Complex Problems, Simple Solutions: Discussions on Homelessness
Welcome to the Complex Problems, Simple Solutions: Discussions on Homelessness podcast. We explore resources, experiences, and the goals of advocates and outreach volunteers who offer services and support to our unhoused neighbors throughout Washington State. Our hope is to provide a more compassionate understanding of their experiences, and the obstacles they face as they pursue their goals.
Your host of Complex Problems, Simple Solutions, Anton Preisinger, formed the nonprofit organization, Northwest Hospitality in 2016 to pursue his outreach goals and better support vulnerable neighbors where he lived and worked. With a background in science and diverse volunteer experiences, Anton continues to develop NWH organically. We are always doing our best to respond to people’s unique requests and find ways to enhance the programs of other groups and organizations in the field by filling in the gaps and maximizing teamwork. When communities are encouraged, complex problems can be conquered by simple solutions.

Episode 11 - Point in Time Count
What is a Point in Time Count and why is it done? Anton discusses this annual survey and how it works in Kitsap County of Washington State. You will hear about some of the draw backs of the survey, but also why it is a necessary step towards getting our unhoused neighbors the resources they need.
The main goal of Northwest Hospitality is to alleviate suffering and show compassion to all our homeless neighbors through simple, effective programs. We aim to encourage participation in other local services that can help bring people out of poverty. As we accomplish this goal, we serve our supporters by being a transparent, effective charity that embodies integrity and efficiency in both our programs and operation.
