I'm going to talk about healing. I'm going to talk about sickness. I'm going to talk about the power of faith. I'm going to talk about what Jesus is doing in the earth right now, and Satan and man cannot do anything to prevent it. No matter how great the persecution, no matter how great the controversy, the truth will always stand strong and free. And Jesus is the truth.

Jesus, Truth, And Controversy

SPEAKER_01

Luke chapter 10 or chapter 13, verses 10 through 17 is where I'm going to be ministering today. And among the religious, even in Jesus' day, Jesus would cause controversy whenever he would minister. The religious never liked it. They couldn't accept it. It hasn't changed today. We speak the word of the Lord, and it's still the same. The enemy will come against us, but we are doing what God tells us to do, and that is to preach the gospel and heal the sick. That is the kind of importance that the Holy Spirit places upon this gifting that we're to exercise, healing. Jesus practiced healing the sick during his ministry here on earth. He would minister and heal one or hundreds at a time. He would move in such a powerful way. We might say what kind of sickness is. In Matthew 9 35, it says that every kind of disease and every kind of sickness, we must believe. And we must believe that he has given us the power. Luke 6.19 said power was coming from him. That's why when we are filled with the Holy Spirit, when we have the Word of God and we speak the Word of God, the power comes from within us. Does the Bible not say that after that the Holy Ghost has come upon you, you shall receive power. We will walk in that power. Jesus said, I give you power. And how we connect with that power is we are filled with his Spirit, and we release that Holy Spirit with inside of us to the Lord Jesus, and we step out by faith, and we will see miracles come to pass.

Welcoming Healing With Expectation

SPEAKER_01

Another verse I'd like you to consider is in Luke chapter 8 and verse 40. The people waited and welcomed him. Luke 8, 40. They waited and they welcomed him. That's why when we come together, or whether we go to have someone minister healing to us, we welcome them to minister to us and we're ready to receive. When we go to the doctors, we will wait. It's a long while to get in. And when he or she shows up in the office, we welcome that moment, don't we? But the thing is, we believe that they're going to help us. And wouldn't it be wonderful if we could just grasp that concept when we come into the presence of the Lord? The Lord does not want his creation sick. In Acts 10, 38, the Bible says that Jesus went about doing good and healed all who were oppressed. So he handles all manner of sickness, all manner of disease, and he wants us to know that he's here to do us good. His heart's desire is to do us good. And I can think of nothing more good than to walk in health. I can think of nothing more good to occur in my life if I've been in pain of sickness and have that being totally set free from that sickness.

The Bent Woman And Infirmity

SPEAKER_01

In our story today, there's an account given by a lady who was a believer in God, and she was in the synagogue, just so happens that Jesus was teaching in one of the synagogues on the Sabbath. And there was a woman who for 18 years had a sickness caused by a spirit, and she was bent double and could not straighten up at all. I read there, The New American. When we look at this word bowed, it wasn't just a slight bending over. It was serious. She was very low. It gives the implication that the top came down and almost met her feet. That's how severe the condition was. It's a condition that we called kyphosis. It's a condition that can affect anybody, children, anybody of any age, but it's most common in the elderly. She was in great discomfort for eighteen years. In a synagogue at that time, they held meetings on three different days. One was what they called the Sabbath, which would be Saturday. The other day was on a Monday, and they gathered on a Thursday. They gathered three times a week, and they would hold meetings, and leaders and elders could talk, they would listen to the reading of Scripture, they would pray together. Jesus was in one of those meetings on the Sabbath. And while he's there, there was a woman for eighteen years had a sickness caused by a spirit. And King James said, had a spirit of infirmity eighteen years, and was bowed together and could not lift herself up. In no wise could she lift herself up. It's quite a thing that a spirit would do that, isn't it? When you think about it, that a spirit could disturb certain things within the physical body and cause the body to go like that. Jesus is giving us a deep insight that a spirit got in there and began to cause problems. We need the gift of discernment, especially when we're ministering, healing. The New American says, caused by a spirit. That's the word of God. It was caused by a spirit. And she was bent double and could not straighten up at all, could not help herself. Most of us like to be able to tell our bodies what to do. And this woman was helpless. No doubt she tried everything. No doubt you have tried everything. Today, if you're afflicted and you're trying to get victory over something and you haven't been successful, then you're helpless. The Bible has an answer for that. Jesus sees our helplessness. John chapter 15, verse 5. I am the vine. You are the branches. He who abides in me and I in him, he bears much fruit. For apart from me, you can do nothing. What are you saying? I need the Lord to do things. I need his spirit to do things. If I try to do it on my own, or if I let pride or something else constantly ruin my life, I will do nothing. I will not grow. I will not mature. I will not get the victories that I need. This woman had gone to the meeting just like she had for years.

Speak, Touch, And Immediate Change

SPEAKER_01

The people were very familiar with her, but in this particular meeting, Jesus saw her. He saw her. And when Jesus saw her, he called her over and said to her, Woman, you are freed from your sickness. Now, there's a few things that catch my attention in this verse. And one thing that really catches me, he calls to her and says, Come here. That is quite interesting. But it's that few feet where faith begins to really take a hold. It takes a hold in the individual. It creates expectancy. The time that they leave their seat or their position where they're standing and they move toward you, toward their miracle, each step that they are taking, expectation is growing and developing. And Jesus says to her, and it's very specific, he called her over to him, called and said unto her, Woman, thou art loosed from thine infirmity. He spoke to her, and when he did, this is how we get an insight here on how Jesus ministers. In his meetings, he would minister to the people he saw. It says he saw her. It's an English word, saw. He looked, his eyes fastened onto her, and it was like he saw her. Why? He saw her. He saw that woman walking up straight. It wasn't just her bowed over position, even though he comments on that. It wasn't because of whatever. He saw the whole work completed. She needed to see it. So what he would do is he would see in the spirit. Remember what she said about Jesus? Jesus only did that which he saw and heard, or heard and saw the Father doing. And Father would say, That one, that one. Now we know that he healed all that came to him, but there were cases when he was ministering personally. The first thing that person would be brought forth in the spirit. And then he spoke to her. When you get ready to minister to anybody, it is absolutely critical what you speak and how you speak. Because when you speak, it's not just going to be your actual words that they hear, but they're going to be able to sense your speaking. And Jesus did that. And it says to her, He said, You are loosed from your infernity. And then we go down into verse 13. After he spoke these things, he laid his hand on her. And when he laid his hand on her, impartation took place. It says he laid his hands on her, and immediately she was erect again and began glorifying God. He spoke a word of healing. He spoke a spirit word. And when he laid his hands on her, activation occurred. Verse 14.

Sabbath Backlash After The Miracle

SPEAKER_01

But the synagogue official, indignant, because Jesus had healed on the Sabbath, began saying to the crowd in response, There are six days in which work should be done. So come during them and get healed. Not on the Sabbath day. Had nothing to do with the healing. Had everything to do with the Sabbath day. I have found that God has moved in wonderful ways, and thank God He has. He was defending the Sabbath. What did the Lord say? The Sabbath was made for man, not man for the Sabbath. Jesus said that. Jesus dealt with that. Here it says, and he was filled with indignation because Jesus had healed on the Sabbath. This official was not the one that was bound over. It was this precious lady who for 18 years was bound over. He's worried about some rule that may be broken, and Jesus was very swift to tell them about their rule.

Criticism As A Spiritual Trap

SPEAKER_01

But what we find taking place is was something called fault finding. Acts chapter 11. And verse 2. When Peter came up to Jerusalem, those who were circumcised took issue with him, saying, You went to uncircumcised men and ate with them. They found fault with Peter's ministry. Peter had done a great work. People were filled with the Holy Ghost, and what do they do? They want to find fault with the man of God. See, the enemy will try to do that. What he'll do is he'll make you, he'll make people talk against the man of God. The one that's doing the preaching and the teaching. That's why it's so good that you pray for your pastor and those who minister to you. They right away will start finding fault with him or her. And then they will then start finding fault with somebody else. And that spirit gets in there, and these spirits run together, infirmity and fault finding. And as another word, criticism. There's another one. They criticize. Do you know that there were people, religious though, religious people who criticize Christ? Can you imagine criticizing Christ, God in the flesh? Why? Well, what would make somebody do that? It's because there are spirits about them. And they are more interested in status and position in a community than they are in their walk with the Lord. And they have very little love for the people of God. Thank God for those of you who persevere against criticism. Luke 19, 7. And when they saw it, they all began to grumble, saying, He is gone to be a guest of a man who is a sinner. Let's go to verse 15. Jesus healed the woman, and now he's got to deal with a critical spirit. See, the enemy as last resort will try to get you to doubt. Even doubt your healing. Guard yourself, especially if you dare, if you are bold enough to carry the name, a follower of Jesus Christ. Be careful of that critical word that would want to come to you. Anytime you find yourself being critical, check it immediately, because that spirit is trying to become familiar, get you familiar with it, and that you will live with it. Right away when that thing comes, come off. Separate them. You will not come near me, you foul, critical spirit. Because what that spirit will do, it will make you a hypocrite. Verse 15. But the Lord answered him and said, You hypocrite, that word hypocrite means a pretender. You're acting as if you're the Holy One. It's an actor. You've assumed another character. You're trying to let people think you're something

Dominion, Health, And Final Prayer

SPEAKER_01

else. Let's go to the second chapter of Hebrews. And let's look at verse 8. You have put all things in subjection under his feet. For in subjecting all things to him, he left nothing that is not subject to him. But now we do not yet see all things subjected to him. That's God's plan. It's for us to have dominion. In 1 Corinthians chapter 6 and verse 20. For you have been bought with a price. Therefore, glorify God in your body. Glorify God in your body. How do we glorify God? Walking in health. We all have to press for that. We read of a case here today in this particular message, a woman that for 18 years walked with this thing in her body. Maybe you are a believer and you've been carrying it two years or 15 years or 40 years. Glorify God, receive healing and a miracle in the name of Jesus. Luke chapter 13, chapter 13, and verse 16. Jesus said, Ought not this woman be loosed? Do you think that she should be in pain? Do you think that she should walk around doubled over while the rest of you walk upright? Do you not think it's okay for her to be healed? The people were yelling, Yes, healed. What wonderful news that this woman had and received. Not only the news, but the experience. I can walk again. I speak healing to you in the name of Jesus. Amen.
