Timea Parker Season 2 Episode 96
Timea:

Welcome to season two of CEO Meets Homeschool. My name is Timia Parker, and I'm both a CEO and homeschool mom to my four boys. Welcome to episode 96. So I wanted to share a little bit about this unique Ability course that I recently wrapped up, and I'm not really going to share about my results, but I'm gonna just share about the course and the journey that it took me on. And I hope it's a bit helpful to those listening. And the funny thing is, is the course is like a$40 course. So if this interests you, send me a message and I will send you the link to this course. But it's connected to a personal development I. Kind of a program for entrepreneurs, that's about 15,000. So I did not do that. I just ended up, someone gave me some feedback about that entire program, and it's always nice to talk to people who have gone ahead. And so I, I didn't do the, the large program, but I was still interested in this course. So what a big. What a big difference,$40 versus 15,000. But let me tell you a little bit about it and how, um, I'll share how much I enjoyed it and have grown in doing this. So I completed the course, but on the journey you kind of have to assess yourself and jot down and fill out a workbook, and you also collect what they call raw data. And that comes from people in your life that know you, that might work, know your work, or. Just what you do day to day or just different, you kind of can connect with some different folks to send you what they've observed of you. And one of the quotes that I really liked about that raw data is they said a lot of people will go their entire lives and the only time they hear feedback about themselves is either at a wedding. Or at their funeral, and obviously the funeral does not help. And I thought, Hmm, that's interesting. And so I did really enjoy collecting raw data and hearing what folks observed about me. But the course goes on to then. Make you really dive deeper and say if somebody said you are skilled or talented in this area, you have to sort of try to see through their lenses what made them think that, and why are you wired to actually do that, like. Because just because somebody observes you doing something doesn't actually mean that you are that way, but they're seeing something. So you're supposed to try to figure out what is it internally that they saw you doing that made them say those words. So that was like kind of interesting. And really in conclusion, the course, it gave me a lot of clarity and it confirmed some things that I, I did already know. But one really great takeaway was. As you get more clarity, I've spoken several times about the importance of saying no. It really helps me fine tune and say no all the more so I can focus on what I should be doing, what my unique ability is, what brings me joy. It's really kind of, um, and the, I'll summarize unique ability. Everybody has one and it should check two specific boxes. One, you should be excellent at it. Two, it should bring a, like a passion or excitement in your life. So you might be excellent at something, but actually hate doing it. So it has to do both of those. And one way to define if it brings a passion to your life is. It kind of becomes, you lose track of time, so you're so kind of caught up in the task that, you know, five hours could go by and you thought just 10 minutes went by. So anyway, those were kind of some of the criteria. And as this year progresses, I actually am. It started me down this journey of, there's been something that I've kind of thought of for the last couple years and finishing this unique ability kind of brought this idea or project up and I was like, oh yeah, this is the next step after this course. I really need to pursue it. So. I just wanna wrap up by saying everyone has a unique ability. It's so great to invest in yourself and kind of dive a little deeper to see if you're not sure, to sort of look a little deeper at what your God-given talents are, where your passions are, and, and figure out ways that you can utilize that and ideally also create revenue. So that's kind of part of it. There's a revenue aspect where. Do things you enjoy, but also that create a paycheck in a sense. So I hope this was helpful. If you're interested in finding out about the course, send me a message and have a great day. I'm so glad that you joined me today. If you have found this helpful or just enjoyed following along, it would be a huge blessing to me if you like and subscribe to this podcast. Thanks.
