CEO Meets Homeschool with Timea Parker

Episode 81: Pay for coaching events and experiences

Timea Parker Season 1 Episode 81

Welcome to CEO Meets Homeschool. My name is Timea Parker, and I am both a CEO and homeschool mom to my four boys. Welcome to episode 81. Today I am going to get back into the 10x jumps and do my best to finish up the list that I had created. And I like today's topic. It makes me smile. So the title is going to pay for coaching, events, and experiences. And I can attest that this not only has been a game changer, but it has been such fun to, um, push yourself and get connected with people that interest you, that are exceptional. And so it's really helped me do a lot more traveling and create. Kind of build my network and build better relationships on the business side. So I'll jump right in. I'll just share a few of the things. So the way I chose this is I would just come across people that resonated with me, that held similar values and beliefs, or just, I, you know, there's, there's social media people that you have a, you kind of feel connected with them. And one of these, um, folks that I'm going to actually list, they say. with their like skills on being, I hate to say this, but they call it influencer. And they say they, they work to get your trust. And so either I fall for scams or what he's doing is like actually true cause they gain your trust and then you want to participate in some of the programs and I think there's a balance to it. Some of these folks, like, I'd like to think that the list that I'm going to share that they're genuine folks, but there's plenty of not so good people on. Social media that can gain people's trust and probably influence in a not so great way. So you can take all that I say today with a grain of salt, but the point is, is as a business person, you want to get inside a room where you're the least smartest person. You want your closest friends. To be well ahead of you in life, to be kind of challenging you. There's just these like principles that you'll hear, you know, again and again from successful entrepreneurs. And the concept or 10 X jump is sometimes you don't know where to start. So get in the same room with really wise, smart, exceptional people that. carry the same values or similar values or challenge you. However you want to break that apart. I'll let you guys interpret it in your own way. So I started with some coaching. In fact, I just realized there's, there's, I, I have four people on here, but there's some more that have come across into my world that I really appreciate. But the four would, that I'm going to talk about today is Jesse Itzler, Brandon Turner, Cody Sanchez, and Chad Wright. And so I have in one way or another, either gone through their coaching program, their mastermind, or attended their events. And each of those people are very different. They bring different strengths to the table. And I have immensely enjoyed this. It probably all gets lumped into personal development, but. I have grown, and then also I wanted to mention experiences. I've done a lot more traveling because I sometimes think of a amazing place I'd like to go and it feels impossible. What I have done is I found these places that, and I thought, how on earth can I figure out how to go? And so trips like going with my husband without our kids to the Amalfi Italy, and then world schooling in Europe for three weeks with my kiddos. Those have been, and part of that was we went skiing in Chamonix, France, which seemed unbelievable to pull off. Even my son, when he was quite a bit younger, probably 14, he planned an entire trip to Alaska. We got, he knows how to find the craziest deals on travel, airline tickets. And so he planned that and budgeted it. And so I will wrap up by just saying, when you pay for something like a coaching, And especially when funds are tight, but you say, I'm going to invest in myself and you put that cash out, it kind of like, it shows that you're serious, that you want to grow. And as soon as money leaves your account, you're more likely to invest in the program because now there's skin in the game. And so I just have found this to be true. And especially when. Funds are tight and you still go for it. I think in those cases you even get more out of it because you just cannot fail. Like you got to get something out of it. So pay for coaching events and experience was definitely a 10 X jump for me. And I highly encourage it. Have a great day.
