Today we celebrate the Solemnity of the Ascension of the Lord, that moment when Jesus, having completed His earthly mission, returns to the Father in glory. But the Ascension is not Jesus leaving us behind. It is Jesus lifting us up, entrusting us with His mission, and empowering us with His Spirit.
