Hey hey, Self-Care Warriors—it’s your girl Rho, and welcome back to Hold My Purse: A Self-Care Journey Through Life. where we talk about the healing, the hard truths, and the sacred power of choosing you, every single day.
Okay, y’all… I want to share a moment that really moved me.
My youngest daughter, Paris, just graduated from Cal State Northridge (yes, I cried). After the ceremony she shared the words that were engraved in her sash.
“The best is yet to come.”
And let me tell you—I felt that in my bones.
It reminded me that no matter how old we are, what we’ve been through, or where we currently feel stuck, we still have purpose waiting on us.
Our lives aren’t done evolving.
Our joy isn’t done expanding.
And our dharma? It’s still calling us forward.
So today’s episode is all about finding your purpose, living your dharma, and taking intentional steps toward a life that feels like yours.
WHAT IS DHARMA?
Let’s start with the basics.
Dharma is your soul’s true path. It’s the work you were born to do, the impact only you can make, and the joy that comes when you’re aligned with your gifts.
Now listen—your dharma doesn’t have to be a job title or a social media brand.
It could be how you nurture others…
How you speak truth through your creativity…
Or how you show up in your community with light and love.
But here's the truth:
You can’t walk in your dharma if you’re still hiding from yourself.
And you definitely can’t feel fulfilled if you’re still performing for the world and abandoning the real you.
PURPOSE IS SELF-CARE
We don’t always talk about this, but living in alignment with your purpose is a form of self-care.
Because when you’re not aligned, everything feels off:
You feel drained. Frustrated. Like you’re moving but not really going anywhere.
But when you start showing up in your truth—even in small ways—something shifts.
✨ You breathe easier.
✨ You say no with confidence.
✨ You move from surviving to soaring.
Get vulnerable and unmask your purpose so you can feel fulfillment.
Take off the roles, the masks, the pressure—and ask yourself:
What actually lights me up?

🧭 HOW TO START LIVING YOUR DHARMA
So let’s talk action. If you’re ready to reconnect with your purpose, here are five steps to help guide your way:
1. Create Space to Hear Yourself
Purpose doesn’t shout—it whispers.
Take 15 minutes this week, just you and your spirit—no distractions.
Journal. Meditate. Walk in silence. Let your thoughts catch up with your truth.
Ask yourself:
What do I want more of in my life?
Then go deeper:
“What areas of my life am I kidding myself?”
“Where am I performing instead of living?”
“What have I not seen in myself in a long time?”
That light? That dream? That voice you buried to survive?
It’s still there, waiting on you to come home.
2. Pay Attention to What Comes Naturally
Your gifts are not random.
What do people always ask you for? What do you do with ease?
Mini Action: Ask 3 people who love you:
“What do you think I’m naturally gifted at?”
You might be surprised what comes up.
3. Look at What You’ve Survived
There’s purpose in your pain.
Your healing wasn’t just for you—it was also preparing you to help someone else.
You don’t have to be a public speaker or a coach to walk in purpose.
Just be honest. Be real. Be available to the light that’s already in you.
4. Let Go of the Timeline
You’re not late. You didn’t miss your shot.
Your journey might look different—and that’s okay. You’re allowed to bloom in your own time.
And yes, you’re allowed to start over.
5. Take One Soul-Aligned Action This Week
One step. That’s it.
- Start the outline
- Call the mentor
- Post the truth
- Submit the thing
- Say the “yes” or the “no”
Purpose reveals itself when we start walking—imperfectly, but intentionally.
