Hey, welcome to Renewed Mindsets. I'm Rick, and I'm so glad you're here. Now, this is something special. For the next 25 days, we're gonna slow down, we're gonna quiet our hearts, and we're gonna turn our eyes towards Jesus as we walk through Advent together. Now every day we'll take a few minutes to breathe and reflect and remember the hope that came into the world and the hope that's coming again. Hey, welcome back to Renewed Mindsets for our Advent Bible reading. Today is day 15 of Advent. Uh we are 10 days in. Sorry. See, my brain is still coming off all this medication, so day 15 would be we're means we're 15 days in, or 10 days to Christmas. Day 15 is the birth of Jesus, will be in Luke chapter 2, verses 1 through 7 from the New Living Translation. I'll jump right in. At that time, the Roman Emperor Augustus decreed that a census should be taken throughout the Roman Empire. This was the first census taken when Quirinius was governor of Syria. All returned to their own ancestral towns to register for the census. And because Joseph was a descendant of King David, he had to go to Bethlehem in Judea. David's ancient home. He traveled there from the village of Nazareth in Galilee. He took with him Mary, to whom he was engaged, who was now expecting a child. And while they were there, the time came for her baby to be born. She gave birth to her firstborn son. She wrapped him snugly in strips of cloth and laid him in a manger because there was no lodging available for them. That was short, it was sweet, and what more do you really need to say?
