72 - Run This Town: The Rob Ford Saga with Jeremy Appel
Show Notes

Rob Ford will endure throughout the ages as a beautiful, ghastly tire fire that made the world stop and laugh at the City of Toronto. How do we consider his legacy in the intervening years from his death to his brother’s premiership? The film Run This Town examines the media culture and work environments of millennial journalists, and the chaotic and fearful City Hall ran by Ford. Is it good? What can we learn from Ford Nation? And is Rob Ford more of a Homer Simpson or Peter Griffin? Journalist and podcaster Jeremy Appel (@JeremyAppel1025) joins us this week to look back on the legacy of Rob Ford.

Notes:
1. We didn't get to it on the show, but this Canadaland article is a great read for understanding how the media reacted to the crack scandal.
2. Kevin Spacey refuses to take a photo with Doug Ford.
