Holiday noise is loud, but the quiet moment at a well in John 4 speaks louder. We step into Day 22 of our Advent journey and sit with the Samaritan woman as Jesus offers living water—an inner spring that never runs dry, even when life feels thin. Rick hosts solo today, reading John 4:7–14 and guiding us into a slower rhythm built around breath, Scripture, and expectant hope.

We talk about the ache beneath the holiday rush and why our most used wells—productivity, approval, distraction—leave us thirsty again. The conversation lands on Jesus’ promise of a source within: not a seasonal boost, but a Spirit-led renewal that turns prayer into oxygen and Scripture into daily bread. Along the way, we name the barriers that often keep us from receiving—busyness, doubt, and the belief that we don’t qualify—and we watch Jesus cross every line to meet a woman who thought she was on the outside. That same grace reaches into our crowded calendars and tired hearts.

By the end, you’ll have a simple Advent posture to practice: watch, pray, and keep your heart ready for the One who came and the One who’s coming soon. If you’ve been running on fumes, let this be your pause and your prompt to draw from a deeper well. Subscribe for the daily readings, share this with someone who needs hope, and leave a review to help others find the journey. Let’s stay watchful, stay holy, and stay renewed together.

Hey, welcome to Renewed Mindsets. I'm Rick, and I'm so glad you're here. Now, this is something special. For the next 25 days, we're gonna slow down, we're gonna quiet our hearts, and we're gonna turn our eyes towards Jesus as we walk through Advent together. Now, every day we'll take a few minutes to breathe and reflect and remember the hope that came into the world and the hope that's coming again. Hey, welcome back to Renewed Mindsets for the Advent Bible Reading Plan. Today we're on day twenty. What day are we on, Rick? Oh, I don't know. Let me find out. We're on day twenty two. We'll be reading from John chapter four, verse seven through fourteen from the New Living Translation. And the big surprise today is everybody's busy for the holidays. And it's just me. So I get to read to you today. I think we'll probably have Lauren for tomorrow. I don't know. You're just gonna have to wait and see. So here we go. I'm gonna read from again John chapter 4, verses 7 through 14. Soon a Samaritan woman came to draw water, and Jesus said to her, Please give me a drink. He was alone at the time because his disciples had gone to the village to buy some food. The woman was surprised, for Jews refused to have anything to do with Samaritans. She said to Jesus, You're a Jew, and I'm a Samaritan woman. Why are you asking me for a drink? Jesus replied, If you only knew the gift God has for you and who you're speaking to, you would ask me, and I would give you living water. But, sir, you don't have a rope or a bucket, she said, and this well is very deep. Where would you get this living water? And besides, do you think you're greater than our ancestor Jacob who gave us this well? How can you offer better water than he and his sons and his animals enjoyed? Jesus replied, Anyone who drinks this water will soon become thirsty again. But those who drink the water I give them will never be thirsty again. It becomes a fresh, bubbling spring within them, giving them eternal life. Amen and amen. Such a good passage, good verses. It's getting close to Christmas. Everybody's getting excited. I know you are. I appreciate you staying with us every day. Come back tomorrow. I love you. All right. Thanks for joining me today on Renewed Mindsets. As we walk through Advent, let's stay expectant. Let's stay watching, praying, and keeping our hearts ready for the one who came and the one who's coming again soon. I love you. Let's keep our minds renewed and our eyes on Jesus. The executive producer of Renewed Mindsets is Christy McCurry. That's all for today, but I'll be back with more unfiltered biblical truth and undeniable prophecy. The time to wake up is now. If today's episode challenged you, don't keep it to yourself.
