, Saturday, the 21st is her birthday. And I think it's her 21st birthday, so that's cool.
Craig (06:58.499)
Oh really on a Saturday? Yes!
Happy birthday, Barb.
Craig (07:07.747)
Yeah, it would be a 21st again, I dare say. Anyway. Yeah. Mm-hmm.
Rob Vardeman (07:09.862)
Yes, anniversary. So yes, if you want to check out all of the events, then you can go to calendar.munzee.com. That's the event page so that you can see if there are events happening around you. It's also in the app.
Craig (07:17.303)
Mm-hmm.
Craig (07:24.523)
Is it? I didn't see, I'm learning things every day. I'm gonna have to look at the app. That could be a tip of the week. I do recall it may be being in the app, but I don't look at it in the app because the app shows you just your closest ones to you. I like to see all everything. I like to see everything. I'm not all about it. But before we move on to what's happening in the world of Munzee this week, a quick shout out to the water cooler on Facebook because they are a thrive of information out there as well.
Rob Vardeman (07:25.278)
Yes. Oh, maybe that'll be a tip of the week one day coming soon.
Rob Vardeman (07:37.69)
Mm. That's true.
Good point.
Craig (07:52.319)
Garden Builders on Facebook. And of course all these links are in the description as well. And also a special mention to the Munzey Maniacs podcast again, with those three guys. They're back at it again, I saw. They had another episode which is cool that came out. That was really nice.
Rob Vardeman (08:00.695)
Yeah.
Rob Vardeman (08:07.798)
Yeah, I checked in with Kevin just to make sure that he understood, hey, we're not competition. Remember, we're just here putting some stuff out like you have said for, I believe it's been more than 60 episodes. They've said, we want more content, somebody else out there do it. And yeah, I guess that was a challenge to us. Here we are.
Craig (08:12.591)
No.
Craig (08:22.504)
Yeah.
This is us reading the blog basically. That's all.
Rob Vardeman (08:28.81)
Uh, yeah, but you know, some people don't read the blog, so they need someone to read it to them, and so let me kick it off by telling you about the first thing that's kind of exciting that's happened this week. Ready? It's the great pumpkin, see my shell? Are you familiar with, are you familiar with It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown? No?
Craig (08:33.447)
This is true.
Yep.
Craig (08:41.555)
Here we go.
Craig (08:45.494)
What?
Craig (08:49.956)
No, no, is that an English thing? Is that a Merit American thing. Well, there you go. Yeah. Yeah, of course. Yeah
Rob Vardeman (08:52.402)
No, it's an American thing. You know, you know Charlie Brown, the cartoon, right? Okay, right. So the best Halloween show to watch every year is It's a Great Pumpkin. It's the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown. It's a great show. Anyway, they dress up in costumes. They have a great time. Yeah, old show. Love it. Um, yeah, watch it every year.
Craig (09:05.836)
Oh, there you go.
Mm-hmm.
So what's gonna happen then with this great pumpkin? It's a new evolution, did you say? Oh wow.
Rob Vardeman (09:17.482)
It is. It's a new pumpkin evolution credit that's going out. And actually, I've said credit, it's a virtual. What am I thinking? So it's a virtual that has joined the farm evolution set. We put that out yesterday. And it's going to be similar to the bee, the turtle, the jellyfish. It's one of those that you deploy. And then there are a number of days where it evolves across different stages.
Craig (09:22.309)
Mm-hmm.
Craig (09:28.13)
Hahaha
Craig (09:32.485)
Mm-hmm.
Craig (09:38.565)
Mm-hmm.
Rob Vardeman (09:46.262)
This one is a five stage Evo and it sends out a bouncer. Yeah, so there are three different bouncers that come out. So I'm not sure if you've ever seen the Bs, but the B sends out a B, there's like a queen B, but there's also a very special one that is a smaller chance to get and it is the Walla B.
Craig (09:52.603)
Oh. Oh!
Craig (10:01.262)
Mm-hmm.
Craig (10:09.139)
Oh, yes I have and I have got the Wallaby as well. There you go. I was wondering about that. That's cool.
Rob Vardeman (10:12.886)
So, yeah, so we're doing the same thing with the pumpkin. The pumpkin's got three different bouncers and one of them with a smaller chance. It would take forever if we actually read all the information to you, so just go and check out the blog because it's got all the fine details.
Craig (10:19.899)
Mm-hmm.
Craig (10:26.531)
Yeah. Yep. All the fine details. But other than that, like that's a good information. Basically, as we said before, Rob, if you see it, just cap it like that's, that's it. That's it. Exactly. And some big. Yeah, I should cap it and see what happens.
Rob Vardeman (10:37.386)
Absolutely, absolutely. Something new, I'm not sure what that is, you know, oh I should cap it, yes. Because the first stage of the pumpkin is seeds, so it makes sense that you would need those.
Craig (10:48.879)
Of course, it makes sense. Like the peas, the peas I think were seeds as well of some sort, yeah. See, my memory, I see, I am learning in this bunsy stuff, Rob, I'm telling you now. Ha ha ha.
Rob Vardeman (10:52.562)
Yes. Yep, absolutely.
Rob Vardeman (10:57.45)
It's a good thing. So the next thing that actually came out as information with the pumpkin EVOs is that we have gone back and we've changed something that has been in place for a couple of years now, and that's in relation to the daily activity. So a while back, we had to determine what was active deploys and what was passive deploys.
Craig (11:04.712)
Mm-hmm.
Craig (11:11.397)
Mm-hmm.
Craig (11:20.263)
Mm-hmm.
Rob Vardeman (11:20.522)
we said that the passive deploys were those fifth stage bouncers, so that they didn't count for an actual deploy on your activity streaks. Well, I've chatted with a few players, Ohail and Humbert7 in particular, shout out to them, since Humbert7 is our number one player in the world, queen of Munzee, and they made it clear that they really, really enjoyed when those counted, and they also explained why those are active deploys.
Craig (11:35.251)
Mm-hmm. Ha ha.
Craig (11:39.524)
Mm-hmm.
Rob Vardeman (11:49.558)
because you have to physically go in and you have to use an Evo reset credit on a specific day in order to trigger like 30 days in advance or in the future that be to evolve and become a bouncer. Or for this one, it's 75 days for a pumpkin. So you're thinking 75 days out if you've got pumpkin evos that you want to be bouncing on Halloween.
Craig (11:55.717)
Mm-hmm.
Craig (12:02.824)
Mm-hmm.
Right.
Craig (12:11.063)
Oh wow.
Rob Vardeman (12:17.526)
Back it up 75 days, make sure you deploy then. Next year.
Craig (12:20.779)
Oh geez, see, this is level upon level upon level, this game, I tell you, like this is nuts, this is insane. It's really getting my juices flowing though in regards to my OCD stuff, so I'm gonna have to find my own Munzee calendar. I'm gonna create me own Munzee calendar, so.
Rob Vardeman (12:24.802)
Ha ha.
Rob Vardeman (12:28.928)
Yes.
Rob Vardeman (12:36.966)
There are people who have those types of things. Go to the Munzee water cooler, ask the question. People will set you up with trackers, absolutely. Who knows, maybe even Sam will put one in a cup of tea.
Craig (12:42.424)
Yeah.
Craig (12:49.391)
I was gonna say that's my next best thing is, is this Cuppa Z like with Sam, that is brilliant. I was on there again this morning on Cuppa Z. I check Cuppa Z every single day. I'll probably check it just under the amount that I actually log onto Munzee just saying. So I'm a Munzee, I'm a Munzee opener, probably about three or four, no, probably four or five now because of the resets with the, I always get them wrong, tree houses and the Skylands because they reset. So I'm more active now on the-
Rob Vardeman (13:04.144)
I'm
Rob Vardeman (13:12.723)
Oh right, Skyland, yeah.
Craig (13:17.135)
at least twice, maybe four or five times a day now on it. So there you go. Anyway, what else is happening?
Rob Vardeman (13:20.598)
Well, good to know. So yesterday we also put out the final ingredients for the Witch's Potions mob set. So how have you done with any of the badges?
Craig (13:28.919)
Oh, mm-hmm, mm-hmm. These have been a little difficult for me, Rob. But I'll let you know now, and I'm a player. I'm a big player, don't tell my wife that, but I'm a player. So I like to magnetize, I've magnetized, I've got a local virtual right near my house that I always magnetize.
It's got like my 200 caps on it now already in the last sort of six months. And also physicals, because you do differentiate between the physicals and the virtual game. And yeah, I haven't actually like got on more yet. So I'll be working hard though, because this ends soon, doesn't it? It ends in November.
Rob Vardeman (14:06.982)
It does, it ends the early part of November. I don't remember the actual date, but it is coming soon. You and I are in the same boat. I've got quite a few cauldrons. I have a couple of the other ingredients, but I do not have enough to make any of the badges. The Friday the 13th one in particular was a difficult badge. I heard that and read that quite a bit. So something that I was thinking about there is maybe
Craig (14:09.785)
Mm-hmm.
Craig (14:16.809)
Yeah.
Yeah. No.
Craig (14:25.179)
Mm-hmm. Yeah, yeah. Ha ha ha.
Craig (14:33.37)
Mm-hmm.
Rob Vardeman (14:35.694)
Kind of like Jason comes back over and over and over through lots of the different movies. Who knows if maybe his ingredients come back on or around Halloween.
Craig (14:40.127)
Of course. Yeah.
Craig (14:47.983)
You heard it here folks, you heard it right here first, even before me or as I'm listening to it. Yeah, yeah, exactly, exactly. This is all just coming from Rob the President, not the whole entire company. Anyway. Yeah.
Rob Vardeman (14:52.906)
Conspiracy theories, if anything. Don't forget. Yes.
Rob Vardeman (15:02.018)
Ah, right. Yes. Or rob the player and not even rob the president, who knows? I want badges too.
Craig (15:05.823)
Exactly, Rob More the Player than anything else. Exactly, exactly. I've got a few of those rose petals as well. I've got a few of those as well as the cauldrons. They're my two biggest ones that I actually have. Yeah, yeah, yeah. But meanwhile, Rob, as well, we have, right now, as this goes live, we have double points again this weekend, Friday, Saturday, Sunday, October 20th, 22nd. They are on cards, flats, temporary virtuals.
Rob Vardeman (15:15.075)
Alright.
Craig (15:29.567)
greenies and rums as well. So that's perfect for this weekend's events. So that's really cool.
Rob Vardeman (15:35.886)
Absolutely. Looking forward to it. Today, like we said earlier, is International Sloth Day. Sorry, had to roll it that slow. So here's the thing about Sloth Day. Let's go back in history just a touch, alright? Last year, I believe it was last summer even, or even before summer, I met the Sloth Girl. So she's a player here in England.
Craig (15:41.244)
Mm-hmm. Oh.
Craig (15:48.926)
I heard that.
Craig (15:52.765)
Mm-hmm.
Okay.
Craig (15:59.719)
Mm-hmm.
Craig (16:04.829)
Mm-hmm.
Rob Vardeman (16:04.93)
and met her at an event, talked with her, talked with her family. I mean, she's, she's a kid. And so she explained to me why her name is the sloth girl. She loves sloths like big time, unbelievable amounts. She has all the information tucked away in her head about sloths. Her goal in life is to grow up and work with sloths. Imagine that. So her, her
Craig (16:18.117)
Mm-hmm.
Craig (16:26.088)
Mm-hmm.
Craig (16:30.104)
Now there you go, imagine that.
Rob Vardeman (16:32.946)
her username isn't just some cutesy thing, you know, where she made it up. No, she is literally the Sloth Girl. So I talked with the Sloth Girl, and she was like, oh man, you know, it'd be really cool if there was a bouncer, and International Sloth Day is on the, what, the 20th of October, and I was like, oh, that's plenty of time. It was maybe four, five, six months. I was like, yeah, that's plenty of time. We'll do something for Sloth Day. Well, on Sloth Day, she sent a message saying, hey.
Craig (16:36.028)
Mm-hmm.
Craig (16:47.801)
Yeah.
Craig (16:51.614)
Mm-hmm.
Rob Vardeman (17:02.582)
Where's the sloth stuff? It's sloth day. And I was like, oh no! You see the problem is, I was moving at sloth speed. So, we have actually done some stuff this year, because I've felt bad for one entire year. So, there are quite a few things. Actually, this month we launched, earlier in the month, the sloth garden hedge, which people earned for activity back in September.
Craig (17:04.115)
Hehehehehehe
Craig (17:10.637)
Oh, yes. Yes.
Craig (17:15.185)
Wow.
Craig (17:19.464)
Mm-hmm.
Craig (17:27.556)
Mm-hmm. Yeah, yeah.
Rob Vardeman (17:31.87)
So that was good. The sloth girl did earn it. Well done. Congratulations. Yeah. Today, we're putting out a new daily badge. And you know what the daily badges are? The kind where they're secret. And someone has to figure out the recipe, right? So there's a new one. And we'll see if the sloth girl moves at sloth pace, and she's last, or.
Craig (17:36.009)
Well done.
Craig (17:42.323)
Really?
Craig (17:48.331)
Oh yes. Figure it out.
Craig (17:59.486)
Mm-hmm.
Rob Vardeman (17:59.85)
You know, who can race their way to find the first one? It is a race, I can tell you that much. So.
Craig (18:04.093)
Yeah.
Yep, yep. I wonder, I wonder if one of them is to cap, there's no POI's there for DMVs because the DMV reminds me of the sloth as well all the time, so is there a DMV POI that you have to cap? I don't know. Ha ha ha.
Rob Vardeman (18:19.75)
It's actually like you're a part of our gameplay meetings. No joke. That's so funny. We had a conversation about what should we include in this, and someone said, too bad we don't have a DMV. Maybe we should put out a new DMV, Department of Motor Vehicles, for those of you not in America. Yeah, exactly. So.
Craig (18:25.081)
Really?
Craig (18:31.785)
Yeah.
Craig (18:40.231)
vehicles.
Everyone hears it from the movies, so...
Rob Vardeman (18:46.79)
the slowest people and you see it in all the American movies, the slowest place on earth is that. So funny. You nailed it. We actually did talk about that.
Craig (18:52.937)
Yeah.
Craig (18:58.344)
And just to let everyone know, all listeners know as well, these are not on the show notes. This is just me talking randomly my ideas in my head. I've not been in any meetings with anyone else apart from Rob and they're not on the show notes. So there you go.
Rob Vardeman (19:09.522)
No, I hope people could hear in my voice, you know, the difference between when I might be reading something and when that's like authentic real reaction because that is what that was. My face lit up when you said DMV and I couldn't wait to say no, we thought about it. No, so that's not one of them. However, people who, you know, look at the Munzee Types page and they get creative and they start thinking like, hmm, what else might fit in with the sloth?
Craig (19:12.775)
Hehehehehehe
Mm-hmm.
Craig (19:27.652)
Oh
Rob Vardeman (19:39.482)
can at least start figuring out one or two of the components that we have out there. So that's good. There's something else special that we're doing, and we're doing this only for the Sloth Girl. Yes, she is getting the number one Sloth Cubimole. We're going to launch that on her account because we have put the Sloth Cubimole live as well.
Craig (19:44.307)
Mm-hmm.
Craig (19:52.073)
Really?
Mm.
Craig (20:00.265)
Oh.
Rob Vardeman (20:09.13)
That's right, today those are live so you also can launch a sloth on the map in cubable form. And yeah, that is our celebration of International Sloth Day this year with my apologies to the sloth girl and her family and everyone else who was live in person that day whenever I said oh yeah absolutely. Unfortunately I say that a lot and then I forget to tell the rest of the team until it's either too late or well yeah it's too late.
Craig (20:09.245)
Mm-hmm.
Craig (20:15.195)
Wow. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Craig (20:23.343)
Hehehehehehe
Craig (20:36.571)
Mm-hmm. Yeah, great. There you go, you heard it here first. And you call them cubimals. So I looked at, when I first started Mungie, I think I said cub-mul, something like cub-mul. Yeah, cubimals. Cubimals, that's the way you actually pronounce it. Mm-hmm. Well, you the creators, so that's how it's, what it is.
Rob Vardeman (20:43.904)
Yes.
Rob Vardeman (20:51.035)
That's how we pronounce it and you know it was from a different game called Glitch or something like that Robbie on our team played it and this game went away but they left all of their resources out there for people to pick them up and use them for other things so yeah so we picked those up and we call them cubimals because the shape is a cube.
Craig (20:59.811)
Right. Yep.
Craig (21:10.001)
Oh nice, nice.
Craig (21:16.495)
A cube, that's right, exactly, it makes sense, makes sense. And I will say this as well, and again, this happened if you weren't aware, there's a lot of talk on the water cooler going back a few months now about these cubimals. And everyone's saying, you know, oh yeah, I open up my crates and I do my crates and I get a cubimal, whoop-de-doo, I've got 15 cubimals, I've got 12 of these, I've got 10 of these and blah, blah. And they were, oh, what am I gonna do? You guys then listen to your players as you do, and all of a sudden now you...
you got that little bouncer cubicle that goes around, which I've collected quite a few. Thank you very much for those, but yeah. Really, really cool. And again, so what I'm saying this for is because I saw Rob this morning, someone again on the water cooler said about the golden carrots. Why do they have to be physical, the golden carrots? Guys, just hear me out here. I know, I just saw it in Rob's eyes. He hasn't said a word to me. I don't know anything about it. I am a player more than anything else as well.
Rob Vardeman (21:47.682)
Yeah, you're welcome.
Rob Vardeman (22:02.55)
Hehehe
Craig (22:08.023)
I saw the glint in his eyes when I said those golden carrot. It was a golden glint in his eye when I say this. And that is something is coming. So keep him, keep putting him out. If you're obviously a premium member, keep putting him out. Don't worry about it. You're not capping him. No one's capping him. Oh, no one's capping my, my god. Doesn't matter because it's gonna happen. Something's gonna happen with him just like the cubimals did as well. So keep that in mind. So.
Rob Vardeman (22:31.566)
people might forget that it actually takes us a little bit of time to code things. And well, we've kind of been under the weather, we'll call it, and working on quite a few other things. The gameplay, mm-hmm, the gameplay team is not a top priority at the moment, like getting all of our stuff built. So because of that, yeah, but you're right, that was another moment of a genuine reaction that was coming out, but you said it first, so that's good.
Craig (22:35.475)
Hahahaha
Craig (22:40.2)
Yeah, yeah, you've had a bit of a flu.
Craig (22:48.683)
No. Exactly, exactly.
Craig (22:54.939)
Hehehehehehehehehehe
Yeah, there you go.
Rob Vardeman (23:00.49)
Um, yeah, very, very exciting things in the future. And I'll just leave it at that because it's not just the golden carrot. There's so much.
Craig (23:08.611)
It's so funny. It's so much fun. But it's so funny, Rob, talking to you on this podcast, I can see you face to face as we record this, which is pretty cool, thanks to the internet. But watching Rob's face and watching him hold back his words is next level. That's one thing I love about recording these podcasts, Rob, is that, yeah, I watch you squirm inside and just say, oh, I can't say that yet. No, not yet, not yet, not yet. Hold that back, hold that back. So that's the best part. That's the best part.
Rob Vardeman (23:18.804)
Yeah.
Rob Vardeman (23:35.438)
Yeah, absolutely. I've put out a lot of the information that we can put out right now. And each week, if you tune in, you'll find out not only what's going on that week, but you can also get a few glimpses into the future because I do like to lay little carrots out there for people, not just golden ones, but like to put, yeah.
Craig (23:39.419)
Mm-hmm.
Craig (23:48.029)
Mm-hmm.
Craig (23:51.371)
Exactly. Yeah, no, all different types.
Rob Vardeman (23:57.718)
put things out there for people. And we used to do that old times on the Munzee Podcast, you know, the video cast, when people had to look at our faces. And now I'm happy to be able to share some information in advance. This is honestly where you will hear it first because I certainly can't write that stuff. So I have to say it and then I have to follow up with actions.
Craig (24:01.407)
Mmm. Yeah, the video cast. Yeah.
Craig (24:12.677)
Mm-hmm.
Craig (24:16.243)
Yeah. No.
Exactly, exactly. Now, speaking of where you hear things first, Rob, let's end this podcast with the Munzee Tip of the Week. What have you got for us this week?
Rob Vardeman (24:29.75)
Well, let's see, this week we would like for you to help us out, help us help you. When you are sending in a support ticket, we'd love for you to do one thing first. If it's possible, use the app, because in the app, when you tap on the burger menu, we call it in the top left corner.
Craig (24:35.228)
Hahaha
Craig (24:41.937)
Mm-hmm.
Craig (24:50.295)
Yeah, yeah, hamburger menu. That's the three, for those who don't know, hamburger menu is the three lines in the top corner. Sometimes there's a cog and sometimes there's a three lines and that's called a hamburger menu. There you go.
Rob Vardeman (24:59.454)
Yes, it looks like a bun and a piece of meat and a bun or veggie in the middle, whatever. So yes, so you push that button, then you go to support and then when you click contact support, what it does is it actually transports you to your email and in your email, it auto-populates four fields of information that help us solve your tickets faster. So that's like your user ID, it's a number.
Craig (25:02.291)
That's right. That's right.
Craig (25:07.763)
Mm-hmm.
Craig (25:22.994)
Mm-hmm.
Rob Vardeman (25:25.022)
So we use that number on the back end to find you and to look into your account. It gives us what type of phone you're using, what your OS is. It tells us quite a few pieces of information and that just speeds the process up for us so that we can say, oh, I see you're on an iPhone. Yes, this is an issue with the iPhone or, you know, we don't have to ask you about those things. So
Craig (25:41.564)
Mm-hmm.
Craig (25:45.731)
Yeah, that makes sense. I've had it before again as well. We said it last week in regards to the apps as well. So that you can basically say, yeah, look at this. I know you're on an older iPhone or older app itself. Update the app through the app store and then this will rectify. So yeah, perfect, perfect.
Rob Vardeman (26:03.354)
I see you're still on iOS 12. Turns out we're on iOS 17 now, so maybe that's, yeah, anyway, you're using a device that's seven years old. That sort of thing is, well, it's a helpful step for us. Next off, if you're going to send an email to support at munzee.com from outside the app, then it would be really helpful if you would always tell us your player name.
Craig (26:05.883)
Heheheheheheh
Craig (26:11.659)
Yeah.
Craig (26:16.733)
Exactly.
Craig (26:24.797)
Mm-hmm.
Rob Vardeman (26:28.534)
that piece of information first. We don't need to know your first name. It's fine if you tell us that, but we need to know your player name. We need to know details about whatever you're writing in about. As many details as possible. That doesn't mean six paragraphs. That means tell us what issue. If you are able to, take a screenshot.
Craig (26:28.776)
Mm-hmm.
Rob Vardeman (26:47.274)
because if we can see it, then we can believe it, and then we can look into it faster and help you out. If you're talking about a specific Munzee that something is going on with, like let's say you magnetized it, it only got two bouncers, whatever.
Craig (26:53.389)
Yeah.
Craig (26:58.365)
Mm-hmm.
Craig (27:02.202)
Yeah.
Rob Vardeman (27:03.206)
If you share with us the link from the website, the URL, that allows us as well just to go in and check that Munzee specifically instead of just randomly looking at everything you've captured forever. And finally, what's included if you tap on it in the app is the type of phone that you use and the OS version if you know it. So if you're gonna send in a separate email, we're going to end up asking you for that information anyway, so you might as well just do it through the app.
Craig (27:07.433)
Mm-hmm.
Craig (27:15.228)
Mm-hmm.
Craig (27:29.391)
Yeah. Fair enough, fair enough. So just to recap as well, player name number one, details of the incident number two, screenshots number three, links to the specific Munzee you're talking about, and then the type of phone that you're using to do your capping. That's it. Those five things is what predominantly you guys need in order to get your support tickets done pretty quickly. That's nice. Thank you, Rob. Yes, yes.
Rob Vardeman (27:46.26)
Mm-hmm.
Rob Vardeman (27:53.994)
Yes, oh, one more thing. If you're sending in a support ticket about a specific order from the store, guess what would be helpful there? Your order number. The most common quick response that we have is, what is your order number? Because if you don't send that in, we have no idea.
Craig (28:00.147)
Mm-hmm. That's true. That's true.
Craig (28:10.547)
Mm-hmm. And going on orders too, you just reminded me, going on orders too, if you order from a rum, a reseller, don't forget you need to put your name, your player name in those special directions. That's the only way that they're gonna know who purchased what. So player name in those specific directions. Dale is gonna love me for that, just saying. Ha ha ha.
Rob Vardeman (28:30.634)
I was just about to say, Dale and Barb, listen to this podcast. Thank you very much. And they are really going to love you for that.
Craig (28:34.451)
They do.
Craig (28:39.383)
They're great supporters of Munzee in all shapes and forms. So Rob, this ends our second official Munzee podcast for the season, the second one done.
Rob Vardeman (28:47.934)
Well, that was great. It was a lot of fun. And thanks to all of you for joining us on this Munzee adventure.
Craig (28:50.215)
Yeah.
Craig (28:54.471)
Don't forget to subscribe, rate and review on your favorite podcasting app and join us next week for another exciting episode.
Rob Vardeman (29:00.902)
And remember, Munzee is more than a game, it's a worldwide community of explorers.
Craig (29:05.447)
So keep scanning, keep discovering, and keep the Munzee spirit of live. Ready Rob, one, two, three, Munzee on. Again, again, we're gonna get it right one time, surely.
Rob Vardeman (29:10.579)
Munzee on!
So close.
