00:00:17.480 welcome to the gateless podcast this is
00:00:20.320 a solo episode today and since I'm solo
00:00:24.640 I will reintroduce myself I'm Kara I am
00:00:28.160 a co-host of the gateless podcast and I
00:00:32.640 have built my career the last decade in
00:00:35.879 Tech sales in hypergrowth startups and
00:00:39.960 I've done everything from being the
00:00:41.960 first sales rep at a small startup to
00:00:46.320 scaling in sales leadership past 200 300
00:00:50.879 million companies that are growing
00:00:53.239 rapidly so I've been in corporate my
00:00:56.160 whole career I started at a job that
00:00:59.480 sucked my soul out and left very quickly
00:01:01.719 and then pivoted to the startup world
00:01:04.239 that has been a lot more fulfilling to
00:01:05.720 me through this journey I learned a lot
00:01:07.880 about myself and the biggest thing is
00:01:10.759 that I really have gotten where I am
00:01:13.759 today by by way of other women helping
00:01:17.280 me and on opening doors for me and
00:01:20.240 unlocking secrets and hacks that you
00:01:22.880 just aren't going to be told typically
00:01:25.360 and so the purpose of the gateless
00:01:27.759 podcast is to open the gates and open
00:01:30.600 the doors to conversations and topics
00:01:32.920 that really move the needle for people
00:01:34.640 in professional growth personal growth
00:01:36.600 entrepreneurial growth and so today's
00:01:39.439 episode is a solo and you know I've been
00:01:42.720 reflecting a lot at the end of the year
00:01:45.680 and starting to set my intentions for
00:01:48.200 next year for anybody that's also
00:01:50.479 reflecting on
00:01:52.280 2023 and if you're interested in setting
00:01:54.960 intentions for the new year this episode
00:01:56.960 is for you I'm going to share my 10
00:01:59.520 intentions itions and the tips that I
00:02:05.079 took myself to to start setting my own
00:02:08.080 intentions for
00:02:09.399 2024 I actually created a workbook too
00:02:12.959 so that you can steal my process steal
00:02:15.120 my intentions if you want and this
00:02:17.360 workbook will really help you get clear
00:02:19.800 on how to do a structured reflection
00:02:22.480 process and then also take that
00:02:24.319 reflection and turn it into intentions
00:02:26.400 and goals for for 2024 so to get the
00:02:29.200 workbook go to the Instagram page
00:02:32.160 gateless pod in the story highlights
00:02:35.720 you'll see a place to request access to
00:02:39.120 the workbook okay so let's before we get
00:02:41.959 into me telling you about my intentions
00:02:44.720 let's talk about the importance of
00:02:46.480 intention setting and reflecting so the
00:02:50.000 importance of reflecting is really
00:02:52.360 acknowledging and appreciating
00:02:54.360 self-growth and achievements across the
00:02:57.480 year learning from your challenge es and
00:03:01.519 enhancing your self-awareness like
00:03:04.040 identifying the limiting beliefs that
00:03:05.560 you had last year that held you back so
00:03:07.920 I think it's a fundamental process to go
00:03:09.680 through first in doing your Reflections
00:03:11.480 before you start intention setting so
00:03:13.599 you can take what you learned the
00:03:15.480 experiences that you went through what
00:03:16.920 what well what what did what did not go
00:03:18.879 well where you felt most authentically
00:03:21.000 yourself where you didn't feel like
00:03:22.680 yourself and then take that as the
00:03:24.959 foundation to setting your intentions
00:03:27.680 the importance of intention setting I
00:03:29.799 mean there's so many but it creates
00:03:31.720 focus and direction for your year which
00:03:34.439 you can break down into daily practice
00:03:36.760 it's like your North Star in your
00:03:38.200 Guiding Light for the year that you can
00:03:40.319 break down into tiny digestible actions
00:03:44.239 that you can do and form habits around
00:03:46.439 every single day
00:03:49.480 creating intentions with a purpose is so
00:03:53.000 important so when you reflect first your
00:03:56.480 intentions become anchored and oriented
00:03:59.879 around the goals that you have for
00:04:01.120 yourself based on what you noticed in
00:04:03.840 your previous year and then the final
00:04:06.040 thing in the importance of intention
00:04:08.159 setting is around personal growth it is
00:04:10.920 so attractive when somebody is focused
00:04:14.640 on personal growth you attract
00:04:17.079 like-minded people and it's inspiring
00:04:22.000 engaging and attractive to be around
00:04:24.040 people that are also focused on
00:04:25.880 bettering themselves and personal growth
00:04:28.080 and it setting intentions as a place to
00:04:30.240 start putting that energy out into the
00:04:31.800 world I'll share a bit about my
00:04:33.080 reflection process from last year this
00:04:35.840 past year brought a lot of successes a
00:04:39.160 lot of brought a lot of happy moments a
00:04:41.039 lot of first it also brought some tough
00:04:43.639 experiences for me a lot of which I
00:04:45.880 didn't really realize were so tough as I
00:04:47.800 was going through them but in my
00:04:49.199 reflection I realized that they they
00:04:51.120 were pretty tough moments it was my
00:04:53.240 first full year of motherhood and that
00:04:57.039 presented some challenges even in my
00:04:59.120 marriage and navigating our partnership
00:05:01.440 and how to balance the obligations we
00:05:04.039 have to our son and our family and also
00:05:06.919 the obligations we have to our big jobs
00:05:09.600 and figuring out how to operate from the
00:05:12.479 same value system on how to use our time
00:05:15.360 was friction full and it was tough and I
00:05:18.560 didn't realize how tough and painful or
00:05:20.400 why it was tough and painful at the time
00:05:22.319 but that was a big one for me there was
00:05:24.400 some interesting Evolutions in
00:05:26.520 friendships that I have and reached a
00:05:30.039 point of burnout that I never thought
00:05:31.720 that I would reach I left a job I
00:05:34.600 started a new job I started a podcast
00:05:38.360 and really and most importantly I felt
00:05:40.960 like towards the end of this year I
00:05:44.080 started to feel and act like the most
00:05:47.639 authentic version of myself that I
00:05:50.080 probably ever have before and reflecting
00:05:54.360 back part of the Year felt like it was
00:05:56.479 just happening to me I was just reacting
00:05:58.960 I didn't have a lot of control and
00:06:00.600 intentionality in what I was doing I was
00:06:02.800 just reacting and trying to keep up with
00:06:05.199 everything all of the things and I hate
00:06:08.440 that feeling and so that is why
00:06:11.240 intention setting for me into 2024 is so
00:06:15.440 so important so that I can not not take
00:06:19.440 control because that's that's a fallacy
00:06:21.960 I could never take control but I can at
00:06:24.680 least have purpose and intentionality in
00:06:28.240 the way that I'm living my life and
00:06:29.880 that's the reason that setting
00:06:31.800 intentions are so important at this time
00:06:34.000 of the year to kick off your new year in
00:06:36.599 a clear and focused
00:06:38.240 way so this is the era of being me
00:06:42.000 letting myself really shine and become
00:06:43.919 everything that I'm supposed to be and
00:06:45.680 I'm going to clearly Define all of those
00:06:47.800 things in the intentions so again I
00:06:50.440 created a workbook to help you reflect
00:06:53.599 and set your own intentions to get it go
00:06:55.639 to gateless pod on Instagram and find in
00:06:58.960 the story highlight the place to request
00:07:01.000 access to it and we'll send it to
00:07:03.560 you number one intention for 2024
00:07:07.520 shedding the outdated personality traits
00:07:10.759 this is about recognizing and letting go
00:07:13.639 of those traits that no longer represent
00:07:15.560 who you are today this type of growth
00:07:17.919 means evolving past our former selves or
00:07:22.680 personal evolution in general
00:07:25.840 when how you portray yourself to others
00:07:29.639 actually how you feel inside you'll have
00:07:32.199 improved relationships improved
00:07:34.759 self-confidence improved mental and
00:07:37.120 emotional health overall the goal is
00:07:40.599 alignment and Harmony between your
00:07:42.400 thoughts your beliefs and your actions
00:07:45.000 and those things are not static so your
00:07:47.240 personality and who you are shouldn't be
00:07:49.159 static either they change and evolve as
00:07:51.800 should
00:07:52.800 you for me I'm moving past and shedding
00:07:58.000 the trait of being a people pleaser I
00:08:00.759 don't want to be a people pleaser
00:08:02.639 anymore I've I've outgrown that and it
00:08:05.080 no longer fits who I am I don't want to
00:08:07.400 be somebody with walls up out of
00:08:10.720 protection that is hard to get to know
00:08:13.039 hard to get close to hard to give and
00:08:16.240 receive love and it doesn't feel like me
00:08:18.960 anymore it's not me anymore I I don't
00:08:21.319 want to be self-sufficient at all costs
00:08:23.440 anymore I'm okay with needing help and
00:08:26.639 needing support and there's no badge of
00:08:30.639 honor for doing everything myself and so
00:08:33.799 I'm shedding that that's not me and it
00:08:36.120 doesn't feel like me it hasn't for a
00:08:38.399 while number two is use my
00:08:42.559 voice we've been taught especially as
00:08:45.480 women to be easy be nice be the nice
00:08:49.040 girl and in a lot of cases that really
00:08:51.760 has a negative impact on how we use our
00:08:54.880 voices and using your voice is a form of
00:08:58.440 showing self-respect and authenticity to
00:09:01.880 yourself it's a form of boundary setting
00:09:04.760 and helps build your self-confidence too
00:09:08.200 I don't mean using your voice in a
00:09:09.760 hurtful or malicious way I mean using
00:09:12.600 your voice in a real kind way to make
00:09:15.320 your points known and be okay with
00:09:18.040 people hearing what you think and
00:09:19.839 knowing what you stand for it's it's an
00:09:23.160 amazing thing to get comfortable doing
00:09:25.800 and it's a beautiful form of self Lov
00:09:28.880 and self-respect to use your
00:09:32.079 voice I realized that I wasn't speaking
00:09:36.120 up in certain situations and it was
00:09:39.640 leaving me
00:09:40.920 feeling resentful of myself and not
00:09:43.800 proud of myself and the the thought of
00:09:47.560 like how soul sucking is it when you are
00:09:51.480 thinking something and you don't say it
00:09:53.240 out loud and you find out after the fact
00:09:56.240 that you were right and you could have
00:09:57.399 made a difference and if you had SP
00:09:59.120 spoken up you could have changed the
00:10:00.839 outcome or the trajectory or the impact
00:10:02.760 that it had on somebody else and using
00:10:06.079 your voice other people do plenty of
00:10:08.160 other people use their voice and and I
00:10:11.120 deserve to use my voice too so I'm
00:10:13.760 bringing that into
00:10:15.720 2024 number three trust
00:10:19.000 myself trusting yourself is really about
00:10:23.600 relying and believing in your own
00:10:26.560 judgment your own critical thinking your
00:10:28.440 own instinct
00:10:29.760 even when they go against the grain I've
00:10:32.399 talked a few times about gut feelings
00:10:34.839 vers critical thinking and it's really
00:10:37.399 both at play trusting yourself is
00:10:39.040 trusting both of those things someone
00:10:41.200 who knows themsel and trusts themsel is
00:10:43.760 a decisive person that is very
00:10:46.279 attractive energy to be
00:10:48.600 around learning to trust yourself and
00:10:51.360 your instincts is so critical and it's
00:10:54.200 something that I'm bringing into the new
00:10:55.639 year because I haven't shown myself that
00:10:58.560 in a consistent way in the past so in
00:11:01.519 2024 I'm going to trust myself more than
00:11:04.320 I trust anyone else trusting my gut
00:11:07.240 trusting my critical thinking trusting
00:11:09.040 my intelligence not letting other
00:11:10.720 people's opinions Cloud how I feel
00:11:14.240 because only I'm the one I'm the only
00:11:16.639 one that knows what's best for me and
00:11:19.320 what's right for me and I'm going to
00:11:20.920 give myself that Grace and appreciation
00:11:24.880 that you know I know myself I trust
00:11:27.399 myself and I'm going to be Ive in
00:11:29.440 knowing what is what is right for me and
00:11:31.320 I'm not going to question it and I'm not
00:11:32.440 going to let other people's opinions and
00:11:34.360 words Cloud that for
00:11:36.959 myself number four is be Limitless this
00:11:41.240 is about not being confined to a single
00:11:43.680 Identity or being put in a box Breaking
00:11:47.320 Free from limitations is about not
00:11:50.680 allowing yourself to be confined to a
00:11:53.120 single Identity or role imposed by
00:11:56.079 others somebody else typically when you
00:11:58.200 feel like you're being being put in a
00:11:59.639 box it's because others want to know
00:12:01.519 what to expect from you and that's out
00:12:03.320 of their own Comfort if you're being
00:12:05.360 made to feel like you can't be this
00:12:07.240 because you're this that's not because
00:12:10.320 of you that's because of somebody else
00:12:12.040 you can't be a thriving corporate girl
00:12:14.399 and also be an entrepreneur and a mom
00:12:17.240 that's an
00:12:18.079 example it's probably because somebody
00:12:20.360 else has limiting beliefs or has fear of
00:12:23.440 the unknown or they're seeking control
00:12:25.959 and you're throwing them off in my
00:12:28.160 opinion being
00:12:29.920 multifaceted is amazing and intriguing I
00:12:33.199 am I am so attracted to people who have
00:12:36.320 a multi-dimensional personality they've
00:12:38.480 got a lot going on they're not so easy
00:12:41.000 to figure out you know somebody that is
00:12:45.160 amazing at public speaking but is so
00:12:47.399 introverted and whatever it is like just
00:12:50.720 multifaceted is an amazing thing and
00:12:53.800 believing that you can live a life
00:12:55.600 limitlessly and not be confined to one
00:12:58.000 single identity
00:12:59.399 is an amazing unlock for allowing
00:13:01.880 yourself to be everything that you
00:13:03.079 should become an example for me is I'm
00:13:05.800 not just a successful sales person sales
00:13:10.000 leader I am a mom I am a wife I am a
00:13:13.320 friend I am a daughter I am a sibling
00:13:15.079 I'm an athlete I'm a deep thinker and
00:13:17.680 now I'm a podcaster I'm really into
00:13:20.240 cosmic energy and astrology I am so
00:13:23.160 interested in health and wellness and
00:13:26.440 Longevity and biohacking I love doing
00:13:30.160 deep research on things and reading a
00:13:32.120 ton and educating myself I'm so deeply
00:13:34.519 committed to self-growth and
00:13:36.240 self-discovery I have a huge passion for
00:13:38.360 elevating women I can be all of those
00:13:40.440 things I don't have to be any single one
00:13:42.600 or two of them and I'm a lot more
00:13:45.199 introverted than a lot of people realize
00:13:46.839 I need a ton of alone time to recharge
00:13:49.600 and embracing that as well as the fact
00:13:52.240 that I have this career in sales where I
00:13:53.680 have to talk to people all day is okay
00:13:55.800 I'm bringing that energy into 2024 I'm
00:13:57.759 living limitlessly and I'm not going to
00:13:59.360 be confined to a single identity I'm
00:14:02.680 nurturing all of those aspects of me
00:14:04.519 this
00:14:05.880 year number
00:14:08.360 five prioritize my comfort what I mean
00:14:12.759 by this is making sure your own comfort
00:14:15.800 in a situation is valued just as much as
00:14:18.120 the next person for example if you don't
00:14:20.759 agree with something that was said or it
00:14:23.639 was inappropriate or sketchy and you
00:14:25.720 brush it off and laugh or you just stay
00:14:29.000 silent as to not make that other person
00:14:31.680 uncomfortable instead of saying what you
00:14:34.240 really want to say which is oh wow I
00:14:37.279 actually don't agree with that help me
00:14:39.560 understand your perspective I think
00:14:40.800 we're really far apart in how we think
00:14:42.399 about this or oh wow that's probably
00:14:45.399 pretty hurtful to some people have you
00:14:47.399 thought about how that makes them
00:14:49.639 feel by holding silence really what
00:14:52.800 you're doing is reinforcing negative
00:14:54.440 behavior which is a missed opportunity
00:14:56.399 for the other person to grow and it's
00:14:58.880 really continuing to make yourself
00:15:00.360 uncomfortable not to mention those are
00:15:03.079 probably pretty unfulfilling
00:15:04.600 relationships you have with people where
00:15:06.160 you feel like you're constantly doing
00:15:07.519 this you're making yourself feel
00:15:09.079 uncomfortable as to not make them feel
00:15:10.880 uncomfortable so this is not the vibe
00:15:14.800 for 2024 this really actually happened
00:15:17.360 to me a lot when I became a mom people
00:15:19.759 were very quick to tell me what was
00:15:21.800 going to happen how I was going to feel
00:15:24.160 what my child was going to do what my
00:15:26.160 relationship with my husband was going
00:15:27.560 to look like how it was going to
00:15:28.720 involved and a lot of those things
00:15:30.519 didn't actually pan out that way they
00:15:32.440 didn't feel authentic to me and instead
00:15:34.839 of saying hey you know I appreciate the
00:15:38.279 advice or I appreciate that but that's
00:15:40.360 not the experience that I'm having right
00:15:41.880 now I really want to hold space for
00:15:43.240 myself to have my own experience and I
00:15:45.800 want this to involve evolve and unfold
00:15:47.839 for myself um without without like
00:15:50.639 having some expectation of how it's
00:15:52.040 going to become thank you though I
00:15:53.480 didn't say it because I didn't want to
00:15:54.680 make anybody feel uncomfortable these
00:15:56.000 are all well-intended people in my life
00:15:58.199 but I didn't say it because I didn't
00:15:59.519 want to make them uncomfortable and it
00:16:00.759 didn't feel good after the fact and I
00:16:02.000 just like I had to be silent I'm not
00:16:03.880 doing that anymore number six
00:16:08.759 manifesting my desires and my
00:16:11.480 reality so
00:16:14.079 manifestation is about attracting what
00:16:16.440 you focus on what you think about what
00:16:19.319 you say all of it manifesting is a
00:16:21.720 practice of focusing on what you want to
00:16:24.079 bring into your life whether it's
00:16:26.040 specific goals desires intentions the
00:16:28.959 law of attraction is real and it works
00:16:32.920 and what you put out into the universe
00:16:36.279 is what you attract and it's what
00:16:38.920 becomes your reality and whether you
00:16:41.680 believe you will succeed or you believe
00:16:44.279 you will fail you're right either one
00:16:47.319 you believe you're right and that's why
00:16:49.600 it is so important to stay focused on
00:16:53.440 the energy intention words that you
00:16:56.519 speak that you write and make sure that
00:16:58.519 that they are aligned with the reality
00:17:02.079 that you desire manifesting in the law
00:17:04.240 of attraction is real it's important and
00:17:08.079 I think everybody should should think
00:17:10.559 like this and start incorporating it
00:17:11.959 into their
00:17:12.919 intentions I use a mantra whenever I
00:17:16.799 have to go somewhere to park I say
00:17:19.039 parking spots are in abundance parking
00:17:20.520 spots are in abundance parking spots are
00:17:22.079 in abundance and it works I I am never
00:17:24.760 the person that can't find parking and I
00:17:27.520 give my husband bunch of grief about
00:17:29.160 this because he's the person that before
00:17:30.960 we even leave the house if we're going
00:17:32.559 somewhere crowded he's like oh my gosh
00:17:34.039 we're never going to find parking why
00:17:35.200 are we even going and I'm like you know
00:17:37.320 what you are right if you talk like that
00:17:39.320 you are absolutely right we're not going
00:17:40.360 to find parking so either start saying
00:17:42.880 the Mantra of parking spots are in
00:17:44.600 abundance or stay home because I believe
00:17:48.280 that we're going to manifest those
00:17:49.480 parking spots and that's a silly example
00:17:51.120 but it is a real example and it's about
00:17:53.240 the energy that you put into the
00:17:54.360 universe is the energy that you're going
00:17:55.640 to get
00:17:57.400 back number seven say no a lot more than
00:18:01.880 I say yes when I think about the amount
00:18:05.240 of time I have and the way I value my
00:18:06.880 time this becomes very important
00:18:09.799 so back to the thought of living life
00:18:13.600 intentionally and not just letting it
00:18:15.520 happen to you being able to make space
00:18:17.840 for the things you actually want to do
00:18:19.600 is a critical first step in that and to
00:18:21.280 do so you have to say no and you got to
00:18:24.480 start there you got to start saying no
00:18:26.120 more you can only be present and engaged
00:18:29.520 in the things that matter most if you
00:18:31.480 make room for those yeses and there's
00:18:33.480 not a lot of room for yeses for the
00:18:35.200 things that you want to do if you're
00:18:36.799 saying yes to everything if everything
00:18:39.520 is important then nothing is important
00:18:41.799 so saying yes should be reserved for the
00:18:44.640 opportunities and commitments that align
00:18:47.080 with your goals if it isn't a true
00:18:49.360 obligation I don't really want to do it
00:18:51.640 for me in my happiness and it isn't
00:18:54.200 helping me achieve my
00:18:56.760 goals it's going to be know for me dog I
00:19:00.120 want to draw harder lines and save space
00:19:04.000 for the things I actually want to do
00:19:05.440 truly saying no in 2024 is my vibe I am
00:19:09.520 all about valuing my time not saying yes
00:19:12.120 to everything at my own expense and
00:19:14.520 cherishing the moments and being present
00:19:16.360 in the things that I can say yes
00:19:19.000 to number eight stay
00:19:23.240 delusional and a lot of people have said
00:19:25.280 this if you're ain't delusional you
00:19:27.440 ain't living so I'm I'm saying it again
00:19:29.840 I love it I live my life by it and I
00:19:33.120 think I lost it a little bit last year I
00:19:34.880 got a little too practical for my own
00:19:38.200 good and I want to get back to that
00:19:39.840 delusional way of living embracing
00:19:41.960 delusion in a positive way really just
00:19:44.400 means allowing yourself to dream big and
00:19:47.559 Chase seemingly impossible
00:19:50.559 goals in order to chase those seemingly
00:19:53.320 impossible goals sometimes you have to
00:19:55.400 not overthink it if you knew all the
00:19:57.679 reasons that that you would fail and you
00:19:59.679 knew the odds of succeeding you probably
00:20:02.360 wouldn't do it so stay delusional dream
00:20:05.640 big and keep chasing them every single
00:20:08.200 day there's an example even with this
00:20:11.720 podcast I used a connection that I have
00:20:15.799 to get in touch with a guest a really
00:20:18.120 really well-known guest that I wanted to
00:20:19.919 have on this podcast in
00:20:21.799 2024 and I thought it was I was like oh
00:20:24.080 I'm being so creative I bet a lot of
00:20:26.559 people haven't tapped this angle I'm
00:20:28.600 going to use my network and go through a
00:20:30.720 first-degree connection to get to that
00:20:32.080 second degree connection and I did it it
00:20:35.520 worked we've got the guest set up and
00:20:38.840 locked for next year and it wasn't until
00:20:41.600 like last week actually I was having a
00:20:43.159 conversation with this person that I
00:20:44.320 asked to introduce me and they were like
00:20:46.200 yeah I don't really do that a ton of
00:20:48.039 people ask me but I really don't do that
00:20:50.280 I just made an exception in this
00:20:51.600 instance because I really care about
00:20:52.760 what you guys are doing and if I would
00:20:54.679 have known that tons of people ask for
00:20:57.679 an INT
00:20:58.880 through this person I probably wouldn't
00:21:00.240 have done it cuz I would have felt
00:21:01.120 awkward and I would have felt like I was
00:21:03.520 just another one trying to get there and
00:21:07.159 I'm so glad I didn't know I'm so glad I
00:21:08.520 was delusional in that because I would
00:21:09.840 not have shot my shot another way that
00:21:12.919 we do this is shoot your shot Friday
00:21:16.720 like stay delusional send the email that
00:21:18.760 feels like it'll never get responded to
00:21:21.320 because hey it might probably it will
00:21:24.039 actually because you're putting that
00:21:25.200 positive energy into the universe and
00:21:27.039 you're manifesting the outcome you want
00:21:28.559 through delusion I'm just kidding but
00:21:30.520 you get what I mean like this is so this
00:21:32.240 is so important and I think sometimes we
00:21:34.600 overthink we get too rational we get too
00:21:36.559 practical and there is a time and a
00:21:38.600 place for all of that I am all of those
00:21:40.640 things but when it comes to your goals
00:21:43.200 and allowing yourself to dream really
00:21:45.159 big a little bit of delusion is healthy
00:21:48.600 number nine
00:21:50.760 is just start don't wait to be ready
00:21:54.000 just
00:21:54.960 start so who has MA as
00:21:59.200 procrastination in the form of
00:22:01.720 researching or preparing and all it does
00:22:05.240 is Just Cause in action I definitely
00:22:08.360 have and I feel the need most times to
00:22:12.640 be very very prepared before I do
00:22:14.559 anything I have historically looked at
00:22:16.559 that as like a badge of honor if I'm
00:22:18.960 prepared I will get the outcome if you
00:22:21.240 fail to prepare you prepare to fail that
00:22:23.720 kind of vibe was ingrained in my brain
00:22:26.240 and it's caused some analysis paralysis
00:22:28.919 before and you know when you when you
00:22:34.159 just begin something you evolve through
00:22:37.320 action as opposed to hoping to evolve
00:22:41.080 through inaction which is really what
00:22:43.200 we're doing when we sit around and
00:22:44.840 research and prepare and do all the
00:22:46.840 things we think we need to do before we
00:22:48.360 actually start something and it's just
00:22:50.320 not the vibe for 2024 begin before you
00:22:53.039 feel like you're ready because you'll
00:22:54.600 evolve at a much faster rate than if you
00:22:58.000 keep waiting and waiting and waiting to
00:22:59.520 do something until you feel totally
00:23:00.960 ready you're never going to feel totally
00:23:02.520 ready I started posting on Tik Tok in
00:23:05.600 the last couple of weeks because I knew
00:23:08.400 I was bad at it I knew I was going to
00:23:09.960 pay the suck tax and I didn't care I
00:23:12.320 could start I found myself reading how
00:23:15.320 to understand the Tik Tok algorithms how
00:23:17.799 to go viral on Tik Tok how to format a
00:23:19.799 successful Tik Tok video I was reading
00:23:21.640 all the stuff and by the way they all
00:23:23.320 say different and so instead of sitting
00:23:26.480 around anding to read and research I
00:23:29.559 just started to go for it Haley gave me
00:23:31.720 some feedback and told me I could do do
00:23:33.760 things differently which I really
00:23:34.960 appreciate I just went for it and that's
00:23:38.120 what you got to do so again shoot your
00:23:41.200 shop Fridays just you don't have to be
00:23:44.360 prepared the email doesn't have to be
00:23:45.799 perfect just do it just send it just
00:23:48.440 start you will get better slowly you
00:23:50.360 will evolve faster than if you wait to
00:23:52.640 be
00:23:53.720 ready and the
00:23:56.320 final intention for 2024 is love and
00:24:01.760 appreciate
00:24:03.480 myself this is not a revolutionary
00:24:05.679 concept but self-love is the foundation
00:24:09.440 of personal growth it's really hard to
00:24:12.159 accomplish growth in yourself growth in
00:24:14.720 your relationships friendships family
00:24:17.600 when you aren't showing yourself love
00:24:19.360 and you aren't appreciating yourself
00:24:21.880 this year I learned to appreciate myself
00:24:25.720 more than I ever have before the things
00:24:28.559 that I used to try to hide or I was
00:24:31.760 embarrassed to show I've really started
00:24:34.799 to appreciate and I barely scratch the
00:24:36.640 surface of what I could do that's why
00:24:38.000 it's an intention for me for 2024 but
00:24:40.919 appreciating my Curious nature my
00:24:43.200 achievements my journey and all of its
00:24:45.960 nuances and uniqueness is helping me be
00:24:49.960 better for those around me and I could
00:24:53.080 do a lot more one of the ways that I
00:24:55.360 show myself love is through setting
00:24:57.840 boundaries speaking up doing all the
00:25:01.200 things that I just listed one through
00:25:02.720 nine in my intentions if I follow
00:25:05.159 through on those things that's a form of
00:25:07.559 loving myself and appreciating myself
00:25:09.919 and I think it's going to help me
00:25:11.919 nurture the relationships I have and
00:25:13.919 they'll flourish because of it the
00:25:15.559 relationships I have with everyone else
00:25:17.200 but most importantly the relationship
00:25:18.679 that I have with
00:25:21.159 myself there you have it 1 through 10 my
00:25:24.559 intentions for 2024 if you're going to
00:25:27.559 get started in your reflection process
00:25:30.120 here are three tips that you can start
00:25:32.480 today and also go to gateless pod on
00:25:36.640 Instagram find in the story highlights
00:25:40.200 the workbook the intention intention
00:25:42.360 setting workbook and request access and
00:25:45.000 that's what you can do from here to get
00:25:47.159 started on your Reflections and your
00:25:48.640 intentions but three tips you can do
00:25:50.880 today reflect before setting your
00:25:53.159 intentions you can start reflecting just
00:25:55.919 by listening to this podcast going on a
00:25:58.559 walk journaling a little bit reflect on
00:26:00.640 your year I went back to starting in
00:26:03.399 January in my calendar of last year and
00:26:05.640 I looked at every month and reminded
00:26:08.240 myself of everything that happened what
00:26:09.640 went well what didn't go well how did I
00:26:11.440 feel during that time wrote it all down
00:26:14.640 that was my reflection process tip
00:26:17.120 number two be specific in your
00:26:19.480 intentions if you make really vague
00:26:22.000 intentions like be happy or be positive
00:26:26.200 you're going to have vague results you
00:26:27.720 got to get specific in the intention
00:26:29.399 setting process and this will be easier
00:26:31.240 if you reflect first because you'll
00:26:32.840 start to understand themes in how you
00:26:35.360 feel in that exercise of going month
00:26:38.159 over month tip number
00:26:40.640 three align your intentions with your
00:26:43.799 goals and your values your intention
00:26:46.399 should be anchored in the person you
00:26:49.159 want to become the things you want to
00:26:51.279 achieve your intentions are tools to
00:26:53.880 help you achieve those things there are
00:26:55.840 tools to help you become that person so
00:26:58.240 think about setting your intentions that
00:27:02.080 way to summarize I gave you my one
00:27:05.679 through 10 steal them if they're helpful
00:27:07.480 to you the ask here is just start
00:27:10.480 reflecting and setting your own
00:27:11.520 intentions for next year because it's
00:27:13.000 going to help you live a much more
00:27:15.320 focused calm intentional life in 2024
00:27:19.919 you will be aligned with your authentic
00:27:22.159 self you'll be aligned with your goals
00:27:24.559 and I think at the end of the year if
00:27:26.159 you do this practice at the end of next
00:27:28.000 year if you do this practice you're
00:27:29.159 going to look back and be amazed at
00:27:31.000 everything that you accomplished and the
00:27:32.360 personal growth that you
00:27:35.000 realized if you enjoyed this episode we
