Craig (00:00.051)
Welcome to the official Munzee Podcast.

Rob (00:03.187)
I'm Rob, also known as Coach V, your host and the president of Munzee.

Craig (00:07.827)
It's not early there, is it? I'm Craig, also known as Seemyshell. I started as an avid Munzee player, now proudly part of the team.

Rob (00:14.102)
Each week we'll be excited to delve into Munzee's mysteries, divulge some secrets, and inform players from around the world just what is coming your way.

Craig (00:16.659)
You

Craig (00:22.355)
So sit back, relax as we chat about some videos today, some events and the pack rats as well. Uh, and some extra bonuses for the month of February, Rob. So buddy, buddy, buddy, I can see you're excited. And obviously, you know, cause it's like midday there for you. It's like 8 AM for me. So there's a difference.

Rob (00:39.53)
Yeah, it's the time difference and just I've been doing stuff and you know, got on my bike and did a couple things and just you know, it's been like, let's go and now it's podcast time and I guess that energy just overflowed. Plus, I'm really excited to hear what you have been up to. So kick it off what you've been up to.

Craig (00:43.123)
Yeah.

Craig (00:52.967)
Ha ha ha.

Craig (01:00.467)
well, my last weekend, my very, first ever, Mardi Gras ball. Yes, Mardi Gras ball here in Mobile, Alabama, which is the home of Mardi Gras as well. got dressed, Rob, I got dressed up. had to wear a white tie, black tails, Rob. Like I look really fancy like, I know. All the ladies had to wear their long dress and pass. The dress had to touch the ground as well. They've got rules, Rob. Yeah, rules for the Mardi Gras ball.

Rob (01:27.106)
What?

Craig (01:30.159)
It was huge. It was phenomenal. The colors, the dancing, the whole lot. was fantastic. I loved every minute of it. Yeah, so the guests, we call them, which is what I was. I was a guest. You we had to wear that. But the committee members of all the floats, et cetera, they were there and they were dressed up in all their satin regal, like all the different colors of purples and the greens and the golds and the, you know, all the different colors and the headdresses and the masks and stuff.

Rob (01:37.506)
Wow.

Rob (01:42.413)
Yes.

Craig (01:59.121)
And they walk their ladies down the aisles and stuff as well. then they produce a queen of Mardi Gras. So it was the, it was the crew of Columbus, the crew of Columbus Mardi Gras ball. So, yeah.

Rob (02:11.67)
Okay. I, I, I am familiar vaguely with crew of Columbus. So you, I think that there may be some people out there who like me, we're kind of like, what in particular with one line, the beginning of what you said, and that is that mobile Alabama is the home of Mardi Gras. Please explain that quickly. Cause what is all I think. Okay.

Craig (02:17.746)
Mm-hmm.

Craig (02:21.661)
Yeah.

Mm-hmm.

Yes.

Craig (02:35.293)
Correct. So.

Anyone can Google this. It's very easy. Mobile Alabama is the official birthplace of Mardi Gras in the United States, hosting the nation's oldest organized carnival celebrations since 1703. The city features weeks of parades, mass balls and unique traditions like Joe Kane day. Joe Kane was the person who invented Mardi Gras. Joe Kane invented Mardi Gras in Mobile, Alabama. Not, not Louisiana here. Not, you know.

Rob (03:07.694)
You

Craig (03:08.721)
that that sort of Mardi Gras this Mardi Gras is is from Mobile the home at birthplace and an actual fact in Mobile there's like adventure labs as well and lots of things that takes you around to Joe Kane's house where he grew up and his school and you know and there's a big statue of Joe Kane in the inside there's also he's he's what he called his grave is there as well which has to be locked right so the whole the whole cemetery has to be locked for two weeks before and after Mardi Gras time because

Rob (03:10.381)
Yeah.

Craig (03:38.589)
There's just beads galore just thrown all over him as well. yeah, so it's beads everywhere. So there you go, Mobile, Alabama.

Rob (03:41.706)
Oh, right. Wow. Well, every day, every day is a school day. I'm glad that you got to experience the oldest American Mardi Gras tradition that I mean, like, wow, that's, that's cool. A southern bell ball is what that sounded like to me just the explanation. So hey, that's cool. I'm assuming you kept some Munsies around there and that way it ties into Munsie as well.

Craig (03:52.339)
Yeah.

Craig (04:01.083)
Yeah.

Craig (04:07.938)
Absolutely always. You know me Rob, I always cap Munsies wherever I go. Except Rob. Except, I mean, this isn't on the show notes. Except when I'm told not to cap any Munsies from a certain president of Munsy because a certain president of Munsy didn't take us off the leaderboard for the Clan Wars.

Rob (04:18.296)
hahahaha

Rob (04:26.08)
What are you talking about that? I suppose I was going to not talk about what I've been up to for Munzee for the last week because that's been the main thing trying to keep the scone club from coming in third place on the clan leaderboard. We did well. We did well to hit the brakes and stay in fourth. Yeah.

Craig (04:30.892)
You

Craig (04:44.005)
Wow. Yeah. Oh, I will say, Rob, I'm telling you now I actually struggled. I really did struggle to not open up the app as I, uh, you know, travel around, um, sort of lower Alabama area. Rob, did some traveling too on, on that day that you said me, uh, you, allowed me to cap one thing. You said cap one to keep your streak and deploy one to keep your streak. And then that's it. was like,

Rob (05:04.206)
True.

Craig (05:10.404)
I, you would not believe Rob how it actually, I got an itch and I couldn't scratch that itch by actually having the app open and, utilizing vac and all that sort of stuff, which I love to do. And you killed me Rob for that whole, that whole day killed.

Rob (05:19.598)
Mm-hmm.

Rob (05:25.11)
Yeah, well, it's all all for the players, isn't it? That's why we cap. That's why we don't cap. how can I say?

Craig (05:28.114)
Exactly. Anyway, Rob, let's get onto the events from last week. There was two in Yuma, Arizona. I got good feedback from this one too. They had some great time in Yuma, Arizona too. So, cause that went alongside the geocaching mega event there in Yuma. There was one in Virginia and California as well. Look at that VA.

Rob (05:55.613)
Mm-hmm.

Craig (05:55.923)
Virginia and California and around the world. had Germany only that was it. Why? Because last weekend of the month, we expect that sort of thing too. So there you go. Rob leaderboards over the weekend. Do you want to start with Friday, man?

Rob (06:08.11)
Yes, I will start with slightly Sue 455,000 points Vado tech 363,000 and Q 22 Q 17 357,000.

Craig (06:21.97)
On Saturday. Oh, a name I haven't read out for quite some time. A name very close to my heart. It's my birthday twin in first place. Denali 0407, 254,000 points. Well done Denali. In second place, Colecracker7, 237, 35,000 points. Sorry. And in third place, StaceyZ, 225,000 points. On Sunday, mate.

Rob (06:26.029)
Yeah.

Rob (06:48.302)
On Sunday, Jack Sparrow 224,000, Cole Cracker 7175,000, and Jaroslav Kos 172,000.

Craig (06:57.784)
Nice job. Current events this weekend coming up. There's a lot more now because the new month has started. We have Indiana, we have Iowa, we have Arizona, Alabama, we have in, no, what's that one?

Rob (07:11.726)
Idaho was the first one Idaho. Yeah, then Indiana is on there. So you are correct.

Craig (07:13.778)
Idaho. IA, Indiana. I was correct. So yeah, so anyway, I'll start again. Idaho. What's IA? Wow. Iowa, Arizona, Alabama, India, India, Indiana, and Texas. I'm gonna, Rob, you're gonna do the USA from now on. They're around the world.

Rob (07:23.214)
Iowa, you got it right the first time.

Rob (07:34.35)
You're making up states, so I'm going to make up countries. you ready for around the world? On Diego, Canada. No, it's Ontario, Canada. We have England, Finland, Germany, Denmark and Spain.

Craig (07:38.194)
Absolutely, around the world. There you go.

Craig (07:51.121)
Very, very cool. And don't forget as well, if you have a look at the calendar, there's pink highlights, right? What are the pink highlights around? There's different events with pink highlights around them. Yeah.

Rob (07:58.444)
Ooh, those are the special monthly events and they've got special prizes and stuff attached to them, right? They've got badges and there is a streak for attending one each month, which hopefully you went to one in January, but there's also a streak for hosting each month. So yeah, be sure that you get to a special pink event.

Craig (08:02.098)
Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm.

Craig (08:18.52)
Mm-hmm. Yep.

Craig (08:25.112)
And I was questioned a week or two ago in regards to this. You must either A, attend an event every single month that's got the pink thing around it as well. And you get this special bouncer at the end of the year for every single one. So one each month, not 12 in total, one each month. or if you are a host of one, then you get a different bouncer as well. So, but if you're a host of one, you're actually there capping your own as well. So therefore you'll get two.

of those, if you host every single month, that's how that works. All right, Rob, big events coming up. looked further into the calendar for the big events coming up and there's got events popping up everywhere. Rob, you know, there's one, there's a couple of events there in July in the UK. One's starting to grow quite nicely as well in where, where's that one in the UK? Rob I saw it. Colchester, Colchester, Colchester, Colchester. I can't even say the States of the U S I'm not going to pronounce that one as well.

Rob (09:13.07)
Colchester, think. Yeah, it's the northeast of London. There you go for everyone. Look at the calendar. It's easier to do that than have me give you a geographic less lesson of England. Thanks.

Craig (09:22.577)
There we go.

Craig (09:26.514)
And me tell you where the name of the town is. So that's right. That's right.

Okay. You're back. That's right. No, meant after that we have February 20, Foley, Alabama, the day before the Bama Omega. I'll be there for that one. Then March madness, a six and seventh of March and March madness, four events, one on Friday, three on Saturday, 35 people now attending on that one there as well. Now the best thing is Rob, Rob, Rob, I actually reached out and I've got an interview with one of the hosts there. Q 22 Q 17. So

I'm gonna throw it to Brenda.

Craig (00:00.093)
G'day, g'day, g'day. Rob, I've already spoken to you. You're not on this call now. Why? Because you're not invited. I have Q22Q17 with me. Brenda, how are you?

Brenda (00:15.566)
Hi, I'm doing well, thanks. Thanks for inviting me.

Craig (00:16.423)
What?

No, thank you for joining up as well. I had some questions and I thought rather than me texting you, thought, no, I'll get you on the phone and we chat about it directly from there and let everyone else know about it too. And we're to talk about the magnificent Munzee event that you're hosting in California. Tell us, tell us, Brenda yourself and how many others are actually hosting this event.

Brenda (00:39.774)
Yes, so this will be the 15th year of Munzee madness here in Orange County, California There are three of us who have been hosting for over a decade this year We're adding Mike Wenzong from Gilroy, California who is who is helping us out as well He has helped us for the last couple of years, but we're making him an official host this year So the four of us are putting together all four of the events that we're having on March 7th

sixth and seventh and we hope that you'll come and join us this year.

Craig (01:13.519)
Absolutely. I'll be there with bells on. Don't you worry about that. I'm trying to get as many Munzee team over there as well. know some of them, the California ones like Mari and Tamara, they're on the list to join as well. I'm not sure about Rob yet. I can't talk for the president, but tell everyone if they haven't been to a Munzee madness before, what can they expect by attending a Munzee madness event?

Brenda (01:36.322)
Yeah, so we have a Friday night event and then we typically hold all of our events on Saturday. We have done several surveys in the past that folks have told us that they really appreciate not having events on Sundays. So it's something that we've done for the last several years so that you can have Sundays to do whatever you need to go clean up areas, fly when you need to fly, drive when you need to drive, that type of thing. Since it's not a holiday weekend,

Folks have told us that they appreciate having Sundays to themselves. So we typically do a An event on Friday night that sort of is close to an eating establishment this year It'll be in the parking lot of a Chick-fil-a so you can either eat or not or whatever And then we've chosen three really cool locations in the city of Huntington Beach So this year we're going closer to the ocean So we're not going to be as far inland as we typically do this year

Craig (02:19.975)
you

Craig (02:27.709)
Mm-hmm.

Wow.

Craig (02:34.621)
Mm-hmm.

Brenda (02:34.808)
going out closer to the ocean. So if you really, really have a hankering to see the ocean, then it's just hardly a five minute drive from where we're going to have the Saturday morning event at 930 in the morning. And then lunchtime, you know, the middle of the day, we'll have another great location. And then

Craig (02:46.983)
Mm-hmm.

Brenda (02:56.0)
Saturday afternoon in Huntington Central Park. Now, I just got back from Yuma, Arizona and the geocaching that we did this last weekend, it was a trifecta with geocaching Munzee and Pokemon Go. And I got to tell you the Huntington Beach Central Park, if you play all three, I got to tell you that park has it in spades for you. So every time.

Craig (02:59.399)
Mm-hmm.

Craig (03:04.934)
Mm-hmm.

Craig (03:08.907)
Brenda (03:20.234)
every kind of geocache you can think of and every kind of Pokemon stop in addition to hanging out with some really cool Munzey people.

Craig (03:27.389)
So what you're saying, Brenda, number one most important thing is to bring extra battery backup for your devices as well. by the sounds of it. So all those battery packs that people carry around within their pockets, et cetera, bringing plenty of those.

Brenda (03:36.206)
With.

Brenda (03:42.134)
without a doubt without a doubt

Craig (03:44.317)
Now, speaking of the beach, Brenda, I mean, we are talking February here in February, in most cases in the Northern hemisphere. quite cool. Tell us about the weather. What, what sort of weather are you, you Brenda, putting on for everyone who attends?

Brenda (03:58.988)
Well, it's interesting that you're asking me that today because the high here in Orange County, California is going to be 87 degrees Fahrenheit today. I know it's unseasonably warm right now. So that first weekend in March, you know, it's hit or miss. We do have backup plans in case we have rain, but you know, it never rains in Southern California. It pours. So we'll have some backup plans for that day. If we do get rained out, we have not been raining.

Craig (04:07.01)
What? Wow.

Craig (04:11.793)
Mm-hmm.

Craig (04:17.969)
Mm-hmm.

Craig (04:21.808)
That's true.

Craig (04:26.65)
Mm-hmm.

Brenda (04:29.112)
out in over a decade. you know, yeah, please touch wood, do not do rain dances, whatever that is. Yeah, but we have backup plans. So I'm hoping that it's going to be, you know, highs in the mid 70s, lows in the mid 40s, know, Southern California, that's pretty much temperate for us almost year round. Right now with this heatwave we're having has been kind of crazy.

Craig (04:30.684)
Oh, I'm touching wood, I'm touching wood. No, no, no, no,

Craig (04:53.071)
Yeah.

Craig (04:56.636)
Yeah, I heard about the heat wave. mean, I'm on the other side. I'm Southern Alabama, which normally is quite temperate and moderate. Not at the moment. It's freezing cold. I'm waking up to ice everywhere. It's just insane. Um, but anyway, Brenda, enough about the weather itself. What else can people expect when they get there? When it comes to Munzee stuff, what's, uh, what's happening with the events? Is there going to be lots of, yeah, lots of cards there, that sort of thing too.

Brenda (05:18.988)
Well, we've been building some gardens over Huntington Central Park for the last year or so. So there's going to be quite a bit in the way of regular virtual flats and EVOs. A lot of them will be evolved by the time our event comes. In addition to that, we're going to have seven unique badges and four unique icons for the four different events. There's going to be a lot to do. We will have a couple of different raffle stuff.

Craig (05:34.96)
Mm-hmm.

Brenda (05:48.865)
things to do so that people will have opportunities to win things whether it's other game pieces or physicals or what have you I have quite a stockpile of things here in the house that I will bring with me to auction off and raffle so I think I think it's gonna be a really good traditional day with a lot of fun and you'll get to hang out with some really cool people and it's my understanding that

Craig (05:54.511)
No.

Craig (05:59.613)
Mm-hmm.

Craig (06:07.206)
Mm-hmm.

Craig (06:12.646)
Mm-hmm.

Brenda (06:18.818)
we are going to be very close to someone's birthday.

Craig (06:23.644)
Like it happens every single year.

Brenda (06:26.664)
Like it happens every single year, but this particular person's birthday is going to be a milestone. And that's all I'm going to say because we might be doing something special.

Craig (06:37.98)
Oh, nice. All right. won't, I won't pry you anymore in regards to that. That's fine. That's not a problem at all. Um, so the locations are good. Uh, we're talking about, know, people contending they can do their walk around, get their cake at every single event as well. When we say get their cake, if you haven't been to an event before, you go around and click the event pins and you get cake, which you then redeem for other items in the store as well. So all that sort of stuff is available for you. And I dare say maybe some actual cake involved as well. Uh, Brenda, I dare say.

Brenda (07:06.06)
Well, given that there is a birthday involved of somebody that we both you and I know very well, there might be some actual physical cake involved in addition to digital cake.

Craig (07:14.171)
Mm-hmm.

Craig (07:17.892)
Nice. Perfect. Perfect. Well, thank you very much, Brendan. Before I leave you, is there anything else that you would like to tell everyone in regards to Southern California, Huntington Beach? Huntington Beach, California. That's a very well known location too. It's well known for movie locations and stuff like that too. If you can get there, even a little bit earlier before the Munzee stuff starts, you can do your own sort of touristy activities, you know, with the geocaching, with the Munzee, with all that sort of stuff, as we like to do. I know.

That's I want to do, but we'll soon see if that's the case or not. But I do, Brenda, I do want to dip my toes in the ocean there on the beach itself in Huntington beach. saying.

Brenda (07:53.827)
We'll make sure that that happens for you. The only thing I'd say as a final, you know, enticement, if everyone might possibly remember, last year during Munzee Madness, on that particular Saturday, our dear good friend Linda, none other than the queen of Munzee now, Colecracker7, did earn 9 million points in that 24-hour period. And I will just offer to anyone who

Craig (07:59.644)
Mm-hmm. Yeah.

Craig (08:04.145)
Mm-hmm.

Craig (08:13.286)
Mmm.

Craig (08:18.522)
This is true. This is true.

Brenda (08:23.85)
is considering coming, I can help you and give you spreadsheets to gardens and former Munzee madness locations and what have you. You just need to stock up all of your blasts and your virtual capture boosters and just be ready to have just a really great weekend because we actually have a lot of fun when we do these and we're really excited to have so many people we do know that are coming from out of town.

Craig (08:29.645)
No.

Nice.

Craig (08:36.814)
And your boosters. Yep, here you go.

Craig (08:49.968)
Mm-hmm.

Brenda (08:50.062)
And there are a couple international visitors who have reached out said they might be coming in from further out of the border than the US. So we never know who might show up at these and I always get surprised turn around and hug people that I wasn't expecting that were coming and it's just really a lot of fun.

Craig (08:54.215)
Craig (08:59.843)
Mm-hmm, that'd be nice.

Craig (09:04.668)
Mm-hmm.

Craig (09:09.252)
That's really cool. So get yourself down there and yes, thank you, Brenda. did, I did, I didn't forget, but I did forget to mention the good old queen of Munzee right now. Colecracker7 is still the world record holder for the most points in a day with over 9 million points happened this time last year in California. If you, you want to suppress, if you want to go past that, if you want to beat the queen of Munzee, it's something that no one else has done before yet. Get your backsides.

to trackside, so to speak, in California. Get some Munzee play going along and as Brenda said, get your blasts together, get your boosters together as well. And then Brenda is gonna help out with spreadsheets and whatnot so you can go around and get all the points you can actually obtain. Brenda, thank you so much for talking to us. I'll leave it there and I'll see you in California.

Brenda (09:57.259)
It's just a couple weeks away. Look forward to it. Bye.

Craig (10:00.273)
Bye.

Craig (00:00.818)
There we go. Rob Brenda. See, see what I mean, Rob? I reach out to the people. I'm a man of the people. Rob.

Rob (00:07.064)
I mean, I guess someone has to be. Is that what I'm supposed to say? I think I am, or at least I was at one point in time. So that's good. Yeah. Good to hear from Brenda, the Munzee madness events, the longest running, you know, in the, in the game. So great for them to still be going and look forward to seeing you and Brenda there, hopefully others too.

Craig (00:19.854)
Mm-hmm. Yeah.

Craig (00:28.292)
Mm-hmm. Absolutely. Meanwhile, July 10, 11, 12, Netherlands as well. This is a new one on the list. All I'll say is it's a great name for the town. So if you want to have look at the town name, July 10, 11, 12, go and have a look at the town name in the Netherlands. And Rob, I'm telling you, if a town name like that, I might want to move there myself. But anyway, September, September 18 to 20 is Munzey, Mainey, Minnesota. So,

Rob (00:41.089)
You

Rob (00:48.558)
Yeah.

Craig (00:55.484)
There we go. Get yourself to Munzey Mania up in Minnesota, September 18 to 20 also. All right, Rob, let's get onto it, mate. It's already long in the tooth. Wow, we're really into it today already. Developments this week, Rob. First of all, the bonus points this weekend, make sure you get to an event or do something around your area because you get double points on all greenies, cards, flats, mysteries, and evolutions as well. And that's for everyone, Rob, whether you're premium or non-premium. So double points for all that.

Remember, if you want to get, you know, four times points, then activate the boosters. That's all I'll say. Exactly. That's right. That's right. Also, Rob, what's next on the list? What came on sale recently?

Rob (01:30.926)
That's a great idea. Get out there and get your points. This is The Weeknd.

Rob (01:39.532)
Well, if you'll remember, Munz packs over the last year have had this new bouncer in them, the pack rat. And, you know, we talked about it, I think last week, definitely a week before. But yeah, so the the end of series one happened and that was the first 12 pack rats. So those started last February and they ran all the way through January of this year.

Craig (01:47.752)
the back rat.

Craig (02:02.952)
Mm-hmm.

Rob (02:05.574)
And so the first six of those have been released so that anyone is able to purchase those now. Yeah. So anybody who is looking for one of those pack rats, which goes out there and kind of completes the life cycle of twigs and cogs and all of that. Yeah. Then now is your chance. They interact basically with the mechs and the widows and the pack rats. That's the little circle of life, I guess.

Craig (02:11.4)
Nice.

Craig (02:21.301)
Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm.

Craig (02:32.2)
Mm-hmm.

Yep, the three of them itself. I think they're great. I think they're really cute as well. They do look really good. And of course we can't let the artwork go to waste. What else has been released with the pack rats?

Rob (02:44.32)
Well, with the pack rats bouncers that have gone out and those are available only in the online store. Also in the online store are the first six pack rats as personals. So we put the, the whittles out as personals. Why not go ahead and add these new pack rats? So, yeah, those are available. There's also three other designs that, that are there. There's a Munzee logo, there's a Whittles logo, and then there's one of Cappy. So, yeah.

Craig (02:56.84)
Craig (03:01.896)
Mm-hmm.

Craig (03:09.212)
Mm-hmm.

Craig (03:13.021)
Yeah.

Rob (03:13.934)
The personals are all listed in a single product on the online store, so you just have to scroll through and choose the ones that you're looking for.

Craig (03:20.838)
That's right. And with the release of the Nexus now as well, the personal's worth more. They're not worth more points, but they're, you're going to get more points because people cap the Nexus, which is attached to every single personal you have. So they can cap every personal you have with one cap, one cap to cap them all with the Nexus. If you don't have a Nexus, then again, that's available on the online store as well for the Nexus too. Or see good old Minnesota boy, Minnesota boy, Minnesota boy at an event.

Rob (03:37.994)
It's very handy.

Craig (03:49.86)
And he'll have the nexus with him as well. And he'll have all the other personal suit. So, you know, if you're going, for instance, if you're to go to a Munzee madness, then why not, you know, get it, get it from him in person, all the pack rats and the personals and all that stuff too. He'll have them all with him. There you go. I'm to put him on the spot. See, I'm to put him on the spot. Make sure he brings it with him. All right, Robert, next up, we're going to talk about a quality of life improvement.

Rob (04:07.758)
Great plan. Yeah.

Craig (04:16.751)
This one here was a, it's a one that's, you know, it's just one of those things that you don't realize you kind of need it until it happens. And you go, that's better. And what are we talking about? We're talking about badges.

Rob (04:25.614)
Hmm. Well, now that we've made it to like what clan battle 153 or something like that. Yeah. Yeah. You are the one who filled in the requirements on this one. So yeah, clan battle 155. Um, if you've participated in all of those, you've received badges, um, for, know, what level you made it to. And, uh, you know, we, we moved into six different levels, um, more than a year ago. So.

Craig (04:32.915)
155, trust me, I know.

Rob (04:56.238)
I mean, we're talking hundreds and for some people more than a thousand badges from clan wars. Well, what we've done is actually it's been a request for years for us to do something like this. We've made it so that the clan badges stack. the highest level that you received for a specific clan war.

Craig (05:01.04)
Mm-hmm.

Craig (05:09.521)
Mm-hmm.

Rob (05:21.1)
That's the one that's going to show online. You can click on it and it drills down and shows you all six as if they're a little stack. So it's a very handy feature. It takes some load off of loading badges on the website and the app. So that's always a good thing. So yes, everyone's life has improved if you had a lot of clan badges.

Craig (05:21.209)
Mm-hmm.

Craig (05:26.555)
Mm-hmm. Little stacks, nice.

Craig (05:36.419)
Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Yeah.

Craig (05:46.023)
Absolutely. And this is the same thing moving forward from now on. You'll see that, you know, each time you, even for this one, one 55 that, as you got this level, the clan badge will get, uh, will increase because of just sit on top of the next badge on top of the next page on top of the next page. But meanwhile, Rob, there's been a couple of little chit chats out there in regards to the clan wars for this month, because it was a bit untoward, a bit unknown.

Look at that, Rob, there's no POI requirements for number of POI. There's no, there's no crates out there as well. And some people said, you know, why isn't there any crates? I'm like, you can't please everyone. But Rob, will say, I will say I did this to see who out there has like the OCD when regards to the point values, not having them as round figures. and, and yeah, that really annoyed some other people who said like, they like the variety. See? So there you go. Look out people for next. I said people.

Rob (06:30.7)
yeah. Yeah.

Craig (06:39.321)
That means everyone look out players for, for next month because it may get a little bit more wilder when it comes to, random numbers. We'll say that, but don't worry. I don't use a random numberizer. Like some people said, I don't use a random like number trigger thing. I actually work it out, but it will not be around fingers. It will not.

Rob (06:59.054)
3.14, stuff like that. That would be amazing.

Craig (07:01.959)
something like that. Well, if it's if it's March 14, it will be pi day. So what

Rob (07:07.95)
Hey everyone, just remember that March is a very green month. I mean, in terms of the world, this is the month that most people are able to start getting back out there from heat and cool and it just merges together. So anyway, that's my heads up a reminder, not just to the players, but to the clan master himself.

Craig (07:14.311)
Hmmmm

Craig (07:21.031)
Correct. Correct.

Craig (07:31.257)
I wouldn't say clan master, I'm an apprentice, clan apprentice.

Rob (07:34.416)
my apologies. You are correct. You are the, you are the the up-and-coming clan runner.

Craig (07:40.731)
Correct. Correct. But meanwhile, you can call me master of this one. That is, I'm going to say congratulations to GeoMatrix out there as well. He was the winner of the Munzee Monthly Moments video in January. A brilliant video too. He's, he used, it was a funny video. Yep. Yep. Yep. It was a great video.

Rob (07:42.253)
I'm

Rob (07:53.1)
What a funny video. so great. Loved it. Absolutely loved it. You shared it. I mean, I went in, I had to write a comment. Like it was amazing. So, so much fun. Everyone, please go watch it. so good. Yeah.

Craig (08:06.727)
Yeah. Yeah. He does. I'll be honest with you. Uh, we have had chats back and forth him and I, and he's, he's building up his, uh, his skill level of editing and stuff as well. But don't let that sway you. If you're a person out there who's never done a video at all, you can still put your video of the month in your submission in, you don't have to be that way of editing. You don't have to have big storylines like, you know, uh, wheel and does as well. You don't have to do any of that sort of stuff.

Just get your videos in there. The more videos, the happier I am. the more I've got to choose from as well. and at the end of the day, yeah, I do like, you know, a few, a few, finalists I'll say that, and then the people pick who wins it totally. But I also do the wheel of names, Rob and the wheel of names is random. So you can still win a random prize. Even if you just literally just do the actual, requirement that month. Meanwhile, the requirement for February Rob, tell us about painted rocks.

Rob (09:00.622)
Ooh, painted rocks. Well, that's right. For those of you who have been around for a while, we freeze tag, put out a painted rocks app. It's conveniently called painted rocks app. Back. mean, that's been three and a half years ago, something like that. Well, there were some issues with the app in general where it wasn't working properly on Google.

Craig (09:01.255)
yeah, I know.

Craig (09:18.917)
Mmm. Yeah.

Craig (09:26.471)
Mm-hmm.

Rob (09:27.334)
in order to focus on Munzee and various other things, we didn't put a lot of work into that painted rocks app. Well, we've relaunched that app earlier, this year. Well, last month, cause that's the only time that there was so far. so, yeah, that one's gone back out. conversations, you know, through the team, Hey, what do we do, you know, with this, painted rocks app is a, a complimentary app, if you will.

Craig (09:48.197)
Mm-hmm. Yeah.

Craig (09:55.719)
Mm-hmm.

Rob (09:56.206)
to things like geocaching to things like Munzee and Well, since both of them are our apps. Why not? Why not cross promote and try and grow that game? We've got a couple of other things that we're working on big cross promotions on the painted rocks side But this is not the painted rocks podcast. So I'll just toss it back to you What did you do with painted rocks? Not necessarily the painted rocks app. However, it might help. What'd do for February with that?

Craig (10:00.133)
Mm-hmm.

Craig (10:24.679)
So all you have to do for February, you don't even have to download the painted rocks app. Cause I've had some people say, well, that's it. Now I'm not going to do this because I don't to download another app and that's fine. You don't have to download the app for it. All you need to do is show yourself capping a physical or virtual Munzee. whilst you either, a painting a rock B finding a painted rock or C hiding a painted rock. that could be Rob. There's people out there at the moment in like 12 foot of snow.

If you don't go outside and 12 foot of snow, which I wouldn't, then why not, you know, show yourself capping your skyland or something nearby you, you're wishing well, et cetera. Show that cap and then show yourself painting a rock inside your house. That's it. You know, things like that. It's so easy. You don't have to show the app. You don't have to show you actually hiding it. None of that. That's too hard, too difficult to worry about Munzee. We still talk about, we're still Munzee focused, but we just want you to show you how to paint rocks and stuff as well.

Rob (10:53.163)
Yeah

Craig (11:19.749)
And I will say one more thing. I love the painted rocks app. is predominantly, if you're a geocacher, it's predominantly trackables for painted rocks. So that's all it is. If you didn't know what it was, that's all it is. If you are into painted rocks, especially with your kids and stuff as well, why not have a look, you know, download it and see what it's all about. And all it does is gives you tracking code numbers that you can put on the back of the rock. Then you go and hide it and hide it in the app, like you do the trackable. And then other people can come and find it. And then they pick it up and move it.

And then you can see it's movement. that's all it is. It's, it's very clever. That's all.

Rob (11:51.182)
That's all. Hey everybody. mean, I'd like everybody to look at this in a slightly larger view, just real quick. And that is, there are literally millions of people worldwide that love these painted rocks, whether they find them, whether they paint them, whether they hide them, whatever. Okay. Let's imagine that we get some percentage of those people just through this painted rocks app, you know, if those people become interested in painted rocks, then we say to them, Hey, by the way,

Craig (11:57.338)
Yeah.

Craig (12:03.865)
Yeah. Yeah.

Craig (12:11.495)
Mm-hmm.

Rob (12:20.664)
There's another location based game that you should check out. It's called Munzee. That's the overall ultimate goal down the road is to build this painted rocks app to also then bring people into the Munzee world. If you're putting videos out there that tie Munzee and painted rocks together. Okay, maybe I've painted the picture like a painting of rock. I hope that it makes a little more sense. Everyone, please don't be upset with this word.

Craig (12:28.347)
Yeah. Yeah.

Craig (12:40.486)
Mm-hmm.

Craig (12:48.679)
Absolutely. It's absolutely. All right, we're going to move on now to the question of the week. And this one here came from online and it says that I've noticed a new player in my area. Do you have any tips on keeping them in the game without overwhelming them? Because it can be overwhelming when you're brand new in a, in an established area, Rob. Any tips at all?

Rob (12:48.942)
We're doing our best to grow at all, I promise you that. It's all about Munzee in the end though, I promise.

Rob (13:12.534)
Yeah, it can definitely be overwhelming, depending on the area for sure. It is very exciting when you see a new player. Try not to be excited like a, you know, new little puppy and like just dance all over the place and wet yourself and they like just chill, chill, just a touch, right? That's my, I did say that quietly. Try.

Craig (13:22.791)
Mm-hmm.

Craig (13:27.271)
Say wait.

No, he said it out loud.

Rob (13:39.894)
Yeah, sorry. It was in my head. Just you. You want you want to help people? That's for sure. So don't send them 50 messages. That's not going to help. We actually have Cappy the unicorn sending messages to brand new players for the first. I think it's 60 days. It doesn't send 60. It sends like seven or eight messages. So, you know, over the first week, if you put a message in there just saying

Craig (13:43.491)
Anyway, tips, tips.

Yeah.

Craig (13:55.707)
Mm-hmm.

Craig (13:59.324)
Mm-hmm.

Craig (14:03.355)
Yeah.

Rob (14:09.196)
Hey, I'm a real player. I'm local. Would you be interested in, you know, a little bit of extra help? That would be great because I think it's about the seventh day when Cappy sends a message that says, would you like to interact with, you know, a real human because I am not. and so gives a couple of suggestions there for how to do that. discord, Facebook, you know, those kinds of things. So.

Craig (14:10.854)
Yeah.

Craig (14:20.529)
Mm-hmm.

Craig (14:24.455)
yeah.

Craig (14:28.891)
Mm-hmm.

Rob (14:33.952)
For all of you sending a quick message, a short message, not a long message with a bunch of instructions, just something to try and get a little bit of chat going back and forth. Once you've done that, there are Munzee tutorials on YouTube. We suggest that you share those. We share those from Capping the Unicorn, so that would be helpful. You can also put a couple of greenies out for them to cap daily, maybe a virtual.

Craig (14:38.479)
Mm-mm. Mm-mm.

Craig (14:49.809)
Mm-hmm.

Craig (14:54.737)
Mm-hmm.

Craig (14:59.015)
Mmm. Mm-hmm.

Rob (15:03.65)
try and figure out exactly where they live. No, but if you see areas where they might be capping regularly, like POIs and stuff like that, you know, just put out a couple of other things. don't, don't go super creeper from the very beginning. Just, go nice and easy and maybe they'll stick around. We all want them to stick around.

Craig (15:06.681)
No.

Craig (15:12.448)
Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Exactly.

Craig (15:20.231)
Ha

Craig (15:25.155)
Absolutely, Rob. And I will say that my biggest tip, this is the, this is the one and only tip I give to every single person who I meet for the first time capping Munzees and downloading the app. And that is very simple. If it's square, it's physical. So look for your QR code. If it's a circle, it's a virtual. So you know, there's no QR code and you can cap it within a certain foot. That's, that's it. And then let them work out as they go along. You don't have to talk about bounces. You don't have to talk about skylanes. You don't have to talk about tree houses. Nah, nah.

We know Munzee is a deep, deep, deep, deep dive. So yeah, no need to deep dive into it straight away because you will overwhelm players. I know Rob, when I first come back into Munzee, I was overwhelmed. You I didn't realize, you know, I joined a clan and the clan was saying, know, do you have a tree house near you? I'm like, what's a tree house? And yeah, things like that too. So I learned through a clan. So I'm not sure if anyone's listening out there who I was in the clan with back in...

Rob (15:56.173)
Indeed.

Craig (16:19.751)
three and a half years ago, but thank you, whoever it was that I was talking to in my clan. Anyway, Rob, I'm digressing. We're moving on now to the Munzee Tip of the Week. And my tip, Rob, this is my tip again. I like my tips. And that is take advantage of Mech Mondays. Why is that, Rob? Why is that?

Rob (16:37.038)
I forgot the Mech Mondays were happening. That's why. No, it's because you've got the double deploys, right? So by deploying one, you actually get two. So don't forget, which by the way, did that fail for the first handful of hours on this past Monday? Yes, it did. Apologies, everyone. Don't worry. It was fixed. We apologize. So on all the Mondays this month, get those Mechs out there and

Craig (16:45.925)
Yes, yeah, that's right. That's right.

Craig (16:54.695)
It's okay, it's okay, it's fixed, it's fixed.

Rob (17:04.852)
well, you're helping me as an apprentice, in multiple ways. And I got a message from you with here's what everyone would love to have more of in the redeem store. And I said, okay, so go ahead and tell everyone.

Craig (17:08.513)
Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm.

Craig (17:18.535)
So, some, someone has put in a new ways to actually redeem for cogs for cogs. you can redeem things for cogs in the redeem store too. I know, right? I know. Wow. No, no, it's, it's, it's some things are like, you know, wow. Do I have to read that much? Yes. Because cogs actually worth a good value of points. So, point for point value. Yes. that's what happens with the redeem store. Go and have a look in the redeem store and I will say Rob.

Rob (17:31.8)
Wow, that's amazing.

Craig (17:48.643)
Now that, know, myself, Minnesota boy as well. we've got our little fingers in different pies. always say, why not just have a perusal, Rob have a perusal in the redeemed stores, have a perusal of different things as well. You know, maybe like the, with a Dodge pup going out and then back and then out again. we'll soon see.

Rob (18:06.889)
Ah, yes. Ah, yes. We learn as we go. Every day is a school day, like I said earlier.

Craig (18:11.965)
Absolutely. All right, Rob, that ends another official Munzee podcast.

Rob (18:15.758)
Thanks for joining us on this exciting Monday adventure.

Craig (18:19.429)
You were excited, Rob. Don't forget, subscribe, rate, review on your favorite podcasting app and join us next week for another informative episode.
