This podcast is Faith Walk, and I'm your host, don Carpenter. Today I'm going to minister and speak and encourage and strengthen you regarding your faith. The thought that I want you to think about is abounding in faith. When we think of abounding, you are deliberately going to walk by faith. You're not going to be hesitant. You're not going to be weak, you're going to be strong and you're going to go forth in God's plan and purpose for you. You're facing the day. God provided you with the ability and strength to reach out to Him and to believe for your miracle. Today I'm going to be reading to you from the second chapter of the Corinthians.
Speaker 1:
When we read this word, therefore as ye abound in everything, in faith, in utterance, in knowledge, in all diligence, right here we have the key to be able to abound and how to abound and the steps to abound and what is required to abound. When we look at faith, that means things which are impossible with men or possible with God. You may have the gift of faith within you, but you certainly have the ability to move by faith. We find here that to engage or to be deliberate with our faith, we have to utter, we have to speak a life word into the situation. There can be nothing there to look at another choice or another option. Faith is faith and there is not a second option. When you're moving by faith, engage, you're aware and conscious of what you have to do, you're determined, you've already studied it out, and diligently. It means that you're going to speedily walk toward it, you're going to speedily engage, you're going to speedily be deliberate. I have found my experience in my life. I have found that when I ask the Lord for direction and the Lord speaks to me, I know that it's the direction the Holy Spirit speaks to me. I believe that speed is critical. I believe that striving and promoting, pressing in it's necessary for the victory you will become. This is an old, true saying what your tongue says about you, what your tongue is going to say about this situation, because the heart knows what is necessary and the tongue is going to speak it and bring it from the invisible to the invisible.
Speaker 1:
You might have had many past disappointments. We all have unfulfilled expectations. I'm confident of that. But our lives will only be imprisoned if we dwell upon that. There's no hope of us ever coming out. And when you look back on your past expectations and they didn't work out the way you felt they should have worked out, and if you dwell upon that, it's only going to continue to be with empty and nothing is going to be working and you're going to feel like you're always a failure and the enemy is going to play on that. It's just going to continue to hold you back. You have no vision for your future. That's what happens when we dwell upon unfulfilled expectations.

You know God has great plans for us, according to Jeremiah 29 and 11. God has a plan for you. Today, and no doubt when you're in prayer, no doubt when you were waiting before the Lord on this matter, the Holy Spirit has already spoken to you and you're thinking oh, that would be wonderful. Oh, that's something that I need. I really wish that this would happen. Listen, faith is already there. Activate it, start moving forward. Remember what I said holding on to your past failures, okay. That will prevent you from going into your now, into what God wants to accomplish with you right now.

And when we move by faith, we have to trust in the reality of the supernatural. Either it's God. Either God is God, or else we're allowing something else to be God in our lives. We can't depend upon men. Thank God for all the people in our lives that help us. But you know, sometimes they will look at us and they will say to us you can't do that, or that's not for you, or that's never been done. Do not allow the enemy to rob from you because you are moving by faith. Remember, you're being deliberate in your engagement, you're speaking the word of life when you utter it out and you're being diligent. That means speedily, you're going to be about it. And when it talks about a bounding in faith, it doesn't just mean some mediocre or just some acceptable or just up to the mark. It means super abounding, it means excelling, it means going over the top. When you go over the top in your confidence and in your faith, you're going to find quite quickly that you're going to have to start running to keep up to what God's doing in your life.

I have found that the word of life which we use when we exercise faith, that this is creative words. These are creative words. These are words that, as we speak, they create. You don't just say, oh, I wish. No, you say I decree, I declare it is so. Ephesians 3.20 is a great encouragement. It says you'll do exceedingly, above all, that we can ask or think according to the power that worketh in us. God's Holy Spirit powers working in you and you are releasing your faith. Do you know that your faith is absolutely essential in your growth and in your development and in what you require from the Lord?
Speaker 1:
Jesus talked to me Remember I just spoke about this a few weeks ago. Remember, in the boat and the storm, and the disciples couldn't handle it and they became frightened. What did Jesus say to them? Where is your faith, you know? And then there was people he would heal and he would make comments to them. He'd say I've never seen such great faith Like these are people who are exercising something that's above and beyond where they're finding themselves. Don't be conformed to this world. Don't be conformed to this world's thinking. There are many truths, there are deep treasures in faith that the world has very little grasp of. But there are people of God, spirit-filled people of God, that have a great understanding, have a great grasp on this wonderful truth and something that's called faith.
Speaker 1:
So when you get ready to exercise in your faith and the enemy sees or your flesh suddenly starts to rise above your confidence, starting to push and trying to pull down your faith. You know what you should do. Do not think of the negative. Cast that down. Don't listen to those who say that it can't be done. If you've heard from God, you are now going to start moving into the realm of abundance. You've risen above. You've risen above that just to have enough attitude, because when you and I need a miracle, we need to push and we need to speedily and excel and get into that realm that God has reserved for us.

I'm not conformed, I'm not held back by what man tells me or by what the world says or by what my past experience has been. I'm breaking free, I'm rising above. I cannot be held back because somebody else has been discouraged, they've listened to a lie, they think that it's not for them. That's not me. I have to have, I have to hang around, I have to believe. I have to be with people who have confidence in exercising their faith and people who listen to what I'm saying and people who are part of my weekly faith walk podcast. You are being strengthened and you're going to speak creatively into the situation.
Speaker 1:
Do you know that words give life to thoughts? We get thoughts in the back of our head and stuff tries to creep in, listen. When I have a God thought and when God has inspired me something, I have to start bringing that forth quickly and I will declare it and I will say it out loud. I say by faith, I believe that I am healed in the name of Jesus. I'm going to step up in there and I'm going to make it mine.

Can I take you back to a place in Proverbs 18-20? Here's what it says A man's belly shall be satisfied with the fruit of his mouth, and with the increase of his lips shall he be filled. Let's look at it this way Out of your innermost being flows rivers of living water. Your innermost being is where our battles are formed. I'm going to be satisfied with the fruit of my mouth. In other words, I'm going to see the result of the fruit of my mouth. And it says in Proverbs 18-20, with the increase of my lips, the more that I speak it, I'm going to be filled.

Now let's look at the next verse, verse 21 of Proverbs 18. And it says Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and in this case it's your tongue. There's death and there's life there, and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof. But when you give your heart to Jesus, when you are filled with the Holy Ghost and when you are a believer, that's going to move by faith. The power that's in your tongue is the power, the words, creative words of life, and you're going to speak it and you're going to see the results, and you're going to eat the fruit and we're going to hang on to that. I'd rather believe God. If I have a choice, I would rather believe God and I'm going to not allow and let my mind go to this place that it's not going to happen. That's not an option. Faith doesn't say, well, let's give it a try. He says let's do it.
