Let's go, boys. Welcome back to Renewed Mindsets. This week is sacred. As we step into Passover, we're not just remembering a moment in history, we're stepping into a mirror. Because what happened in Exodus still speaks directly to our lives today. This isn't just about Israel being delivered from Egypt. This is about what it looks like to trust God when you don't fully understand what he's doing. And if I'm being honest with you, that's where I've grown the most. Not believing God exists, but in surrendering when his plan didn't look like mine. I want you to picture that first Passover night. Families inside their homes, children asking questions, parents trying to stay calm while uncertainty filled the air. Outside, judgment was coming. Inside, they had instructions. Take a lamb, apply the blood, stay inside. And that was it. No backup plan, no visible guarantee, no second option, just obedience. And I've thought about that a lot because I wonder how many people stood at that doorway holding that hyssop branch, thinking, is this really enough? Now let's bring this into real life because God still gives instructions today. Not usually this visibly, but clearly enough in our spirit through his word. And sometimes what he asks of us doesn't feel comfortable. Now let me be transparent for a moment. There have been times in my life where I felt God saying, let that go. Step away from that. Stop trying to fix this. Trust me here. And everything in me wanted to respond with, but God, this matters to me. And maybe you've been there too, where obedience feels like it's going to cost you something. And the truth is, it usually does. There's something that I've had to face in my own life. And this is it. I don't struggle with faith. I struggle with control. I want to understand it. I want to fix it. I want to make it work. And when something doesn't go the way I thought it would, my instinct isn't always surrender. It's figuring out how to regain control. But Passover confronts that. Because that night in Egypt, control was an illusion. No one could stop what was coming. No one could reason their way out of it. No one could negotiate with it. The only option was trust what God said and obey it fully. Now let's not miss this. It wasn't perfection that saved them. It wasn't effort. It wasn't how confident they felt. It was the blood. And I think sometimes we overcomplicate what God is asking of us because we think it's about us getting everything right, but it's not. It's about being covered. And today that covering is Jesus. But here's the part we don't always ask about. They had to apply the blood. It wasn't enough that the lamb was slain, it had to be placed on the door. And in our lives, that looks like this. Not just believing in Jesus, but living in alignment with him. Now this gets me every time. God didn't just say apply the blood. He said stay inside. And I can imagine as that night went on, as the tension grew, as the unknown pressed in, someone had, somebody had to feel the urge to just step outside. Just to check. Just to see. Just to make sure. And isn't that exactly what we do? God tells us to trust him, but we keep stepping outside trying to manage the outcome. We revisit what he told us to release. We reopen what he told us to close. We interfere with what he told us to leave alone. And if I'm honest again, I've done that way more times than I'd like to admit. Where God said, leave it. And I said, just one more look. Now let me say something that might help someone today. Surrender is rarely a one-time moment. It's a daily decision. Sometimes hourly. There are things that I've had to lay down before God more than once. Not because I didn't mean it the first time, because my heart kept trying to pick it back up. And maybe that's where you are. You've prayed about it, you've given it to God, but you still feel the pull. It doesn't make you weak, it makes you human. The key is you got to keep surrendering. Now let's go deeper for a minute. A lot of times the reason we struggle to trust God isn't because we don't believe He can. It's because we're afraid of what He might choose. What if His plan doesn't look like mine? What if I lose something I care about? What if this doesn't turn out the way I want? And that's real. But here's what I'm in the process of learning. God's will may not always feel good at the moment, but it will always be good in the end. Let's make this personal. Because this week isn't just about remembering Passover, it's about living it. So ask yourself honestly: what is God asking me to trust Him with right now? A relationship? A decision? A future you can't control? Something you need to release? That's your doorpost. Now you gotta take action. You identify it clearly. You gotta stop avoiding it. Bring it to the light. Then you apply the blood. Surrender it to Jesus fully, not partially, and then stay inside. Stop interfering. Stop revisiting. Stop trying to control it. You've got to trust the process even when you don't see immediate results. So let me speak this over you as as we close. You don't have to understand everything to trust God. You don't have to see the outcome to obey him. And you don't have to feel ready to surrender. All you have to do is take him at his word. That's what Passover teaches us. Not control, not certainty, but trust. Let's pray. This week, God, as we remember Passover, help us to slow down and to really see what you're asking of us. Show us the areas where we're holding on too tightly. Give us the courage to surrender even when it's hard. Even when it costs us something. Teach us to trust you. Not just when it's easy, but when it's uncomfortable. Help us to stay under your covering, to walk in obedience, to rest in the truth. The truth that you're in control. Lord, we give it to you again. In Jesus' name. Amen. If this spoke to you today, don't keep it to yourself. Share it with somebody who needs it. Now I know I've been gone for a while, but Renewed Mindsets is back. I just needed a little break. Everybody gets a break, but nobody gives a break to the podcast guy. They expect their episode every week. And for that I apologize. As you walk through this week, just remember surrender at the door leads to peace inside. A renewed mind leads to a transformed life. The executive producer of Renewed Mindsets is Christy McCurry. That's all for today, but I'll be back with more unfiltered biblical truth and undeniable prophecy. The time to wake up is now. If today's episode challenged you, don't keep it to yourself.
