I'm ministry on the gifts of the Holy Spirit. And what the Bible says about it is concerning spiritual gifts, he doesn't want us to be ignorant. He wants us to know about them. He doesn't want us to know about them and not do anything about it. If you have a gift, you use it. You use it because you're going to bless the people of God, the body. That's why we have it. And he's Lord of your gifts. He's Lord of your life. He's Lord of the Church. And he's Lord of every circumstance that you encounter. Both good and what you consider not so good. And when we move in the gifts, he's Lord of moving through you. I would say the most neglected thing that I see and witness in the spirit-filled church is the operation

What The Word Of Knowledge Is

of the gifts. Everyone that has the gifts is to profit all in the church. For to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom, to another the word of knowledge by the same spirit. I'm going to be ministering on the word of knowledge. The Lord's showing me new things, and I want to share them with you. To another faith by the same spirit, to another gifts of healing by the same spirit, to another the working of miracles, to another prophecy, to another discerning of spirits, to another diverse kinds of tongues, and to another the interpretation of tongues. Nine gifts. I want today to talk about the word of knowledge. May not be something that you're overly familiar with. These gifts are for the entire body of Christ, no matter where you're placed in that body. The way that you move in the gifts of the Spirit will impact generations to come. Says in verse 12, Now we have received not the Spirit of the world, but the Spirit which is of God, that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God. That includes the word of knowledge. Which things also we speak. Sometimes people say, God shows me things. Should I speak them? Not necessarily. But when you are moving in the word of knowledge, you will have the understanding of how and what you are to share. Some

Turning Spiritual Insight Into Clear Words

things may only be for the individual. Some things it'll be good for the whole church to hear. But we will speak not in the words which man's wisdom teacheth, but that which the Holy Ghost teacheth, comparing spiritual things with spiritual. When the word of knowledge is given by someone that has the gift, they are combining spiritual thoughts with spiritual words. When you have the gift, word of knowledge, using it as a gift in ministry to somebody, you have a spiritual thought, and you must translate that into spiritual words that the person you are giving the word of knowledge to, that they will clearly understand this. And what the word of knowledge will reveal a word about the person to you, what they're going through, what they're going to be facing. You're flowing in a channel of truth. It's not something that's mixed with ungodliness, it's not mixed with worldliness. But when we come to the Lord, we need to grow, we need to mature, we need to become a part of the body and belong to a local church that is spirit-filled. Let me read you this, Second Corinthians chapter 11, verse 6. For though I be rude in speech, yet not in knowledge, but we have been thoroughly made manifest among you in all things. When you move in the spirit, it flows perfectly. And when you are moving in the word of knowledge, and it's a verbal gift, you are flowing perfectly. Don't let the enemy say, I'm too crude, I really don't know how to say things properly. That is a trick of the enemy to keep you shut down. When you were brought into the body of Christ, God has a plan for you. And his plan is that you function perfectly as well as any other member of the body of Christ or the church. There's no such thing as somebody in the body of Christ and they are flawed. That is not true. Just because you don't talk the same or move in the same manner as somebody else, and you are most effective when you are yourself. Don't try to imitate somebody else. You be you. When using or moving in the word of knowledge, we are skillful in speaking clearly so that the one that we are ministering to understands. It will bear witness to that person that you're ministering to. When you're flowing with the word of knowledge, you may only have a couple of words.

Rejecting Doubt And Growing In Skill

Maybe you might only have one sentence that God has showed you to give them. And when you start speaking to them, it just starts opening right up and you just flow. What the enemy does, he will always try to make us doubt. One of the enemy's weapons is he'll make you doubt whether the word of God is true. He'll make you try to doubt that there is a God. He'll try to make you doubt that you're not really born again. He'll try to make you doubt that the gifts that you have you don't really have. And the list piece keeps going on. But I think what we have to understand, he'll also try to make us doubt that we're not skillful. When the Holy Ghost moves through you, and as you exercise this gift, this word of knowledge, the hearers are going to understand, there'll be no doubt in their minds that they will know that they are hearing the word of God for them. And you, as the one that has the gift, there's no doubt in your mind, you know it's the word of God. There's a phrase found in Acts 18, verse 26. It talks about knowing the way of God more perfectly. And that shows to me that as I grow in the knowledge of the word of the Lord, my gift of operation of the word of knowledge will also grow. And it will be effective. It's just a constant moving forward effect.

Why God Gives A Word Of Knowledge

I want you to go with me to the book of the Galatians, the fourth chapter, verse nine. I'm going to read you the verse first. But now, after that you have known God, or rather are known of God, how turn ye again to weak and beggarly elements whereunto you desire to be in bondage? The word of knowledge is to draw the hearer's attention to their walk with the Lord. That's why the word of knowledge comes. It will come to increase our faith, it will come to keep us encouraged on our journey. You've been seeking God, and God will use somebody to come to you and give you a word of knowledge to keep you moving forward. It's critical that we obey the word of the Lord. We cannot have a church that does not obey the word of God. And it's the same in our Christian life. I'm talking about moving in the gift with the word of knowledge, which is based upon the word of God. It confirms to us that God is definitely dealing with me. How many times have you said, God, what are you saying? What are you saying? We would hear an expression like, God's been dealing with me on this lately. The word of knowledge, God is correcting something. He's giving you clarification here for sure. And the word of knowledge, when it's operating, it is always clear, and it is always strong. It is not watered down, it's not the word of knowledge does not come to us and say, My son, you can listen if you want to. It doesn't really matter. That's up to you. No, the word never speaks in those terms. This is what God is saying. This is what God is doing. This is what's happening. It's always clear and it's always strong because it always encourages us to be free and never surrender or return to the old lifestyle of slavery of sin. You will never do that.

A Church Alive In The Spirit

So when we're moving in the word of knowledge, don't think this isn't as important. I'm just going to wait to hear what the sermon is, or I'm just going to listen to what the sermon is. When we are gathered as believers, the way we shake hands with one another, the words that we're speaking individually to one another, the songs that we sing, the prayers that we pray, the sermon that the preacher preaches to us, this is all for our spiritual good and benefit. This is why we gather. We gather so that we can have the full deal in one gathering. It's going to be there. That's why it's so important that the church be open to the gifts of the Spirit, and every gift that the Holy Spirit has given you, it is paramount that you use those gifts. Church is only dull when somebody has not done their part. There's many gifts besides the nine gifts of the Spirit, but these are spiritual gifts, and I'm talking about the spiritual gifts. We have other gifts, hospitality, giving, labor, work. All of those are wonderful gifts. But our spirit man needs the word and the gifts will see that operates in us. There are times in a believer's walk, especially when they're new in the faith, when somebody is ministering to them in the gift with the word of knowledge, it will keep them encouraged, make them strong, and they'll move forward in the gifts. It is so important when you have that word of knowledge, that gift, that you use it. I'm going to take you now to the book of the Ephesians, chapter 1, verse 18. The eyes of your understanding being enlightened, that you may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints, and what is the exceeding greatness of his power to usward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power. When you are ministering the word of knowledge, first of all, with the gift of the word of knowledge, know that you are bringing enlightenment to the individual you are speaking to. Just let the Lord minister through you and to them. It will bring enlightenment to the individual that you are ministering to for this purpose, to bring them hope that they will not lose sight of the purpose for their life. You are valuable in the kingdom. The individual that is bringing the word of knowledge and bringing it to you is valuable. We're all valuable in the kingdom. This is about God's kingdom. We're in the last days, saints. We're in a time where the enemy is making a huge play for this current generation. And we need to be moving in the spirit, and we need to be found in a church body or group that permits and encourages moving in the spirit. God always picks you up where you're at. And it's proof that his power is toward us. All of God's mighty Holy Ghost power is toward us, the church. The power of God is given to the church. And the power of God is to be exercised in the church. And the power of God needs to be recognized in the church. And when that happens, there'll be no such thing as some saint saying, I am discouraged. If you've got enough Holy Ghost-filled people who are moving in their gifts, you won't even have a chance to get discouraged because they'll be on top of it all the time, like they say, white on rice. They're going to be there. It's working in your life. And when we consider this gift or any of the other gifts, we must be careful not to think in terms of one who's using

them in human intellect. This is always in the Spirit. And the word of knowledge will flow through the one that's operating the gift. Amen. The word of knowledge. God bless you.
